I too look forward to seeing multiplayer in the Oddworld Quintology, but in the Munch's Exoddus way. Kinda like age of empires where you choose a civilizeation and build thier empire then either make peace or destroy the other civilizations and from what I know so far on ME (if they still kept it in the game?) it sounds as if its gonna revolutionize this type of gyrne (is that the right word?) for games.

Methane gas possession would be nice. Fart.

scrabinator 09-06-2002 11:56 AM

I'd like all these things in ME. But the spooceshrubs never bothered me. One of the reasons I love Oddworld is because of the strange and unique creatures. So I defanately want more creatures and the old creatures. I like the creatures so much.:D I would also like Abes original voice back. His new voice is alright but I liked the old one a lot better.:) I would also like it to be a lot more challenging. I finished MO in a few days.:(

I saw a site where they said MO was too dificult!
I can't believe. I just want it difficult... it is just too easy

dripik 09-10-2002 05:05 PM

Well, I haven't played MO yet, but I think it just looks difficult. I'm sure if someone spends some time to practice (even me :D ), it wouldn't be hard to play it.

Xavier 09-10-2002 05:07 PM

well, I'm not a big big fan of video games, and MO was a way too easy... If you die, it's because you wanted it, nothing more

Shady15 09-11-2002 02:26 PM

I voted for better ranks.

I was overjojed when i found out there would be different kinds of sligs in munch, i was so sick of just poppers and fliging sligs!:D

meech-venerator 09-21-2002 09:41 AM

I guess u all know what I want... kind'uv obvious from my name: meeches, yep... and also time passing, days and nights, ye know... and a good nocturnal creature would be (yes, u guessed right) meeches!(sorry, I'm just obsessed)
that's about it, since I haven't played MO yet, which is too bad.:(

Xavier 09-21-2002 10:03 AM

meeches will probably be in Hand Of Odd, don't worry...

meech-venerator 09-21-2002 11:45 AM

oh I'm not worrying about that... what I'm worrying about is will I ever get to play with'em(no Xbox for me, in the near future, that is)

dripik 09-22-2002 02:06 PM

well, even if they are extincted, they will be in Hand of Odd...
But not in ME or these games, I think... :fuzconf:

*Thinks for a while*.....What would I like in the next OW game? Probably more music. I dont have MO yet, but people have told me that there isnt as much music in it as the previous. I loved the music in the other games as it added to the overall feel of the game. If there is no music in a game, it makes it feel empty and cold.

I would also like more GameSpeak. Having a conversation with another creature sounds really kool and fun. I would also probably like to see some more creatures, like maybe some aquatic creatures (if they dont already have any [other than Munch]), it would be kool to interact with them with Munch while underwater.

The idea of time transitions sounds alright, in theory, but if they did include it, it probably wouldnt make the game any better. I would like to see some kind of transition though, but in a programmed manner, i.e. once you have finished a certain area, you go somewhere to rest, then wake up at night or something, then once you have done something at night like infiltrating a factory of some kind, you come out just to see the sun rise (which would probably look good on the Xbox). Basically what Im saying is, have time transitions, but make it so its still part of the story, not dependant on how long the player stays in a certain area.

I would also like to have more intelligent AI, i.e. smoking Sligs, conversing creatures etc. And creating shadows seems like fun to. When OWI first released information about MO, they had a bunch of Videos available for download, and I downloaded a couple of them. In one of them you see Abe running inside a factory. He climbs down a ladder and waits in some shadows, then a Slig climbs down another ladder, walks forward a little and lights up a smoke. Then Abe sneaks up behind him and throws him onto one of those Recycler things. The idea of sneaking around makes it worth while.

And from what Ive gathered, they should have better screen transitions. I liked it when we saw how Abe got to a certain part after finishing a level, like after the first part of Rupture Farms when he enters the stockyards. Or when he blows up Necrum Mines, get shot out of a hole and lands on an Elephant statue on his...........Mummy-Daddy button.

But these are just my opinions, they dont really count that much...

No, OWI are very interested in what their fans think. Did you ever wonder why in AE there were no Bats? It was because some fans really hated the parts of the game that had Bats.

I did you notice that Mudokon didn't have personalities as such in AO, but they did in AE? Well, for that we can thank one fan who got in contact with OWI and suggested giving the Mudokons more individuality. Then when AE came out, this gimp actually had the nerve to sue OWI. OWI may not take specific requests on board any more, but I know if we make our desires known, we will be listened to.

Besides, you have some good ideas.

Xavier 09-24-2002 05:05 PM

that's why the annoying parts like bats and sticky balls are not in AE... thank you so much OWI.
