That reminds me, are Sligs supposed to have evolved from Paramites? They're roughly the same size when pantsless, and have a very similar body structure.

I never thought of that but it's possible. The Paradudes are actually quite a bit bigger than a pantsless Slig, but that certainly doesn't rule out the possbility. However, I personally don't think it is true, as there's not enough evidence for it. My guess is that both species obtained the face tentacles via parallel evolution. On Earth, the structure of the eye evolved independently no less than 40 times within various creatures, so if that's possible, so is two unrelated creatures evolving tentacles.

Beyond the nose tentacles, Sligs and Paramites share a similar torso, diminished hind legs, and most of all the same proportion of the length of the forearm to the bicep.
However, unlike Paramites, domestic Sligs use their arms for handling guns, machine controls etc, so the forearms are more developed than the biceps. I imagine that Sligs in nature, who don't have pants for locomotion, don't have "Popeye" arms, and probably have a very similar gait to that of the Paramite. Or maybe not... About dat Gamespeakâ„¢: as far as I can tell, flying Sligs can't order Slogs, either. It's still fun to make them talk, though. My most favorite creatures are Scrabs, Mudokons with her funny voice, Shrykull, Fuzzles, Paramites, Sligs . I like all creatures with crazy Bodys cool faces rummy voices and ugly farts...löl! My favorite creatures would have to be the Fleeches. They are so lethal and cunning, and they scare the crap out of you!
I think that Fuzzles will become my favorite after Munch's Oddysee, and Gabbits are pretty cool, too. |
