Jakor 09-01-2006 11:54 AM

(Er, Hello. I was wondering if I could take Goonie?)

Rich 09-01-2006 03:12 PM

Lloyd pulled the concealed semi-auto from his jacket and turned to face the assembled Slig cronies.

"Is everyone ready?" He asked, loading the gun. The heads generally nodded in confirmation. "No fancy shit yet, I want a word with the fat fed in charge first".

Lloyd approached the front door.

Bullet Magnet 09-04-2006 03:16 AM

OOC: Gretin has current control of Goonie at the moment, you'd best ask him, Jakor. But then, he is an important character and we haven't seen your RPGing ability yet. I would suggest starting with a lesser, original character for now, and we'll see.

IC: The door handle at the front of the NSSU station began to turn. Rackleg grabbed the unconcious slig and threw him through the backdoor. He then twisted the back of him semi-auto and the near-empty clip dropped out. Immediately reloading a fresh one, Rackleg vaulted over the desk, crouched behind it and aimed his weapon at the door. The NSSU slig lying behind the door had jumped to the wrong conclusion and given the bounty hunter an unneccessary headache. He had every reason that the mafia cronies outside would have no qualms about making it worse. He would have to be ready for the worst...

Rich 09-04-2006 04:25 AM

Lloyd pushed the door open and looked into the dusty station. He spotted the empty gun cartridges and soulstorm cans littering the floor. He turned to the Sligs behind him. "I've got a bad feeling about this, seems like we're not the only people in this dump doing business tonight, keep your wits about you".

He began to walk down the corridor of cells towards the desk, looking into each one. Four Sligs followed him in, holding assault rifles and keeping a lookout for trouble.

"I see Kreager, but where's Lenny?" Asked one of the mafia sligs.

"They must've moved him downstairs into the special cells, they know we're coming for him".

They turned towards the desk and rear door, that would lead to the basement stairs and offices.

"Stop!" called a voice from a nearby cell.

A Vykker was looking at them through the bars. "Be careful, theres someone hiding behind that desk, a fresh face, not from 'round here. Knocked out one of the feds".

Lloyd turned towards the desk. "Show yourself!" He yelled.

Bullet Magnet 09-05-2006 02:00 AM

"Ah, crap," Rackleg muttered under his breath. That Vykker was going to pay. He slowly rose to his feet with his hands in the air.
"Look, I don't want any trouble." Rackleg was now able to assess his situation. The guy in charge was a Chronicler, he didn't expect to be seeing one of those here. Their one leg gives them some mobiity problems, but the four arms meant that Rackleg would have to keep an eye out for surprises from that guy. And there were four sligs behind him, dressed in black suits. Normally sligs wouldn't present him with a problem, but they were of the mafia. He would have to be prepared for anything.
"I was just here to get some... er..." did he really want these gangsters to know he was here for bounties? Most of them were on the wall already.
"Your guy is in the back," said Rackleg, changing the subject quickly. "It's not pretty." He pushed the door open with his foot. The unconcious slig was hidden in the shadows, so long as he doesn't wake up, he won't be found. The bounty hunter stared the mobster in the eye. He slid his foot under his semi-auto. One wrong move on the part of these jokers and it would be in his grip in a second.

Gretin 10-15-2006 10:02 PM

OOC:

Ok, I realise this thread has probably pretty much died by now, but considering it's probably because of me that's happened, I figured it was ok to post in it now. If not... Sorry! :p

Anyway, I'm just posting to say I think someone else should take on Goonie and Knuckles, because I've been really busy lately (hence my not being online) and I don't think it will be getting any easier any time soon, so me having main characters isn't really a good idea.

Bullet Magnet 10-16-2006 08:07 AM

OOC: You don't know how pleased I was to see this one back on the page. Well, if anyone's still interested in playing (and I see no reason why you wouldn't) then please feel free to join in again. In fact, join in now, no "feel free" about it. It's mandatory.

Zerox 10-16-2006 10:19 AM

OOC: Hmmm....heck, might as well join this too! Seems cool. I hope it doesn't die for absolutely no reason like Meepiluch. It was gonig great, then...well, look at it now.

Name: Stan
Species: Steef
Age: 38
Appearence: Shady Steef in a large waistcoat, pretty much.
Personality: Suspicious, shady and very untrusting. Fairly short temper. And if you don't give him his pay for sealing the bounty...well, he'll take it. Regardless of what he has to do to you to get it.
Equipment: Brute force, bow and arrow, a stock of poisons with varying effects to be used with the arrows, which have a special 'groove' which holds the liquids. The poisons and other chemicals may be collcted from wild sources, found in city's or otherwise bought secretly of merhants in the market. Keeps the jars in pockets in his large waistcoat, the bow and quiver are hidden under it also.
Occupation: Bounty hunter
Most overheard remark: "Who you want, what the pay?"
Bio: Been sneaking around Nolybab, hiding in alleys, getting pay from various high street gangs for killing off other threatening ones, or catching them, or whatever you request.

Oh, and since this is after all the current games, what's the current view of Steef in society? An overview would be good. How has society progressed?
Get Splat to do a map?

IC: Stan hid on the buildimg of the Lucky Scrab Casino. He watched drunkards, rich and poor idiots alike leaving and entering the Lucky Scrab. Stan himself wasn't stupid enough to gamble away what he managed to earn. He knew those things were probably rigged, anyway. For now, he kept a secretive eye for anyone who may leave this place who may know the Oddfather. He was hoping to make a particularly well paying bounty from him. He kept his watch from the shadows, hidden underneath the large, flashing letters advertising the casino, ready to snatch anyone ho looked like they had possible connections. He knew a couple in particular from bounty records, but he was hoping for a larger prize, and didn' want to get on the badside of the very guy he was trying to get a bounty from. He knew better than to try to go straight for this big cheese. He was also particularly doubtful of Maggie actually paying him for the excessively hard work he'd have to do. Anyway, he continue watching the hopeful bums entering and the even worse off ones leaving, waiting for someone whom he recognised...

Bullet Magnet 10-17-2006 11:14 AM

Goonie McGoon and Knuckles Andwige left the tavern with the rest of the gangsters, some of which proceeded to climb into the backs of three black trucks parked oon the curb. Knuckles approached the rear most one, but Goonie grabbed his shoulder and shook his head. Instead they chose the front truck.

Knuckles took the wheel while Goonie sat in the passenger seat. Neither used the seat-belts (seat belts? what are they?) and started the ignition. A slig and a hunchback outlaw took the second vehicle. Knuckles pulled away from the tavern, followed by the other black truck. The two outlaws in the third twisted the key and-
KABOOOOM!
"Scrab's Blood! What the hell?"
"Just keep driving, Andwige!"
"But someone just wasted a truck, and four of our boys!"
"I saw that, greyskin. We'll deal with it later. But whoever did do that was a proffessional. I almost didn't notice."
"You let them get in there!"
"But I didn't let you now, did I? Since when did killing bother you? You've got your own collection of stiffs. I imagine that whoever set it up was still there, ready to ambush us." Goonie checked the mirrors. "In fact, he may still be following us now."
"We'll have to take the long route, try to shake him. We can't let anyone ruin our transaction, the Don'll have our hides. Like with his valet..."
They both shuddered.

6-finger-fred 10-17-2006 04:59 PM

(Sorry for not posting computer is down and still not up... :( )

Mr. Lixor gave a whistle as his slig pulls him up and walks him to the door.
He looks at the oak door open as they step into the boiler room, also called the room where no-lifes would come and get high. The metal stairs spiraled down to some more metal, this time on the floor.

Three muds, an outlaw, and a couple of clakkers lied on the floor, coughing and laughing at the same time. Lixor didn't care what they did while their high, as long as they paid. He wobbled over to the other side of the bland and black room and got his valet to open the door.
The dining area was a huge contrast, showing vibrant colors that lit up the town. A bunch of legal regulars stood and ordered, as Lixor watched the moolah pop into the register.

Zerox 10-18-2006 01:00 AM

IC: Stan continued to eye the various species wandering in and out the Casino. Then he spied a particular Slig. It wasn't wanted in particular, but it was probably a bit drunk. It swayed around, yelling "Don Glock" everywhere. He waited for the coast to be clear, leapt down and swiftly pulled it into the shadows. He shook it into sanity. Well, as best he could.
"Hey, I heard you shouting 'Don Glock' everywhere. Do you by anychance know where I might find him?"
The Slig just sort of made frothing noises.
He shook it suddenly and violently "Answer me!"
This turned out to be a mistake. A nearby Wolvark overheard and walked over. Stan hid quickly, dropping the Slig. The Wolvark just thought it was the drunk Slig, crumpled on the floor, and gave it a kick before walking away.
Stan returned to it "So...?"
"Alrigh'. Kay. Here's a phone number.
The Slig was evidently not one of the Oddfathers higher ranking Sligs. And the fact it was liable to ending up in this state. So he just said thanks and leapt up into the dark building again, and made off on his way.

magic9mushroom 10-25-2006 10:16 PM

I just screwed up my previous post. Deleted. My previous char wasn't very good, so I will make a new one.

Name: Lucy
Gender: Female
Race: AI
Appearance: whatever her algorithms say will look beautiful to the person looking.
Occupation: whatever her clients want.
Equipment:none.
Backstory: Lucy was the product of some experiments with intelligent computers. She lives in Odd-cyberspace and can access anything virtual. All is visible to her that is within the field of a security camera, all is audible to her that is within the range of a microphone. She has no physical body, but tends to exchange services for favours.

IC:Lucy saw something interesting on the security camera feed from outside the Lucky Scrab. A Slig was dragged into An area that she couldn't see(damn the authorities for not putting security cameras in alleys!). After some searching, she found a mike nearby. All she could make out was some whispering including the words "Don Glock". When a Steef came out into her view again, she made a message sound on the nearest payphone saying, "Get to the nearest computer inside the casino. You won't need any money."

Zerox 10-26-2006 01:35 AM

IC: As the Slig drunkardly loped off, not caring anymore, Stan froze at the sound of a voice that may have been someone who noticed him and his activity. He slipped the number into his waistcoat and said "Who's there? And where is the 'nearest computer'? I don't want to go somewhere too out in the open. Inside this casino is alright, I doubt many of the drunkards and idiots there will give a toss, but I wouldn't stay for too long, and wouldn't want to look like I'm searching for something either. So if there's one in there, tell me, and I'll find it"

magic9mushroom 10-26-2006 02:35 PM

Um...I said that she sent him an SMS. No sound. If you don't want to have a mobile, I'll edit.

Zerox 10-27-2006 12:37 AM

OOC: oh. I was wondering by what you meant. I thuoght it would be a sort of plain, computer voice with no identity in it sort of thing. No, Stan doesn't have a mobile.

Bullet Magnet 10-27-2006 04:02 AM

Knuckles lead the convoy around the city a few times, in an attempt to shake off their assailent. Eventually Goonie stopped him.
"Okay Knuckles, I think it's time to go to the arranged location."
"..."
"You're still not speaking to me? Fine. You know, I didn't think you were quite this petty, Andwige. This is not the time."
"..."
"Yeah, I bet you are. Grow up, would you? You're acting like a common Grubb."
"...!"
"What? Oh, not again!"
Goonie leant over and played with Knuckle's jaw for a moment, trying to get it open. Finally he wrenched out a sticky, plasticy mass.
"How many times? You know you ain't supposed to eat the Tightlips Gum! That's for to prevent life-worthy witnesses from singing to the feds."
"But it's so sweet and tasty!"
"Urgh!"
Their van hit a bumb.
"What was that? Oh well, never mind."

Lying on the road in a crumpled mess, a Clakker stared up into the stars.
"WHYYYYYYYYYYYYYY!? Ugh, I'm dead!"

Rich 10-29-2006 03:14 PM

Lloyd eyed Rackleg suspiciously.

"You best get out of here, this place might get very messy soon. I don't want to see you're still in here when I come out of there" He said, gun in hand, approaching the door.

The Sligs stood guard behind Lloyd as he walked cautiously into the back room. The shadowy office showed signs of a recent struggle, loose documents covered the floor, spreading from an upturned filing cabinet and furniture lay toppled around the room. Slumped on the chiefs desk was Lenny, lifeless, gunshot wound to the head.

"Guys, this isn't pretty" said Lloyd, moving Lenny off the desk. He tried the back door. Locked from the outside.

"Looks like those filthy cops have done a runner too, this is turning from bad to worse fast, I'd best go outside and phone the boss".

Bullet Magnet 10-29-2006 05:31 PM

Rackleg tightened his grip on his semi. He looked from slig, to chronicler, to slig. His hand fell to his pocket, where he felt the bounties- including the Oddfather's- hidden. Hiding his relief, the outlaw bounty hunter strode from the NSSU station, projecting as much presence as he could, before making his escape.
It was raining outside now, and the night sky was featureless- excessive light-pollution had turned it to a depressing orange colour, yet is was still somehow pitch black. The mobster's cars were parked out on the curb, they still had drivers in them, and the engine was running.
Rackleg donned a black leather rainhat. It was amazing how much that could prevent you from getting noticed. He crept towards the vehicles, being careful not to be seen. He managed to crouch right behind one without incident.
The black car had been kept spotlessly clean, and the recent waxing left a finish upon which the rain water just rolled off. But the back wheel had something on it. A white crusty residue. He scratched a bit off and tasted it. A dumb thing to do, given the refuse found in the city.
Hmmm, thought Rackleg. Salty.
He heard some noises from inside the station. This was the sort of time the bounty hunter wished he had a dripping tin of paint to hang on the car's exhaust. Instead, he sneaked back the the fedstation and slid around back.
The boxes and trash back here had enough evidence to put away the entire corrupt NSSU for a long time, but that was not what he was here for. Rackleg gripped the drain pipe and scaled the short building. On the roof, he hid behind the bright NSSU sign, looked over at the street, and waited...

magic9mushroom 10-29-2006 05:41 PM

edit=done.

Zerox 10-29-2006 11:03 PM

OOC: K. I still sorta need another answer from her about Stans questions, though.

magic9mushroom 10-30-2006 12:21 PM

OOC: I presume he just said it to thin air, right?

Lucy inwardly smiled. This guy certainly wasn't dumb. She sent another message to the phone, saying

"Go in, then turn right, not going into the casino. There will be a door saying "Staff Only". Go through it, then look to your right. There is a videophone. Don't worry that someone will find you, I'll lock all the doors once you're in, and unlock them to get you back out."

Rich 10-30-2006 02:30 PM

"I don't care Lloyd, you have at least 20 sligs with you, you can cause a scene if need be, just find those bastards, you hear me!?" Said Don Glock, hanging up.

Lloyd sighed.
"Come on boys, back to work". They piled into the cars outside.
"Drive to the 24 hour bar on 12th street, they'll be there". He called to the other drivers, through his open window.

The cars then pulled away into the empty street.

Zerox 10-31-2006 08:47 AM

IC: "Okay..." said Stan. He was slightly worried she wouldn't let him out and maybe call police or something, but he should be able to break the door down. They rarely needed to resist anything stronger than a drunk Slig. Or maybe a window. But anyway, he slipped in, and went over into the Staff Only room. He went in, and waited for the videophone to activate. he quietly said "I'm in", incase no camera was present.

magic9mushroom 10-31-2006 12:27 PM

Lucy figured a female Steef face would be best. One popped onto the screen. She looked interested and said,

"I'm sure you have some questions for me, and I have some questions for you. Since I'm in control here and you're probably a bit nervous, I'll let you ask yours first. I will let you out, once you've answered my questions. Shoot!"

Zerox 10-31-2006 12:57 PM

IC: "Well, presuming you heard my little...uh...conversation in the alley, what do you, a machine, have to gain from calling me here? I don't see why you would benefit from me doing something for you, or how you can pay me in return, presuming that is why you want to talk to me."

Bullet Magnet 11-01-2006 05:13 AM

Rackleg watched the mob cars pull away. He vaulted off the one-storey building and landed in a crouch. They turned a corner and disappeared.
Damn, he thought. He wanted to follow them for a bit, find some of the bounties. He pulled the posters out of his jacket pocket.
The rain splattered the paper and he unscrewed them, but the ink didn't run. Who is there again? Rackleg figured that taking down the Oddfather would be a colosal task, and in the meantime, he needs moolah.
He flicked through the bounties. Donnie Tightfangs, Goonie McGoon, Knuckles Andwige, Jimmy the Squealer... Hmm. Why would an informant be on the list?
Rackleg slung his semi and put the bounties away. The wet paper let unpleasant cold water to dribble down his leg. He set off for the nearest bar.

magic9mushroom 11-01-2006 02:55 PM

Lucy smiled.
"First, I didn't hear your conversation, not all of it, at least. Second, I am, shall we say, inquisitive. I like knowing as much as I can about the city, and Don Glock especially. Third, I can repay you in several ways, depending on what you prefer. The options depend on what information you have and what you might decide to do for me afterwards. In short, moolah, advice, or comfort, or if you have a better idea, I'll see about that. So please recount your conversation, Steef."

OOC: How does he know she's a computer?

Zerox 11-01-2006 10:56 PM

OOC: ...

IC: "Hmmm...I was mostly just trying to get some info from that guy, he was drunk enough. I wanted to contact Don Glock so I could maybe do some bounty hunting for him, seeing as he could pay handsomely. I managed to get his number from him...I think it's a Gluk phone number, though. How I'd have access to one might be a little difficult."

magic9mushroom 11-02-2006 02:50 PM

IC: "I'm also looking for him. How about a deal, then? I can access and control any technology, you have a physical body. How about we both help each other looking for Don Glock? Can you tell me the phone number? It is really our only lead at the moment."

Zerox 11-03-2006 08:51 AM

IC: "Hm, okay. Lessee...this is pretty scruffy writing..28-9,2-60-BGH. Letters? No wonder no-one ever gussed it. I guess he has to keep it pretty secure, and few would guess at letters in it. I presume there is a way to use letters...? I don't know how often they even get used."

magic9mushroom 11-07-2006 12:23 PM

Lucy checked the number against her database. It was registered to a small company with a firewall so tight even she couldn't crack it. She tried calling it and found it routed through a few dozen servers, then to a mobile. She traced the call, then hung up.

"The mobile that the phone number leads to is in the sewers. I doubt he's actually down there, but it probably leads somewhere else. The location might be a little difficult. Do you have a mobile? If you do, could you get it? If not, I'll send you one through the post."

Zerox 11-08-2006 08:18 AM

IC: "Hmm...I don't have a mobile, but I think mr. drunkard Slig may have dropped something while fumbling in his pockets. If you let me out, I'll go get it and come back, hm?"

magic9mushroom 11-08-2006 02:48 PM

Lucy let him out, but turned on cameras to watch him.

Zerox 11-09-2006 08:17 AM

IC: Stan walked out and slipped round outside into the dark alley. Noone was around or had noticed. He could see, in the distance, the Slig, crumpled on the floor. What it had dropped was a wallet, containing a fair bit of Moolah. He pocketed it, and went up to the Slig. Few were out right now, fortunately. The Slig lay unconcious. He roted through it's pockets, finding a small handgun, a bit more Moolah which he pocketed, and...aha! A mobile! He quickly grabbed it, made sure it didn't wake up, and went back into the Casino, and slipping into the room, waited for the door to lock.

magic9mushroom 11-09-2006 12:15 PM

Lucy activated the mobile.

"Hi, we don't need the vidphone any more. Go out, go into Nabylon, go left, right, and find the door into the sewers. We may need a lockpick, I don't know."

6-finger-fred 11-09-2006 04:44 PM

OOC: again compy is down. Trying to post.

Lixor had the valet open the glass door, then walked his way out while mumbling to himself ideas of what to say to the don. "Hey Don Glock! How is it goin'! Listen, the buisness is booming and the pay is here but, your loan still has not been sent. Don't want to bother you but, I need it for some upgrades!" He decided on that one and took a look at the dark night sky. The mudoken hand moon seemed to stare at him, so he looked away at his car.

It was a black, expensive, armored pourshe. Stick operated, (the way the valet preferred it) Scrabskin seats, and a trunk with three secret compartments. Lixor loved it, as it was a way to show off his great buisnesses. After the valet got him all settled in, they took off.

The drive was short and uneventful, so when they arrived at the casino, because of the lights and all, his heart beated faster. What he wouldn't give to be Glock. But they were loyal friends, so he would never try anything.
He waddled in the casino as a steef crossed his path. "Filthy animal." Lixor thought to himself.

Zerox 11-12-2006 09:17 AM

IC: Stan said "Right. Gotcha. Thanks." As he left the room, he saw a rather skinny Slig wander past. He thought he heard it mumble something under it's voice to itself as it eyed him. Stan growled at him as he left through the door.
Out into the night, he watched round. Few were still about, most wrapped up inside with their own affairs. He was annoyed by a sudden, loud noise through a window as a Clacker turned the TV up. As he went on his way to the next destination, he through a rock at the TV through the window and smashed it. The Clacker screamed and ran elsewhere in the house.
Stan finally found an old, rusty door that looked unused. "Hey" he said into the mobile "I think I found a door...let me check if it's locked" It was. He tried to turn the handle quickly. Nothing happened. He looked around to check noone was nearby. He then stepped back and smashed through the door with a loud crash. He turned round and put it back roughly. Good thing it was quite rusty, otherwise this solid door would have resisted a bit more.
He wandered in and looked round. "Uh...which way do I go now?" he said into the mobile.

magic9mushroom 11-12-2006 12:14 PM

"Umm...go left, down the ramp. After that, keep going down until you are down 3 floors. I don't know the way, but I do know where we are going. Tell me when you've gone down 3 flights of stairs."

Zerox 11-13-2006 08:25 AM

"I see. Be back to you in a minute" He, offocurse, followed the directions left, and then down the ramp, and continuing slowly, listening carefully, as he continued down. He carried on until they were down 3 floors. He then checked around, and as he was about to grab the mobile, a long, slimey tongue reached out from the shadows around his legs. He was tripped over, then saw the culprit Fleech as it leapt for his face. He then rolled out the way and grabbed it as it went past. He lobbed the hapless creature out into the darkness. He quickly grabbed the mobile "Hey, uh, I'm down, but can you detect other creatures around? I just got attacked by a Fleech, and I'm worried if there's a nest down here or something. I friggin' hate those scum sacks"

magic9mushroom 11-13-2006 12:14 PM

Lucy activated infrared scanners. There did indeed seem to be more fleeches, but not around the spot where the trace had been. However, there was a very large one somewhere nearby.

"Stan, I think there is a nest, but not near where we're going. Just be careful, I'll tell you if there is one nearby. For now, go left, and try to stay on the same direction. I'll tell you if you need to change direction."
