Each hero of the Quintology will have their own moon, that's for sure. I don't know where the idea that Munch turned into insects came from, but now both you and Oddsville have said it, so unless you got it from him, I'm going to tentatively presume there's an actual source on that information. Makes on wonder, though, what the connection between Gabbits and 'Skrikits' is. But, I think that's more of an in-game element than an in-universe property of the heroes - Munch had birds flying around his head, after all, but there's no known connection between the two, unlike Mudokons and bird.

Oddworld has many moons, as you can see by playing through the Free-Fire Zone in Abe's Oddysee - over 20. But like I said, all the five heroes will have their own.

i have a question for you guys :
in the final movie of MO abe posses on the "old" way like in AO & AE.

why?

Esus 08-29-2004 05:31 AM

The orbs are a gameplay feature.

Question:
In what year was each game released?
At a guess, I'd say: AO: '95. AE: '98. MO '02. Can anyone confirm or correct this?

Oddish 08-29-2004 05:44 AM

It might be like this:

AO: 1997
AE: 1998
MO: 2001

Wil 08-30-2004 01:41 AM

Esus, please. The FAQ is there for a reason.

caracal 08-31-2004 04:18 PM

um, kinda expanding on my question...have any of you guys seen any other quintology moon? I'm pretty sure I saw Munch's moon in AE...so I'm wondering if the other marked moons are visible in AO...or some point in AE I missed

Xavier 08-31-2004 11:10 PM

where in AE did you saw the moon?
give us the screen code please, so we can find it back (pressing pause and it will be the code you see)

Wil 09-01-2004 05:11 AM

There is a moon in the Free-Fire Zone that looks like it might by a footprint. But you see, I doubt it is, as the future characters aren't actually fully designed.

Software Bug 09-01-2004 05:30 AM

I have seen the moon and it looks like a "rare" footprint...
And Max, why do you know the future characters aren't actually fully designed....
We know OWI is full with suprises!!!:D:D

Feeco executive 09-03-2004 10:28 AM

Cyber-Slig 09-03-2004 10:39 AM

Oddish 09-03-2004 10:54 AM

i have a question for you guys :
in the final movie of MO abe posses on the "old" way like in AO & AE.

why?

Maybe Abe was out of spooce so he had to possess Lulu the old way. And maybe that's why Abe was having so much trouble keeping possession of Lulu in the final movie?

Anyway, I have a few questions:
1) When Abe possesses Lulu he is standing out on the loading dock, but when we see Lulu enter the Gabbiar Auction Abe is up on a platform. Did Abe depossess Lulu then possess him again from a different spot or something?

2) Why did Abes voice change? I know Alf has given many reasons for this, like how Abe changes when he gets older and he hit puberty etc. But I want to know what the "real-life" reason is. Was Abe even voiced by Lorne in AO?

3) And finally, I want to know if anyone can read the words in this Daily Deception. I used to think that the words were just a blur, but I have managed to pick out little pieces of sentences, (Mainly at the top of each paragraph) such as "Members of the Supreme Courts Liberal..." and "A decision could come as early as Tuesday morning." and "A decade ago when a..." Can anyone else read this?

Software Bug 09-04-2004 01:52 AM

1) euhm deposses is the only posible thing or else munch had to bring abe to that place :D hm gamemakers dont think on everything :D but they make greate games :D

2) eurm jup i have the same question also ;)

3) eurm no ,
where did you get this one???

Wil 09-04-2004 02:52 AM

How do you pronounce "Vykker"

With an 'eye' sound; not 'vicar.'

Abe's Exoddus used a different sound compression scheme from Abe's Oddysee, so while the sounds themselves are technically the same, they sound different. Alternatively, Josh Gabriel did some additional uncredited vocal work in AO, whereas Abe's Exoddus is purely Lorne (except where credited otherwise, of course), resulting in different sound bytes.

Or, if you prefer, Lorne wanted to try a different voice for Abe, but found he didn't like the deeper tone as much. He was aiming the strike a kind of middle-ground in Munch's Oddysee, but I haven't ever checked to see if this is the case. I've heard all three explanations for Oddworld Inhabitants. They're almost as fickle as Alf. :p

scrabinator 09-04-2004 02:59 AM

What about the daily deception? Can anyone else read bits and pieces of it aswell?

Software Bug 09-04-2004 03:36 AM

Alpha 09-04-2004 03:40 AM

I mean, is it Vykker as in "vicar" or Vykker as in "viker" (rhymes with biker)

Esus 09-04-2004 10:27 AM

viker, which rhynes with biker, which Max clearly stated.

Al the Glukkon 11-20-2004 08:53 AM

I have a question. I just joined the fan club. Is there anything else you get besides the Christmas cards and other things in the mail?

Oddish 11-20-2004 01:12 PM

Oh yeah, I heard some Oddworld fans got sticky stickers, MO ones. And a lovely letter from Alf.

Nate 11-21-2004 12:43 PM

yeah, very nice stickers that are even now decorating my PC. This was a few years back though.

I think the stickers were leftovers from GDC.

Nepharski 11-27-2004 09:52 PM

Here is a poser, if ever there was one.

The cord which extends from a Slig's mask and into his mechanical pants...what purpose does it serve?

Zach Roy Wilson 11-27-2004 09:52 PM

Ok... in AE Alf is with Abe in the dessert. He is one of the five muds you need heal from brew before you take off to FeeCo. And now here is the glitch, when you let them help you activate the well, then just leave them there. Finnish the game as usual (and with usual I mean saving all muds, you cruel basterds :P), and in the ending movie! There he is! ALF!!! But I left him in Necrum! How the hell did he get back! How did he get out of a blown up necrum mine's!

And here is your glitch...
After activating the well to feeco have you and the guys go back to the screen with the brew machine and you can save em in that bird portal back there...
And as for the explosion and them surviving they must've been in a lucky spot...

Nepharski 11-27-2004 09:59 PM

But...you can elect not to save their (worthless) hides.

Wil 11-28-2004 02:06 AM

But that would be silly because it means Alf being at the Rehab is ridiculous. Play the game properly.

...Or maybe they would chose to follow you, via the well, and...

*Plays tape featuring Bad Ending of Abe's Exoddus.*

Nate 11-28-2004 12:57 PM

Whats more ridiculous is that five free muds would turn up in the mines and then start working, instead of just standing around shmoozing, or possibly even trying to help.

The Marching Mudokon 12-03-2004 12:33 AM

Hello, I was wondering: where can you get those Stranger cards from?

Wil 12-05-2004 03:51 AM

A pack popped up on eBay a few months ago, but other than that, you'd have to go back in time to March 2004 and go to the Game Developers' Conference.

The Marching Mudokon 12-07-2004 11:33 PM

Hmmm, eBay sounds the easiest way to get them. Can anyone tell me the types of creatures from Stranger?

P.S Is anyone planning to sell the Stranger cards? If so please PM me.

Wil 12-08-2004 12:08 PM

I sure can tell you the creatures.

There's the Stranger, who may or may not be a Steef, a highly noble race of centaur-like beings. There are two unnamed species of Natives, one small, thin and salamander-like, the other squat, fat and toad-like. There are the Clakkerz, hick townsfolk with Western drawls and a habit of invading indiginous people's lands, and there are the Wolvarks, an industrial race with a habit of victimising Clakker settlements - there appear to be four or five varieties of these.

Then there are the various critters that Stranger uses as Live Ammo: Chippunkz, Stunkz, Fuzzles, Stingbees, Zappflies, Thud Slugs, Boombats and Bolamites. A Vykkers will also make an appearance in the game. There are also creatures closely related to Slogs, called Slegs.

And there are opples, although technically they're plants, or rather the fruit of plants. :D

Nate 12-08-2004 12:37 PM

Although its entirely possible that they were just joking when they mentioned the opple.

Esus 12-08-2004 12:52 PM

There's a new screen on the EA site with opples and a large opple sign in :p

Wil 12-08-2004 01:14 PM

According to Alf, there are also Grubbs and... dun dun duuun! Gloktigi! He also listed Wolvarks, Outlaws and Outlaw minions separately, so I guess we're still going to have to be unsure about the exact nature of them.

Nate 12-08-2004 01:27 PM
