You can play or download Broken Dimensions here, if anyone cares.

I've heard that the Fatal Frame games are pretty terrifying as well.

Especially the second one, which is an escort mission for half the game and does it so damn well.

I've heard that the Fatal Frame games are pretty terrifying as well. Unfortunately, I've been spoiled by next gen graphics, so I don't feel the icy grip of fear that I once did when I revisit those older horror games.

Me and a few friends stumbled through the first hour or so of one of those games. As a group we were mostly not scared, but a couple of moments still weirded us out. I imagine playing it alone would fuck you up big time.

Sekto Springs 01-02-2012 07:01 PM

Playing horror games with friends totally ruins it. Even if they remain totally silent, the tension and paranoia you feel playing it alone is absent. It also helps to play it on a big screen TV with the volume way up, in an empty house with all of the lights off. That's how I played through the Silent Hill and Condemned games, and lemme tell ya, I did not sleep those nights.

Mr.Spandexpants 01-05-2012 12:04 AM

One game that freaked me out was Limbo. I have played it a couple of times at my friends house. Be it the children that are apparently trying to kill you and the nonchalant way the boy just pushes corpses around, the game creeps me out.

Off games, ever since I watched Shaun of the Dead I have been afraid of zombies. For a few months I wasn't able to sleep alone in my room. During the day I would always conjure up plans for survival. I couldn't walk home from school because I was scared that a zombie would pop up around the corner and attack me. If I ever stayed awake past everyone else going to bed, I would lie in bed and not be able to get to sleep, because I would jump at every noise, and I was boiling hot because I would wrap myself in a thick blanket in the middle of summer because I was too afraid to expose myself. I eventually desensitized myself by watching playthroughs of Dead Rising Two, and playing Black Ops Zombies.

Shaun of the Dead has to be one of the funniest movies I've seen. It's not intended to be scary.

Mr. Bungle 01-05-2012 12:15 AM

Frogs. Fucking frogs, man. Scare the shit out of me.

This, somewhat. Im not one of those people that usually finds animals gross or icky or whatever, but fucking frogs man. I dont know, they just freak me the fuck out. Me and some friends made a fire earlier(dont worry, not at a school this time) and when we were grabbing the kindling, I just imagined a frog hiding in a bunch of twigs or grass and me grabbing it. Disgusting.

Everyone says that. But that does not change the fact that there are zombies. It wasn't the movie that scared me, it was the zombies. But I do agree that was a hell funny movie.

STM 01-05-2012 10:37 AM

Oh man call me weird but I fucking love zombies, the whole concept of survival in such a situation intrigues me.

Hulaabeo 01-05-2012 10:49 AM

Giant squid. o.o

You may find this article of interest, then.

Number 3 and number 1 definitely.

I read this before.

Then read the '5 reasons a zombie apocalypse will never happen' after.

I was somewhat sad.

STM 01-06-2012 11:05 AM

The closest we'd ever get is a widespread plague. but it's just no fun when there's nothing to kill. XD

Dixanadu 01-06-2012 11:09 AM

I had hoped the swine flu plague would turn everyone into pig-cops from Duke Nukem, then I'd have to save the world and re-populate the human race single-handedly.

Scraby 01-06-2012 12:07 PM

well zombie apocalypses would be fun, unless you are cornered in a subway with one bullet left in your revolver.
also,this

scares the living sh.. out of me.Dunno why but i hate these japanese horrors... guhh (shivers)

Actually that's perfect. Shoot yourself in the head and spare yourself the horrible fate of being torn apart by zombies. Being cornered a subway with no bullets would be much worse.

Guess you didn't read the counter article, then.

STM 01-06-2012 07:18 PM

Fortunately that counter-article is pseudo-science nonsense. None of those except perhaps some sort of modified virus at number 3 are plausible.

Wings of Fire 01-06-2012 07:36 PM

Fucking zombie apocalypse horseshit.

Not sure if want

Sekto Springs 01-07-2012 05:48 AM

I actually don't like zombies and I don't care for any kind of zombie lore.

STM 01-07-2012 06:33 AM

Oh, something that isn't quite a scare or a phobia but something I really don't like: being clothed while wet. Like when I come out of the shower, it takes me ages to towel down to the point that I'm almost bone dry because being a tiny bit wet and putting articles of clothing on makes me cringe. Also, when it rains it means that as soon as a drop of water hits me I hunch up and practically power walk to wherever it is I have to go to get out of the rain.

Sekto Springs 01-07-2012 08:17 AM

I hate having to sit in wet clothes. Not a fear, but it's really damned uncomfortable, and I would do just about anything to avoid it. This would often happen when I went swimming and didn't have the foresight to pack an extra pair of shorts, or if I had the misfortune of getting caught without an umbrella in a downpour of biblical proportions. Having to sit in a car in wet clothes without a towel is the worst.

I'm the same. Especially summer showers, because it would rain one moment, then the sun would shine. And the heat would make the 'wet' smell turn into some kind of rancid aroma.

The only rewarding thing about it all is getting home, throwing on some warm clothes fresh out of the dryer.

STM 01-07-2012 08:39 AM

I wish I had a dryer. And a home.

Jordan 01-07-2012 09:56 AM

Warm, sunny and wet days piss me off. I hate feeling that the air is hot then having water everywhere. It's just a mix that should never happen.

Nepsotic 01-10-2012 01:04 PM

something that geniunely made me nearly cry was seeing slenderman outside my bedroom. well, in the house next to me. i looked out of my window, at about 12 at night, and theres another house directly opposite my room, i looked in and i saw this really tall figure who resembled slenderman, really tall and just looking at me, just last week this was. i couldn't get to sleep until about 4. and the worst thing is, i know something wierds going on because its a nice old woman who lives in that house on her own, so i'm pretty scared even now.

STM 01-10-2012 01:06 PM

Dude, it was a figment of your imagination. Go to sleep.

Nepsotic 01-10-2012 01:13 PM

i thought that myself, but when i looked on my phone there was an image of it, i must of took a photo, but i can't upload its on my phone, i'll do it eventually

Mudokon_Master 01-10-2012 06:04 PM

What the fuck?
Now you've got me scared!

Scraby 01-10-2012 08:26 PM

idk why,but im always afraid at night that something might suddenly jump out of somewhere,i hate that, when I brush teeth,I always peek behind before looking in te mirror late at night. My friend once did that at night,I went from the kitchen afther hearing a strange noise witch was him,I took a knife and i almost stabbed him when he suddenly jumped out screaming AAAAIIIEEE.I also hate dark basements and attics where I feel chills in my back.

MA 01-11-2012 11:50 AM

Rijeka is a scary place.

STM 01-11-2012 12:05 PM

Viva Rijeka man.

You must have taken a photo? What you go so frightened you passed out and forgot?

Scraby 01-11-2012 01:03 PM

I didnt pass out ;) but i almost stabbed the guy thinking it was some twisted monster jumping out of nowhere XD

STM 01-11-2012 01:08 PM

Lol not you Mike, I meant Nepsotic...I prolly should have made that clear really.

Nemo 01-11-2012 06:25 PM

I think I might've mentioned this once or twice in the blogs, but I am absolutely horrified by the ocean. If I was out in the middle of the Atlantic, in a submarine with a view port, I'd be reduced to a shaking, crying baby.

Mr.Spandexpants 01-11-2012 09:57 PM

Guess we know where to go for the annual OWF holiday trip.
