:
The glass helm is pretty neat... at least it's a lot better than the Morrowind one. It's basically a helmet that comes down to the nose, with separate holes for the eyes. Think of the Gray Fox's gray cowl... it's kinda like that, only made of glass. |
Thanks a bunch, got all Daedric now but the helmet. And since Vampires or Marauders don't wear helmets, I might be a little stuck. Tried an Oblivion gate too, the only lootable ones don't have helmets. I suppose it's just a random thing in a chest somewhere?
Edit : Nevermind, I found a very neat way to get the entire Glass/Daedric set. Head to the North of the Imperial City, along the road there you'll find the Roxey Inn. Make sure you're the right level for Glass/Daedric, and go in. There'll be 4 people, one is a woman in full Daedric Armour, the rest are 3 men in Glass Armour, only one of them, which is a Khajit, will have the helmet. Set your settings to very easy so you don't die, and kill the one who has what you want. Then just take the stuff and run outside. There is a guard on horseback outside, and a guard on a bench, so you'll get caught. Just pay the 1000 gold fee, much better than heading to dungeons 24/7. |
:
then pay off the bounty for 500 from a fence. Cool thing one day, I was chased all around Bravil, soI jumped off the bridge, into the water, and swam until they gave up. |
:
Another cool thing about Oblivion: the Dark Brotherhood. Seriously. Like... best story line ever. So many great plot twists and whatnot. |
Yeah some parts were really evil.
xX*SPOILERS*Xx Like when you had to kill everyone in Cheydinhal from Lucien Lachance, seriously, that was messed up. And then there was the traitor's hide-out in the light-house. Seriously, he had his Mother's shriveled head in there. End of teh xX*SPOILERS*Xx |
I took that and put it in one of my houses. :p
|
T_T
Norman Bates! By the way, anyone know if the PC Version is worth buying for mods? 360 Version is getting a little boring, since it gets rather apparent you have no choice in what you do. I wanna be a Necromancer and kill the Mage's guild, but the both the Necromancers and the Mage's Guild are giving me a big fat ''NO WAI!11!''. And all these stupid, official downloads. 200 points for some horse armour? |
:
As for PC vs. 360, there does seem to be a slight decline in replay value from Morrowind. That's not going to stop me from making a second character eventually, but still. PC version might be pretty sweet if you have a PC that can run it. I mean, people poop out third party mods 24/7. I'm content with 360, but what's really killing the replay value for me is the randomly generated loot. I loved Morrowind because, even up to my last character, I was constantly finding new items and trinkets in secret, tucked-away areas. Randomly generated loot kinda kills that whole charm that treasure hunting in Morrowind had. |
:
:
Yeah, I thought killing Lucian was most mean. :
...Cliffracer flying in the sky!! Oh cliffracer flying so high... |
:
Breezed through the Arena quests within the hour, doing the Grey Prince quest in the progress. No challenge for a lvl 30 War Mage, with a 16 + 60 dmg Ebony Claymore, and a 85 dmg spell. Also, some of you know me under a different name, Mojo. I have that screen name for a long time now. You can imagine the surprise when I walked into the Anvil Fighters Guild, second floor, and found a Dog, called, Mojo! |
:
I made a 100-point charm spell; I pretty much had to. My infamy is at 120 and my personality is at like... 40 something. Everyone hated my guts, but now, everyone goes from a disposition of 8 or 9 to 100. For ten seconds, that is. Rox. Speaking of Spell Making/Enchanting. Woo-boy. Sigil stones are crazy. It took me a while to figure out that they were random, though! Now I save right before I grab the stone, and if I get one don't like, I reload. Got two with a Chameleon enchantment in a row, lucky me. Made them into jewelry. Now, with the Ring of Khajiit, I've got 95% Chameleon, which is wicked awesome and highly recommended. :D |
I hate Chameleon rings. Got the Khajit Ring and some 30% Ring I found in a dungeon. It's pretty annoying being invisible.
Oh, and I found a giant mudcrab if anyone gives a damn. It's at the very back of Greenmeade Cave, which is located above the ''ld'' on Gold Road. It's not a Dreugh. And anyone got a screenshot of Imperial Dragon Armour? Couldn't wait 2 weeks so I started a new game. I guess it's the same as Martin Septim wears? |
:
:
If anyone knows of that guy in the Chorrol bar who asks about his sons, do the quest he gives you. Kill a few goblins and you get an awesome sword. It's called Chilldren or something similar. |
I got Oblivion today, but I take it this isn't how it's supposed to look...
Any suggestions? :P |
Ouch....
I think someone needs a new graphic card. |
Ok, I think it was mentioned before, but in the Roxey Inn, directly north of The Imperial City, there's a full set of Daedric and Glass armor. I know THAT has been said before.
Thing is, once you attack one of the heavy armored guys, ALL the people inside will fight (Because the armored ones are part of a gang, read the note on one of their bodies). Now, would a Inn-keeper, an old redguard and an Imperial Legion Guard have a chance against the heavy armor guys (Cos that's the teams they will fight in)? No! So help them out, and try to keep the Redguard alive. He's the Master Heavy Armor trainer! Another thing. The Inn keeper of Roxey inn, will tell you of 2 quests. One involves a Necromancer cave (Some good staves in there, I got a Greater Lightning Staff, 80 points damage, 3000 charges), and the other involving the village of Aleswell. The Aleswell quest is funny. You should check it out! Hmm, Alchemy is simple to level up, if you use the Dupe glitch. Too bad you can't select the effect you want, on Master, it automatically selects the first effect... Oh well, security's on 96 (stupid that I took it on level 55, instead of 60. Now the leveling up will take a great amount of lockpicking. That, and I won't get the attribute-bonuses. My advise is to stay clear of the skeleton key if Security is one of your major skills). Also, make sure to level up minor skills, if all the major skills are 100, you won't be able to level up anymore, and get the bonuses Does anyone know a shop with alot of gold? All the shops never seem to go above 1700, with investing. |
AlphaScrab, you do not need to fight. Just run outside, pay the guard or a Doyen and return to the inn. Everyone will be safe (except the guy you just owned), so there's no chance of anyone important dying.
|
God damn it, I killed the heavy armor guy.
Oh well, time to get eaten by rats. |
Odd, Cyber, everytime I try to kill one of the Daedric, or Glass armor guys, his friends start attacking me. And then the Imperial LEgion Guard attacks them too, and the HEavy armor guy too! And the innkeeper too! It always turns into a massacre! Good thing I kept on fighting, or the Heavy Armor guy was dead.
Heh, there's alot of Oblivion gates opening up now. Does anyone know why there's sometimes 2 gates leading to the same oblivian (???) Sigil Tower? Cuz that seems like a waste of time... Doing it from the first gate, and then closing it, and then having to close the other one too! |
Oblivion gates are totally randomised, which also means you can get in the same one twice. Oblivion gates are seriously boring anyway, enter small tower, go up, enter big tower, go through Dark Salvation, Rending Halls etc., take Sigil Stone >.<
And everyone in the Tavern is supposed to fight. Isn't there a guard on a bench outside, aswell as one inside? If not, look for the Horse patrol, Wait till it's passing, kill the guy you want and run back outside, the Horse patrol should find you. |
Yeah I know, but the point was you can't just pick on one, and keep the rest from fighting. That was my point.
EDIT: Does anyone know what Vaerminas Staff of Corruption does? I know what the Staff of Worms and Sanguines Rose do (hell I even had my own Mannimarco for a while), but the Staff of Corruption? I dunno! |
Got Oblivion today,
Best. Game. Evar. I have a question though, You know when you come out of the sewers, At the start., Across the river is a dungeon. I did that first, Went all the way through. Took about 1 and a half hours, Do i have to do it again at any point (Missions) Because it was quite hard. Near the end. |
You don't need to walk at all. Go to your map and look for the location you want to go, push A on it and it will ask you if you want to fast-travel there. Press yes and you teleport there instantly. This ruins the game though, trust me, just buy or steal a horse and ride there.
Edit: Oh, you mean Dungeons. Dungeons should never take more than 10 minutes. God knows how it took you 1 hour and a half 0_o |
:
Then ran from 6 Skeletons for 5 minutes before remembering i'm an assasin with a bow. And its a big place. I kept going through doors. And they had Blue trees on the doors... It was cool. There was, People, Zombies and Skeletons inside. Doubt that helps. :P And I explored inside... Alot. It also had little blue glowing stones inside, One was worth 100 gold. Stone of Zuran,... Or something behinning with Z. Also, I have to get Paralize. This looks so fun. Don't think its a spoiler. Just some guy falling off a cliff. http://video.google.com/videoplay?do...livion&pl=true |
Ruins like that are great for exploring. A lot of them are pretty similar, although none are exactly alike (to my memory). Plus, you get those blue Welkynd [sp] stones, which are awesome for any character that uses magic, and the Valra stones (I think that's what you're talking about, Cool), which are simply the shit for any character that doesn't know SoulTrap.
That first ruin which Cool is talking about is unusually big, though. Fun fact: you can knock off any of the Welkynd stones with ranged spells; you don't need to use a bow. AS, the Staff of Corruption creates a clone of whatever you cast it on. The clone and the original will then fight to the death. However, I've never heard of the Staff of Worms. What does it do? Is it random loot, or quest specific? |
:
I have to stop pressing every button i see, You know the part with two small pillars, With six square buttons on... Well. I pressed them all, Thats where the skeletons came from :P I noticed you could knick them off, After finding a scroll and it said some woman found out you could, Never shto any down though. Also, I thought this was quite funny, On the way to Jeffre (Sp?) I found a Khajiit highwayman... I didn't want to pay with my shiny new coins, So i Ran. After a few random shots. I hit him right between the eyes. What a good shot that was. |
Yesterday , I got oblivion . We drove home as I lightly flicked through the manual , and anticipation glowed inside me , I really wanted to be a Orc alchemist , and would spend all my time wandering around collecting plants to make into deadly poisons. When we got home , I quickly put the disk in my windows xp , home edition , to get on it as soon as possible . But alas , as soon as i was brought up to the character selection scene , things went wrong! I selected orc from the table of species , and edited his face a little , yet i could not see the face! so i blindly lunged in the game , but the whole screen was white! I could hear mr whatsisname come down to see me and whatnot , but i couldnot see him . hopefully the game will work on my new mac . I pray it does.
Anyone know what went wrong with oblivion on my xp? I think it was my videocard. |
:
Edit : Outlaw, like I said to Goresplatter, you need a new video card. If you can't get one, you'll have to put the graphics and lighting effects down to low. And the Imperial Orrery was released today. Don't buy it. Seriously, first we get that shitty Horse Armour, now this? It's 150 points, you spend 10 minutes running back and forth through some closely-packed camps beating up bandits, then you go to the Orrery and activate it. It's a snazzy thing to look at, but not worth money. The only real ''function'' of it, is that it adds an extra spell to you. The spell is pretty useless for the most part though. It increases an attribute by 20, and decreases another by 20. |
:
I've heard someone say something about it on the Oblivion forums, But... What is it? |
That's the room inside the Arcane University. There's a big structure attached to the Arch Mages Tower, and only a woman called Bothiel (iirc) is allowed to go in. And she doens't have the key. Apparantly, with this new dwonloadable content, you can get into it.
The Staff of Worms is fun when fighting, but you can't talk to resurrected humanoids. Sucked, cos for a certain Thieves Guild quest, I had to steal a ring from the Chorrol Countess, but the one person besides the Countess herself, who knew the location of it, got killed in the Sanguine Shrine quest. Funny quest, I recommend it. Sanguines Rose is a fun staff too. What's up with the staff you get from Sheogorath? I mean, shoot the staff, the shootee gets aggro towards you, and the staff spawns a Daedroth for the aggro shootee. I know which Item I'll sacrifice in the main quest. Does anyone know how to lower my Personality? I wanna do Namiras Shrine quest, and you need a personalyti of less than 20. Mine is 70, and I can only drink 4 cheap wines. Thus my personality won't get lower than 30 something. Hircines Quest isn't worth it, although you have to do it to do the last Daedric Shrine quest, which needs you to do all the other ones first. Killing a unicorn. Bah. And for what? The Savious Hide? 25 % Resist Magica? Tssk... One more thing, you should get the location of Boethias Shrine from Bogra in Bogra Goods, in Western Cheydinhal, but she don't say anything, now I have to search! Okay, enuff rambling, time for me to go to class. Bye bye. |
Oblivion rox :D :D
Anyways, does anyone know where i can get alot of lockpicks? I keep using them up, and i really need them... Like, does anyone sell them? Also, where can i find 5 grand Soul gems?? :-/ |
Lockpicks? Try the Thieves Guild. In Waterfront, there's a small village south west of the main buildings, really close. There's a wall that connects one of the houses to the main wall. At midnight, there should be a Redguard standing there. Pickpocket him (Endless supply). Also, alot of bandits have Lockpicks, as well as some Goblins. You should try Nocturnals Shrine Quest too, a 40 points bonus to the Lockpick skill, and the unbreakable Skeleton Key (Not handy when Security is major skill, will hardly level up then...)
Grand Soul Gems? Have you tried the shop in the Cyrodiil Market Place? When facing the main shops (2 locations), it should be in the back left corner. Mystic Emporium or something. For the rest, they are leveled loot. |
outlaw king, I found a mod that makes the game work for older graphics cards. Look for OLDBLIVION, dl it, install it, and voila, it works :)
However, I'm getting a new graphics card tomorrow, so bb bad-graphics Oblivion! :) Btw, does anyone know how to become a Vampire, other than the guy you can speak to in the Dark Brotherhood? Vampirism sounds fun to me :P |
:
Namira's Ring, the reward you get for her quest, isn't that great. I wouldn't worry about it. Cuirass of the Savior's Hide would have been a good reward, if it weren't ugly as sin. In the end, I sacrificed one of the blunt weapons, because I don't use blunt. I think it was Volundrung, the one you get from Malacath or whatever. Boethia, on the other hand, has a kick-ass quest AND reward. Tournament for Goldbrand. Awesome tournament, awesome katana. You can also get another kick-ass katana from Mephala, who has a deliciously evil quest. The Ebony Blade has less base damage than Goldbrand, but it casts Absorb Health and Silence. Great for any ninja/samurai characters (like me) out there. It's not too far north on the road to Bruma, just above the Imperial City. Thanks to the stupid Umbra glitch, I can't finish the LAST Daedric quest, meaning I can never do the stupid "ultimate" quest for that giant sea monster-looking freak shrine up in the mountains. I hear you get an awesome skill-based reward for doing his/its quest. |
See, and that is where my problem is... I can't get Namira's ring, cuz my personality is 89!
|
Thanks Gore , we are not getting a mac anymore , but we are giving our XP the works . New video card , more memory , cute little troll on top ect . Oblivion should be up and running in no time . And dammit! I reallly wanted to be a Goblin! Oh welll , an Orc will do. :)
OK |
Woah.
It's something about the Oblivion fanbase that really pisses me off. I don't know, mabye I'm just a Morrofag sourpuss, but you all suck. :D Well, most. Where has sweet RatMatt disappeared to? I recently started a new character, mostly just to screw around with facegen, and you know what I realised? Sigil stones can be used for something. I can hear a lot of 'Well, Christ, of course you can' comments brewing, but I really didn't know you could make enchanted thingies out of them. Niftyish. Anyway, my new character is this super pale, purple-nosed Khajiit person, so you know he's a coke fiend. |
:
Morrowind was the better game. If it had Oblivion's graphics (or better) and fighting system, then it would be perfect. Exploring in Oblivion is pointless, 90% of the dungeons blow. Stale, repetitive, and carrying lame random loot. Yuck. Still like yapping about Oblivion, though. XD |
:
Mabye it's just because Morrowind was such an insanely great game, and all of it's fans were expecting God in game form with Oblivion. Either way, it's a good game, but hell, every bandit you'll ever see is more uberful than Divyth Fyr. But Wabbajack! Think of the Wabbajack! |
:
You'd shit your pants with glee whenever you found a Daedric Dai-Katana or, sweet Jesus, a Daedric Mother Fucking Tower Shield in Morrowind. Now it's like... "Another one? It took me hours/weeks/months to find this in Morrowind!" and stuff. You felt good when you finally got one. Now, boring. But yes. Wabbajack. I'm thinking that's definitely my new custom title. It's so much fun to say! |
