Of course satan is portrayed as being a bad guy in your bible. As I previously mentioned, he is used to keep all those who follow 'god' in check. To properly represent good, you must make an example of the polar opposite. You know, 'evil'. In short, satan is used as a scape goat. People blame sin and evil in this world on him, when actually, the sin and evil can be traced back to mankind.

Satan used to be good, but he craved power and wanted to get higher and more powerful than God. In doing so, he lost his way from light and truth and fell into darkness. Satan got so jealous when God picked Jesus to be the savior instead of him, so he started a war in heaven. After this, Satan and all his followers were cast out of the presence of God and placed on Earth since it is such a far out of the way planet. God sent us down to Earth so we could be tested and a veil is placed over our minds so we do not remember when we lived with God before in heaven. Without memory of our pre-lives, we are free to choose who we worship while on the Earth. God is seperating the bad from the good to see who we follow. Those that follow God have mantles of power placed upon them, and those that follow Statan cannot return to be with God. God made the universe and everything in it. Satan had the power of light taken away from him, so all he can make are demons and unclean things. How can you worship such a looser?

For f*cks sakes Oddguy, i don't get annoyed easily but the whole "you'll change your ways when the end days come" really pissed me off. If i knew when the last days were then fine, i wouldn't care...i'd be all "Good, we'll wait til then, then." but we don't...and thats whats so annoying. He also gets envious when people believe in other deities and thus sends them to Hell...he is sinning. So, who do we go for. The ambitious Arch Angel who was thrown from Heaven for wanting to be equal with the deity who created him...or the hypocritical, overly violent, alcoholic God? Hmmm...

I can put up with religious people, and funnily enough, I to like Buddhists. They don't try to force you into their religion, they don't say you'll all die if you don't follow their religion. They keep to themselves, they are always kind.

We have a Christian family who lives around the corner from us. Unlike most Christians, they don't pick and choose the parts of the bible they like best, but rather they follow just about all of the rules.

They don't eat bacon, they don't eat non-scaled animals of the sea (prawns, squid, crabs, etc) they don't wear garments made from more than one kind of fabric. And as far as I'm aware, they don't let their women cook while menstruating.

Actually, I think I better watch my back. I don't observe the sabbath, and the bible says that means my blood shall be put upon upon me. *locks the doors*

Look I am Catholic and I know the act hint I said the act of being gay is a sin. Being gay or haveing sex with the same sex is a sin the same for everything we do for us and not God is a sin. You can be the most nicest man and generous person in the world and be gay but your forgetting one important thing and thats Jesus Christ. It doesn't mean your going strieght to Hell. No it means you just made a mistake and God understands that we are not perfect. But if you don't accept Christ yes you will go to Hell even if your a saint. Its because you don't have Christ in your hearts is the reason why your going to Hell. When we don't have God in our lives we stray awey from him through sin thus we go to Hell. When we recieve Christ in our hearts we may still sin but God has given us eternal life and there is no giveing that back. In other words if you sin and you have God in your life he will help you back up and get you back on the right track but your not going to Hell because you know Christ and still sined aganst him. Thats how simple it is. Thats how you get into Heaven. But if you don't know Christ you won't go to Heaven plan and simple. Havent you guys ever gone to Sunday School when you were little?

I sin because I am not perfect. But I know and God knows I am not perfect so he helps me, and I already know even when I sin I still have that gift of eternal life. I've accepted the fact that I am a sinner. I know when I sin I have Christ and I won't go to Hell for it. Everybody sins its just a matter if you have Christ in your heart thats all. But there shouldn't be any debate over this. Thats how simple this is.

The only way a Christian can ever win this argument is if they state that they blindly believe in God. It's blind faith, and the sensible Christian would understand that, rather than try to prove the un-provable.

Faith is a good part of it, and I'm glad you brought that up. In the Bible, after Christ was reurected, Jesus showed Himself to Mary and told her to go and tell the others. Mary told the others and they had to rely on faith that her story was real. But Thomas said he would not believe unless he was able to see the wounds and touch them himself. When Thomas made this statement, he did not realize that 3 days later Jesus would show Himself to everybody and that he'd have to keep his promise and touch Jesus's wounds. Jesus said, "Blessed are those who had faith and believed without seeing." Faith is required, but I also have a testimony of God's power and have been blessed and seen many miracles. I know God is real, because I have a good relationship with Him.:fuzblink:

So what we can say is we have faith and yes phisically we cannot see or hear God. But God is spirit so none of those traits apply.

So can we say in your belief system you have blind faith too in Satin is similar to that of our faith in God only now its the complete opposite? It all comes down to interperatation though. How we see things. Everyone makes up theories and such...and that's all your belief is bassed on....theories. Mine is based on truth, faith and my unshaken testimony of the True living God.
