Well I think she said she joined because she enjoys games and Oddworld games and she wants to talk to people and also to keep a watchful eye on her son.

I'd be mortified and extremely awkward if my mom talked on a forum that I talked on too.

Anywho, most teenage stereotypes are negative. "Most teenagers aren't capable of mature conversation" is the exact opposite of "Most thirty-year-olds are mature in conversation." A teenager to defy a stereotype is a positive thing. An adult to defy a "stereotype" (I see it more as an "expectation") in this way is a negative.

That's exactly why I delibarately conceal from my mom every single forum I go to.
However, for me it is no threat. My mom doesn’t even like Oddworld (she keeps saying it’s childish and stuff like that) , let alone want to go on a forum with a whole bunch of Oddworld-crazed maniacs.

I don't stereotype people because I ,myself, do not like to be stereotyped.

I'm not a gamer. Hell, I'm not good at most games but for some reason I am kick butt at Abe when everyone else around me said it was to hard. Hard..yes, complex...yes, fun? Absolutely.

The Exoddus isn't at the age where he is mortified by me yet. I cross my fingers and hope that the day where he is will never come but I know it will sooner or later.

When it comes to the safety of my child you bet your sweet booty that I am going to check what he does online. I may not be able to catch it all but sure as hell can try. I just want to make sure he is safe.

It can be a dark and nasty place out there.

PS if you are suspicious of me..that's fine. Like I said in my original post, most of you are at an age where I'd expect that from you. (Oh! Was that a stereotype??)
