The thing I never understood about alcohol.

Why would I want to do it alot to build up a resistance to it?

Why would I like to drink a load of something I find vile to acquire a taste for it?

Do people drink to get drunk or drink because it tastes nice? If the former; why not drink tastier beverages and if the latter, well, just why?

i used to drink to get drunk. now i have acquired a taste for it, and genuinely enjoy it.

The federal government here in Oz introduced a tax on alcopops, claiming that it would curb binge drinking. All it resulted in was people buying straight vodka and mixing it with whatever they liked. The result being that they ended up drinking far more alcohol, because they'd dollop in the vodka rather than drinking the weak piss that's in the alcopops.




Also, they somehow introduced the tax before even making it a law and it ended up failing in the senate. Democracy fail.
