MO wasn't that bad, sure i would much rather play 2d abe any day, but sadly the game market revolves around 3d. i can agree about the spruce part, but they had to add something to make it i bit more challenging.

they could of done it better though and not so childish, for example rescuing muds to gain more power to open doors or to chant for longer etc. Spruce was placed too much aswell, they were everywhere and only chalenging in certain places.

as for 3d yerh i suppose they had too, but also there was no oddworld humor as far as i can remember

With Scrabs/Paramites I think he would see something akin to what Daredevil sees, where theres like pulses that you can see and react to.

What I'm saying is, it's impossible to see in 2D. It would just be a single line of vision, which would be useless.

Guys the real question is what does Abe see when he posseses a exploding fart or rather.. what he smells.. lol

Crashpunk 08-03-2009 12:14 PM

He smells his Species Rotten Bones in Fart form.

A New 3-D Oddworld game may cover this up. Oddworld Inhab. Make it happen!

Spruce? So Abe's possessing trees now?

Also, how does the invisibility power work on Scrabs and Paramites who have no eyes and sense by vibration and echolocation? Turning invisible would not shield you from either of these as invisibility is just the bending of light around an object.

Should we just assume that because the power of invisibility comes from a mystical source that it renders him invisible not only to the naked eye but the laws of physics aswell?

Phylum 08-04-2009 02:11 AM

Yes?

I was thinking exactly this yesterday.

Aleks55 08-04-2009 09:35 PM

Abe probably just see his hands, or closes his eye :P

Scraby 08-05-2009 02:04 PM

Scrabs and paramites and fleeches see u,if they dont how do u supose that the fleech so precisly hits you+the different colors are their eyes in a way, they arent shown as eyeballs butt like a green or a yellow color....

Scrabs and paramites and fleeches see u

No, actually they don't.

They do not have eyes and it's been explained by official and semi-official (lol) sources on numerous occasions how they sense you without sight.
Slogs, I think, are the only Oddworld creatures that appear eyeless but actually do have an eye. The others, Fleeches included, are eyeless.

Yes, I think it's safe to assume he's more like a ghost then a see-through creature when he uses the invisibility ring

OK, there have been quite a few replies now along the lines of 'through the eyes/echolation disturbances/electrical field/whatever of what he's posessing'. The question was what he sees between him chanting and the creature being posessed i.e. when the blue stars are flying around.

Josh 08-18-2009 09:05 AM

I think he sees like he has echolocation. Only more blue.

Leto 08-19-2009 04:32 AM

OP:

He sees a million little babbys whacking off into a big jug.

PalezQkkeli 09-07-2009 02:49 AM

I think he slightly sees everything as a psychic force, but at the same time he really can see stuff. Like spirits and living things. Still, my opinion is that he senses with intuition more than he actually sees :fuzwink:

He sees through the invisible eyes of that little orb.

PalezQkkeli 09-07-2009 06:22 AM

So what Abe sees when his spirit is flying around and about?

I think he sees everything all dark but slightly blue. Also like he's inside of an orb that twists all the light from coming from outside, so that it's like round to him.

(Got it? GOOD!)
