Is there such a thing as a sevensome?
|
Oh Statikk:
I DISAGREE! |
Yeah... I disagree too. Most of the girls in the videos are 13 at the most.
Have you never seen how slutty the dolls are dressed, Statikk? I don't know how anyone could deny that the dresses are of the "sexually appealing" nature. The dolls may look 16, but my little cousiin in the second grade is obsessed with them. Not really an appropriate influence if you ask me. |
So, they dress very sexually. Big deal. Ever been in junior high or a frosh?
And Super Munch, I was talking about the dolls. That black chick is a stone cold fox. |
Yes... And I'm sure the number of girls who dress this way, have 0 self respect for themselves, and probably very low self esteem will increase significantly as this type of fashion is pressed up on them earlier and earlier in their lives. Maybe junior high or whatever is the typical age for slutty clothing (although I think it's just as wrong because they're still very young), but second grade? Come on... That's not right at all.
|
Lower self esteem? More like give it. If yah got it flaunt it. When you're in high school or 8th grade you're 15, 16 years old. Thats plenty old enough to make up your mind how you dress.
|
So if you ever have a daughter, you shall allow her to dress as a prostitute when she reaches her teen years?
But I'm still not sure why you're talking about older girls. They aren't the ones playing with the dolls and therefore being influenced by them. And even if you think it's fine and dandy for a 15-year-old high schooler to... flaunt it, what do you think of the 10-year-olds dressing in such a way? Feh, I think it's wrong all across the board. It teaches kids that they have to be super thin, dress overly revealing, and wear layers upon layers of make-up to be beautiful. Most girls don't look like the Bratz dolls' image of perfection. Tons of young girls are going to feel insecure about their bodies as they try to achieve such a look but fail. |

:eeek: |
Yeah, but these dolls are targetted at the tweens, the 14-17 market. Between 13 and 18. MGA is trying to get older girls to play with dolls. And there is no way in hell I'm getting so much as a pet much less having children, and girls at that. Yecch, everybody knows that girls have cooties and are inferior to men at everything. Except that. You know.
|
Since when have tweens been 14-17? I consider thems to be teenagers. Tweens are prepubescent.
|
Ah, between 8-12. I always thought it was 14-17. I haven't said it in a conversation or anything so this faux pas hasn't bit me in real life but in the digital world? Oops. Anyhow, point stands, 8th grade you can dress however you please.

Barbie is way hotter than Bratz dolls.
>_> <_< |
Not since they gave her a breast reduction.
I always had a love-hate relationship with Ken though... |
Garbble. The dolls are not being targetted to middle schoolers. Maybe a little, but their main target, the bull's eye, is the younger ones. The ones who would still be playing with baby dolls and Barbies. The 6-12 year olds.
I have a lot more respect for Barbie. She may dress a little skanky too, but she's always had better goals to teach the kids. She's been a astronaut, a doctor, etc., etc. The most the Bratz dolls will ever live up to are things like gothic hookers and belly dancers. Hah, Nate, about the belly fat/hipsters problem. If the girls can not fulfill one of those, they tend to compensate that by trying to do even more of the latter two. Then you just have more squishy girls with more make-up, more revealing clothes, etc. |
No, they dolls are teens as said by MGA and though the target is 6 and up they are clearly trying to crack the older market. Also, this isn't some stupid little thing flying under the radar. This Bratz line is largely replacing Barbie and will make MGA well over 3 billion dollars this year.
