Phylum 04-12-2011 03:46 AM

That is certainly interesting. I'm excited about the 21st. I've told everyone that I'm busy that day.

Havoc 04-12-2011 04:09 AM

Meech was it really necessary to post the entire fucking thing here? Jeez... we know how to work a link you know.

Dynamithix 04-12-2011 04:56 AM

What Havoc said.

Wil 04-12-2011 05:19 AM

Yeah, that was really fucking annoying.

Nate 04-12-2011 05:28 AM

Agreed. Please edit it out from your post. Anyone who's interested can just click the bloody link; it's not like it's a difficult thing to do.

DarkHoodness 04-12-2011 10:29 AM

Yeah, you could've said that Part 2 was out now.

Oh and Chell in action:

Havoc 04-12-2011 10:48 AM

Max and Nate you two are the laziest mods I've ever seen.

Dynamithix 04-12-2011 10:58 AM

Goddamnit, I'm really starting to want Portal 2 now, but I already pre-ordered Mortal Kombat and I'm most likely getting L.A. Noire.

If L.A. Noire turns out to be average, I'm getting Portal 2.

Steam users: Portal 2 is now available for pre-loading.

...

What are you still reading this for? Go go go!!

Manco 04-12-2011 03:48 PM

There's like three different threads I could post this in, but:

A thing happened when I was playing Audiosurf.

So you want me to unilaterally edit other member's posts based on my personal tastes* and not ever give them a chance to fix their own mistakes? Okay, I'll start by editing your posts to all say "I'm a big fat turd!"

*Cammy doesn't count.

Havoc 04-13-2011 01:05 AM

Just saying that, as a mod, it's kind of stupid to tell someone to edit their post when the edit button is right there and it would take no more than 10 seconds to do it yourself.

MeechMunchie 04-13-2011 01:37 AM

I honestly don't care. I've done it now so everyone can shut up.

I don't particularly want to edit someone else's post just because I find it mildly annoying. You clearly don't have any issue with that, but then you're a dick.

DarkHoodness 04-13-2011 07:00 AM

Portal 2 will apparently be unlocked on Steam at 2pm GMT on 19th April. If I'm correct. Time zones confuse me. :P

MeechMunchie 04-14-2011 07:10 AM

Someone's committed.

DarkHoodness 04-14-2011 06:04 PM

http://www.aperturescience.com/a/b/c/d/g/h/abcdgh/ Make of this what you will. What'll happen when it reaches zero? *insert spooky music*

EDIT: It's actually part of the PotatoSack ARG - Valve really does have an awesome marketing strategy that their fans can get really involved with. Hats off to them.

CrissCross 04-14-2011 06:24 PM

13 hours left

Phylum 04-15-2011 01:35 AM

The timer is counting down to 16:00 GMT. Exactly. I'm going to be asleep when it hits zero.

I'm I'm very confused by all of this, though. The hole in the sky thing could be a reference to blowing a hole in the roof of the building at the end of Portal, although it probably isn't.

MeechMunchie 04-15-2011 06:34 AM

It's from the Portal trailer.

Crashpunk 04-15-2011 07:40 AM

'There is a hole in the. Sky
though which thinks can. Fly'

DarkHoodness 04-15-2011 08:03 AM

http://www.aperturescience.com/glados@home/ Ahahaha - Yeah that's right, Valve ARE good at marketing. :P This appeared when the countdown clock reached zero.

I wonder how many people are disappointed?

Wil 04-15-2011 08:10 AM

So the countdown was counting down to a countdown. Amazing.

It's not like anyone's going to have to de-jizz their pants after seeing this. Or am I underestimating Valve fans?

http://forums.steampowered.com/forum...play.php?f=854 is now like:

Watching the ARG and people's reactions to it is almost as entertaining as playing the game itself. :)

EDIT: Someone has leaked console versions of the game - Out of curiosity and boredom I've watched the first 15 minutes on YouTube (but no more as to not spoil it for myself) - And damn. This game definitely is worth its hype. IMO anyway.

... Now I want it more. lol. I shouldn't have done that. Ah well, 3 more days.

MeechMunchie 04-16-2011 02:58 AM

http://www.gamingmasters.co.uk/portal/

Helpful release date calculator.

DarkHoodness 04-16-2011 10:47 AM

Kind of shows just how much of a sham their promotion is - "Buy and play these games and get Portal 2 released EARLY!... By about 2 or 3 hours!" Really they ought to have started this 2 or 3 weeks before the release date if the bars are going to go up that slowly, to make it worth it.

Ah well, at least they're supporting indie developers, but I'm not sure capitalising on people's impatience and stupidity is the right way of doing it. It's certainly working for them though - Which makes it amusing to watch. :)

However, I'm not sure why people simply can't wait patiently a few days for the release instead of bitching about how they can't play it this weekend because Valve won't release it early - It's not like it's going anywhere after it's released or that they'll never experience a weekend ever again after this one. People are funny.

Havoc 04-16-2011 11:29 AM

Portal fans sure are going out of their ways to have the game released a few hours early, lol.

gishygleb 04-16-2011 10:03 PM

It will be released at 21 of April, isn't it?

Phylum 04-16-2011 10:31 PM

The console version is released in Europe on that date.

The digital version could be activated tomorrow if they keep completing the Potato games at this rate.

Havoc 04-17-2011 02:30 AM

It's 13 hours ahead of schedule right now. Lot of effort for 13 measely hours if you ask me.

Dynamithix 04-17-2011 03:28 AM

SPOILERS BELOW:

This is the credits song for Portal 2:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y9dA_OXyfU0

Not nearly as good as Still Alive IMO, but a fun song, haha.

Oh, the link still shows. Oh well.

EDIT: Fuck, I just watched a little Portal 2 co-op gameplay and someone spoiled the ending in the comments. I hope I don't remember it in a few months because I'm pretty sure I'll get this later.

Daxter King 04-17-2011 11:30 AM

I've accidentally read spoilers for games before, and forgot them as I played through the game. Listened to the song, I don't think it spoils much.

Unless they do that stupid thing where the hint that Glad0s is already dead before you get to the final fight and then go HURR DURR YOU THOUGHT SHE WAS DEAD and fight her anyways

MeechMunchie 04-17-2011 11:36 AM

I'm Atlas.

http://www.thinkwithportals.com/coop_survey.php

For once, I'm going to attempt to avoid spoilers for a game. They don't comprimise my entertainment too much in films, but I recently realised how much more enjoyable games are if I don't know what happens. I got kind of used to having people tell me.

Daxter King 04-17-2011 11:42 AM

Lately story spoilers haven't been spoiling games for me that much, its mainly gameplay scenarios and set pieces. Honestly if I had seen some of Bulletstorm's epic gameplay moments or Crysis 2's amazing set pieces I dont think either would of had as great effect when playing them.

MeechMunchie 04-17-2011 11:44 AM

Yeah, but Portal 2 actually has a plot.

Dynamithix 04-17-2011 12:32 PM

I'm Ratman.

DarkHoodness 04-17-2011 03:54 PM

I'm a companion cube.
