More PS3s will ship and it will me more attractive as the price goes down and the library gets deeper. Put your pride on the line. This time, 2 years from now, if the PS3 has performed better than the Wii any naysayers have to put this in their sig line
"Statikk and Sony pwn me like cattle". I'll put the names of any takers in my sig line, like "Nintendo and persons X, Y, Z etc. pwn me like cattle." Any takers? Sales mean nothing? Sales mean EVERYTHING for a corporation trying to make money. Sales mean that the games can be continued to be made for the system. Sales lead to profits, which lead to reinvestment of the profits for new consoles. One more thing: The 360 has already sold to consumers more units than the Revolution's shipping to the whole world by the end of the year. Damn, thats a numerical bitchslapping if there ever was one. Addendum: I'm not a hater of Nintendo's games, I'm just a hater on their idiotic business practices, shitty controllers, and lack of 3rd party support. |
Yes, Sales = everything. But Nintendo needs far less sales (of consoles and games) than Sony does, because they lose less per console. So some sales > other sales.

:
you gotta be kidding me. Have you even seen the third party support for the wii... *ahem* Ubisoft has 8 games in the Wii's launch line up, including Splinter Cell: DA Activision has Call of Duty 3, Marvel: Ultimate Alliance, And Tony Hawk Square Enix has Dragon Quest Swords, and FF crystal Chronicles 2 THQ has Avatar, Spongebob, and Cars Midway has Blitz: the League, The Ant Bully, and The Grim adventures of Billy and Mandy EA has Godfather, Need for Speed, and Madden 07 Konami has Elebits, and possibilities of a Metal Gear on the wii The list goes on...Third party developers have already said that they are fully intrested in the wii 5 similar games between the PS3 and Wii's launch line-up, but the Wii has more games...in the launch line-up |
I think this argument is moot. Nintendo is going for a different audience than the ps3. Nintendo is going to be far more popular with the casual gamer while ps3 will do well with hardcore gamers. For myself, I have seen nothing about the ps3 that would make me want to buy it, while my palms keep sweating at the thought of playing the Wii. I'm not anybody's fanboy. The Wii just looks like it's providing a hell of a lot of fun.
|
for once, oanst, I agree with you
|
Whoops. I change my position. Fuck the Wii.
|
:p haha, yur fuhny.
Ah well, still can't wait for it to come out |
does anyone know how much the games will be for it?
|
not as much as the games for the PS3 and Xbox 360, that's for sure
since they don't cost as much to make |
How much will the PS3's games cost
The Xbox360's cost $50-$60 dollars? Im expecting the Wii to be about $40-$50. |
Thats a safe bet, the PS3's wil probably be about as much as the 360's, if not more. But I'm not sure yet
|
Interesting discussion on gamasutra on whether Sony can convince developers and consumers of the PS3's dominance. Lots of well-thought out responses from people within the industry.
|
Sure, the PS3 will clash its shiny gauntlets with the Wii and its rainbow feather dusters....while the 360 exists as the middle man.

$39.99 for the regular controller-$19.99 for the nunchuck- $19.99 for the classic controller PS3= System $1,000,000.00- Games $60.00-$70.00 $50 for the regular controller. On topic of the first post, The PS3 wont bomb it has a large fan base. Sure the price is high, but fans of video games will buy them, if they are lucky to get one-first in line-. The Wii looks like it will sell like crazy every one seems to be hyped up about the controller. I am going to stick with my Xbox 360, it has the games I am most into. |
If the Wii had a controller instead of a gimmick and another 100 dollars under its hood I'd get it. Not now. I don't really care too much for Nintendo nostalgia. I had a Genesis and a Playstation growing up and I hate Mario. I hate Mario and all his friends and their pastel fagatronics. I also don't really care about Link, Samus, and Resident Evil so whats the draw? If you don't like that Nintendo stuff why even bother? Red Steel? Bah, 360 has better exclusives.
|
ehh...I don't care. I'm getting a Wii. All I got money for too.
|
Why is it that you hate fun, Statick? Why, damn you? Why?
|
I just guess I never understood the Link fanboyism. That franchise is major league boring. Mario blows compared to Sonic, and Samus is suppressing the Vectorman game. That bitch! Also, even though N64 was graphically more powerful than the Playstation I always thought the games on it looked very poor to Nintendo. Nintendo has a bunch of fruity stuff and ports out the ying yang, all powered by a system that can't bring the eye candy goods compared to the othet two systems. All this innovation is going to land Nintendo flat on its face. Again. Its not 1995 anymore, dammit.
|
Vector man was fun. But was not all that popular. Nintendo has a knack with making game series that stick
|
Just kidding about the Vectorman thing. Found my Vectorman games in my room and I've been playing them recently. Good times.
I wouldn't be surprised to see the order be... 360 Wii PS3 I'm no fanboy, can't afford any of them! |
heh they stole the X360 button too (didnt read pgs 2-3 but will now) x.x
yesh ps is teh failz. every ps fan in my school bar the select few (why did I have to know em? i feel dirty) who are stil gonna get it. my friend deans gonna buy a 1000 euro TV!? what the hell! |

Hmm, I must come back at those words I said. When it was first introduced (downloading stuff), it paused when you played a game, whether you were online or offline. Seems that there was an update, wich I only recently got, since I'm not connected to XBL, by default (I have to share the cable with the PC). But last time I signed in, it updated. So now it downloads while playing games offline. Fine by me.
Now to get a router... |
Now most of you don't know me but...
I'm going to wait and see. What if the ps3 rocks? Or the wii rocks? It is all a matter of strategy. I do kinda agree with the 360 and Wii idea. |
