Sorry :(
I'll just ask questions. I'll be sure to edit my posts.

Buy the game!

Of course and why don't you give me a new XBOX? I can't get them. I'm sorry :(.

:

()
Is this going to continue in this fashion? How about you just ask your questions and we can answer them, instead of asking one at a time and hastening the death of this thread?

Ok.

The Xbox you buy doesn't have to be new. They are real cheap now. Just, if you are interested so much about a game, buy it, don't listen to other people tell you about it.

abe is now! 02-20-2008 09:25 AM

Yes, but I'd buy a XBOX 360, because it's the newest and I could buy new games. I'd buy a XBOX live only for MO because there aren't new games for it. And anyway I haven't got enough money to get it, I must ask to my parents and they don't want :fuzsad:.

Elums lips also stiched shut?

I just noticed while looking through some screeshots on TOGG, that Elums lips are stitched shut like Abe's, was a reason every given for this? Could Elum also chant?

http://oddworldlibrary.net/archives/...O/RAAO0026.jpg

EDIT: damn, missed out a T in the title.

Slaveless 02-21-2008 04:25 PM

I think that is just teeth. They don't cover the lips entirely, and it doesn't seem to make the lips be completely shut.

OddYouko 02-21-2008 06:02 PM

Those my look like stitches but it's he's teeth.

Xavier 02-21-2008 09:48 PM

Doesn't the Elum howl in the game?

anyway those are definitely just teeth

AbesGenerationX 02-21-2008 10:16 PM

Yes, they must be teeth...

Why don't native Mudokons die when bees reach them and sting them? Why can they oust bees?

Bullet Magnet 02-22-2008 12:31 PM

A natural immunity perhaps? They probably get stung a lot.

Or perhaps they use a natural repellent present in Monsaic Lines to ward them off before they suffer too many stings.

Wings of Fire 02-22-2008 12:39 PM

Perhaps because Native Mudokons are physically stronger and more dexterous than Abe.

Kyle 02-22-2008 12:56 PM

Looking for a picture

The last post in this thread was in 2006, so I figured I'd just make a topic...

Stretched across pages 28-29 in the MO handbook is a picture I've been looking for for a while. It shows two Muds reaching up towards the sky. If anyone knew where to find it, that would be wonderful.

Wil 02-22-2008 01:37 PM

There’s no known officially‐published copy of that image, so I printscreened the BIK video and made you one. For future reference, the Q&A thread has been the media request thread since version IV was started at the beginning of 2006.

Kyle 02-22-2008 01:50 PM

Thanks Max :)

What's the BIK video?

Wil 02-22-2008 01:56 PM

You can see the native Mudokons shoo the bees away, whereas Abe just stands there going ‘ooph’. Bees on Oddworld apparently have the smarts to run away when their swarm is getting dicked.

BIK is a video filetype popular for Xbox game FMVs. All the BIK files from the Munch’s Oddysee and Stranger’s Wrath gamediscs are available from the Oddworld Cinema. All you need are the RAD video tools (and probably Windows) to play them.

kin37ik 02-22-2008 05:05 PM

i realise that Sam (female mudokon) produces the mudokon eggs to create mudokons, but my question is, how old is Sam?

(evidence of sam can be found in MO by looking at the labour eggs sign)

abe is now! 02-23-2008 01:08 AM

I don't think we know how old she is. Do you know (Max, BM, Xavier)?

Are you sure? If Abe stands still, he flails his arms around in exactly the same way as the natives do. So it still doesn't make much sense, it doesn't seem to do much good when he does it.

AbesGenerationX 02-23-2008 02:36 AM

But... weren't the mudokon genderless?

Alcar 02-23-2008 02:46 AM

Think of Mudokons like bees.

Every bee is male bar the queen.

Alcar...

mmm... that's interesting theory...
so Sam is "Samantha"?

Nope, I don’t know her age. There’s nothing official that I’ve heard of. She gave birth to Abe, so she’s at least 20 Oddworld years old.

Oh yeah. Er. Well, maybe he sucks at it.

No, worker bees are anatomically and genetically female. Worker Mudokons are gender neutral. Only Mudokon drones are male.

Zerox 02-23-2008 08:38 AM

I think Alcar meant that the Mudokon drones are neutral males, but bees are neutral females. That seems to make the most sense.

Fuzzle Guy 02-23-2008 04:11 PM

I have heard a few audio recording of Stranger talking about an Ammo Carnival in Gizzard Gulch, and some recordings of the Clakkers talking about the ammo, and offering Stranger "free target practice." I never came across this in my game, is this some sort of secret level or something?

AbesGenerationX 02-24-2008 12:50 AM

Ehm, the fuzzle make eggs for reproduce themselves?

Wil 02-24-2008 02:06 AM

Fuzzle Guy, where did you hear those recordings?

:

I've never seen a Fuzzle queen, but I've never seen any of the other queens, either. Most creatures on Oddworld are descended from a queen, so it is safe to say ... Probably.

Fuzzle Guy 02-24-2008 02:11 AM

Fuzzle Guy, where did you hear those recordings?

They're ripped off the game...

Wil 02-24-2008 06:51 AM

Ah, then they’ll be pieces of audio recorded and encoded on the game disc, but not used in the final game because of level/story/tutorial redesigns. Now, more importantly, where can I pick up a copy of these audio clips? ;)

Fuzzle Guy 02-24-2008 07:18 AM

I'll send you them through msn. Just tell me which ones you would like.

(I'm nat@manx.net (*):D(*)Nathan(*):D(*) in case you've forgotten)

abe is now! 02-27-2008 08:16 AM

New question: I saw the Oddworld map... and I saw The Continent of Mudos: it includes a big island. What is that island? Does anyone know anything about it? It is in Mudos so, are there some Mudokons on it? Is it reachable by boat or by blimp? It is in Mudos and till now Oddworld's games have been set in Mudos. So, will any game be set in that island?

Zozo the Zrilufet 02-27-2008 08:47 AM

I dunno. All the games are pretty much set in Mudos, no one knows anything about the rest of the...Wurld.

Bullet Magnet 02-27-2008 10:01 AM

We may find that it does not exist in the next map we get. The needs of the story, should they be applicable to this scale of geography, will take precedence over this little image.

With any luck, they might once again suffer the correspondence of one of our esteemed regulars.

Can't be good at everything. That would make Abe some sort of Mudokon saviour... Oh.

It's very possible he can figure out how to shoo off the bees, now that he is officially the Mudokon saviour.

OddYouko 02-29-2008 05:51 AM

How come the Sligs and slave Mudokons don't yell when they fall down a cliff or something? Like in AO they did. The Slig's would yell "HELP!" but they don't in AE. :nonono:

Fuzzle Guy 02-29-2008 12:28 PM

What's the point in yelling for help, no one could get there quick enough to save you.

In AE Mudokons say "OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO" and then they crash on the floor. Sligs don't say anything, I think because they fall down fastly and so they haven't the time to say: "HELP, HELP, HELP".

Zerox 03-02-2008 02:52 AM

That doesn't make much sense, AIN, it's hardly like Sligs fall faster in AE than in AO, is it?
I can't think of any legitimate reason for removing it.

Mudokons do exactly the same thing in both games.

I know but it's possibile anyway... or it's possible they don't say anything becasue they are very stupids and so they can't understand what's happening.
