You're jumping to conclusions.

Like I said, we're working flat out to try to figure out something else.

I'm not sure that the crybabies here on the forums are even worth responding to. Just saying.

Varrok 07-10-2014 10:28 AM

Now you're just being Havoc.

OANST 07-10-2014 10:30 AM

Tigers are so hot.

STM 07-10-2014 10:36 AM

He's exactly right though. As per usual half of OWF comes together and takes a nice collective shit on everything.

No, I'm saying that the pre-order extras should be available worldwide. I've nothing against them offering the extras for a price afterwards, but I think everybody should be given an equal chance to have the extras for free.

They will be available outside of the US, I've not said otherwise.

I have, however, said we're trying desperately to make that happen in way that benefits as many people as we can.

I've also said that things change at the last minute. Trust me, this bit's not easy.

The issue is that people are dealing with only half the information. I'm trying to sort that as quickly as I can.

OANST 07-10-2014 11:29 AM

Ha. No. That's really not the issue. The issue is a combination of entitlement, selfishness, and being stingy little shits. Give them all of the information, and you will still have the same problem. Guaranteed.

Connell 07-10-2014 11:37 AM

I do feel for JAW. It seems this is really quite out of their hands. I believe they do have the best intentions though for us, why wouldn't they want to provide us with stuff they've slaved over for years? But at the same time, I hope we do not get disappointed.

Okay now you're making be genuinely curious as to why this is not easy. Is the entire point of being independent not that you have full control over these kinds of things? Or is it Sony, Microsoft and Nintendo who have certain restrictions on pre-orders and DLC on their platforms that is making it hard?

The "not easy" bit was more about trying to communicate with fans like you guys when we don't currently have all the information out there we want to have and the limited amount of time and resources we have available.

We want to get everything straight first and then we'll hopefully be able to move forward.

it's your mother. your mother is not making it easy. believe me, i've tried. i've tried so hard. your mother, that is. i've tried your mother.

just making sure you got that.

Are you really not aware that the regional distributors have more than a small say in this kind of thing, and that some of them may not actually allow them to do it freely without cutting into the profits they make from the game? Are you unaware of a thing called 'business'?

MA 07-10-2014 01:43 PM

also, are you unaware your mother really isn't making this easy?

like, dude. sort that bitch out.

OANST 07-10-2014 02:09 PM

Have your mother make this easier, Havoc. We don't have all fucking day.

MA 07-10-2014 02:21 PM

it's up to your mother. it's also up for your mother, if you catch my drift wink nudge tickle slap

Xavier 07-10-2014 02:23 PM

Ok we've established the fact that Havoc's mother is not making it easier, can we please move on now.

Connell 07-10-2014 04:34 PM

I had sexual intercourse with Havoc's mother.

Did I do joke right?

On topic: I'd say give it 'till Wednesday next week at the very latest for all this to be sorted, otherwise there's no point in having the pre-order option. I am literally sat waiting to give them my money and I'm sure if they had the means they would be more than happy to accept it in return for the fruits of their labor. Patience friends, this is the last hurdle.

DWeedMan 07-10-2014 05:18 PM

Well in light of all this pre-order controversy decided to bypass it all by simply buying $30 worth of US PSN cards on ebay and pre ordering New N Tasty on a US PSN account, so not only am I guaranteed the Alf levels but I get the game a day early compared to the rest of Europe :D

Samtastic 07-10-2014 11:56 PM

Still nothing on the PSN Europe store.

Wow! Does that work even if your PS3 is located in Europe?

Only if your psn account is a US account as far as I'm aware.
I always wanted the option for psn users to change their region/ store preferences. Not intercontinental but at least within Europe. The benelux store seems to be the storefront that misses all the good stuff and always gets everything last because of the localization overhead (3 official languages).

On topic again.
Pre-ordering NaT the moment it hits the EU store!!
Let's start the cashflow for OWI so they can make more Oddworld games :fuzwink:

I'd imagine so, way back when Abe's Oddysee and Exoddus were first released on the US PSN store only I did the same thing to get them before they were released in Europe, and I have used a US PSN account to download demos of ps3 games only released in America (basically just MLB the Show)

Xavier 07-11-2014 02:30 AM

Ok thanks for the clarification.

Makes you wonder why they put in place such a ridicoulous regions system if it's so easy to bypass.

It's probably to do with distribution rights and licensing, Sony likely make it easy to bypass because whether or not people bypass the system hardly affects them, buying a game on the US or UK PSN store still generates them revenue.

More info about the pre-order content has been posted on oddworld.com

:

http://www.oddworld.com/wp-content/u...eorder-alf.jpg

Alf’s Escape – Abe ain’t the only one fleeing the farm!

Witness the humble beginnings of that fez-donning, tea-lovin’ Mudokon first seen in Abe’s Exoddus! Use Abe’s haphazard skills to sneak Alf outta the factory and to freedom! Watch out for that meat grinder!

“Alf’s Escape” is an all-new area of RuptureFarms containing brand new puzzles and fiendish hazards that’ll ensure a fresh challenge for even the most seasoned Oddworld fans, as well as specially recorded dialogue!

It’ll also feature its own PSN leaderboard, alongside leaderboards from all the other levels in the game, so you can compete with everyone else to see who can rescue Alf in record time!

Anyone that pre-orders New ‘n’ Tasty (in the US and Canada) will get Alf’s Escape for no extra cost when it’s released as DLC shortly after release. Details for the rest of the world to follow next week.

http://www.oddworld.com/wp-content/u...rder-scrub.jpg

Scrub Abe – Dress to possess!

Now you can really go to work on those Sligs! Get Abe kitted out in a traditional factory cleaner’s outfit (complete with striped loincloth and scalp cap) so they can really look the part on that grimy factory floor.

In the US and Canada, the QuikBuy Scrub Abe costume will be exclusive to pre-orders and will be available on release day. Again, details for the rest of the world to follow next week.
EDIT, jaw_alex is right, for the sake of clarity here are the bits detailing the deal itself:

:

Hello Inhabitants!

We’re excited today to reveal two special bonuses that’ll be available for “QuikBuyers” of Oddworld: New ‘n’ Tasty for when the game releases on PlayStation 4 in under two weeks.

In the US and Canada regions these will be part of a pre-order bonus which is now available – click here to pre-order the game now. New ‘n’ Tasty launches in the US and Canada on July 22nd.

Regarding the UK, Europe, Australia, New Zealand and the Middle East (the SCEE regions) – we’re hoping to have details next week on how everyone else will be able to get hold of the same content.

Also, pre-ordering Oddworld: New ‘n’ Tasty (in the US and Canada) means that it’ll be there waiting for you on release day. We’re currently chasing exact timings but the plan is for the game to start downloading to your PlayStation 4 a day or two early, then unlock at precisely midnight on the 22nd, so you’ll be able to start Abe’s daring adventures straight away!

We can’t wait for everyone to get their hands on the game when it releases in just two weeks’ time on PlayStation 4. And don’t forget New ‘n’ Tasty and the QuikBuy Bonuses are Cross-Buy and Cross-Save, so pre-ordering now (in the US and Canada) will let you play the PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita versions as soon as they’re released too, bonuses included!

We’re still trying to launch the PS3 and Vita versions as soon as possible after the PS4 version. Until then, we’ve ensured that Remote Play from PS4 to Vita works perfectly, and the game really shines on the Vita’s screen.

The QuikBuy extra content will be available on other platforms and in other regions. We’ll have full details of how to get the content outside of the US and Canada (and on other systems) in due course.

OWI_Alex 07-11-2014 02:22 PM

Just to re-iterate, because Xavier didn't c/p the entire blog - we ARE still looking into getting the content to everyone else. Details next week.

Edit - ta.

Holy Sock 07-11-2014 03:09 PM

I hope Alf's still a bit of a dick. I liked the idea of a jerk being one of Abe's allies.

MeechCrunchies 07-11-2014 04:39 PM

Please for the love of fuck tell me that at the very least we'll be able to buy the Scrub Skin and the Alf mission later when the exclusivity wears off of the DLC?

V_O_T 07-11-2014 08:20 PM

No, all these dlc additions will be final and must be purchased in the US/ canada regions in the next 10 days. All of this is final. To get this content you MUST purchase it now.

C'mon dudes. Think logically. They won't straight up say "no you will never have this unless blah" .

They are probably awaiting confirmation from the other end of the line to be able to say with 100% certainty that we will get X on the date of Y.

Like Alex said, things can change last minute. It's in their best interest to give everyone the same slice of paramite pie. Relax chums.

Well on the bottom on the page, there is something about exclusivity. I am sure we don't have to worry, they want to give it to every platform, for everyone. And I hope they will be able to solve that problem with EU pre-orders soon enough.
Quoting from the Oddworld blog post:

JennyGenesis 07-12-2014 12:30 AM

I really hope that the rest of the world are able to pre-order the game to get the extras for free.

Manco 07-12-2014 01:25 AM

My one hope is that you’ll be able to preorder the PC version when it’s finalized and that some DLC will come with that.

Holy Sock 07-12-2014 03:14 AM

If anyone's in the US or Canada, Munch HD is going for $0.99 on PSN in the Flash Sales.

Crashpunk 07-12-2014 05:09 AM

I'm going to be absolutely gutted if we don't get the content over in EU. I'm really interested to see Alf’s Escape.

OANST 07-12-2014 06:49 AM

Just the fact that some of you are wondering whether the content will be made available to you at all makes me think that you might be mentally fucking retarded.

SoulStorm64 07-12-2014 06:55 AM

I'm glad I stayed out if this conversation for awhile lol.

I am glad we are going to get a little something extra to play, I Hope that SligStorm is DLC for Exxodus ;)

Crashpunk 07-12-2014 06:56 AM

I do highly doubt it will be exclusive to the US, But you never know. Sony might be complete dickholes and decide EU doesn't deserve shit.

Holy Sock 07-12-2014 07:21 AM

It's going to come out regardless, Crash, but no guarantee that we'll be getting the same free pre-order offer as the US/Canada on PSN until next week.

OANST 07-12-2014 08:21 AM

Don't forget your helmets when you go outside, guys. You know how easily you get injured.

Scrabaniac 07-12-2014 08:53 AM

LOL. If its available in one region its obviously going to be available everywhere else. OWI and JAW are not retarded :P Yeah its cool to have it as a bonus free feature, but i'm also happy to pay for it so that they can get more of a head start with future projects such as Exoddus. End of the day it's going to be what.. an extra fiver or something? Thats less than half an hour at work.
