It's a little programme, called "RainbowText" (an Online friend of mine made it, and I pointed it out to Alector). You enter the text you want, and the colours you want it, and it gives you the HTML code for the colours. I can send it to you, if you like - which email address do you use? (It's quite small - 240kb, I think)

another big booboo...when it says date joined you got it all wrong. A minority of us joined with the ezboard, why dont you put those dates instead.

* did you upload?
* did you check size?
* is it still selected "no"

Ok...

If you want an avatar from the list, click the radio button that says 'no' (it's near the top of the page), then just click the radio button of the picture you want and then click 'change avatar'.

If you want to use a pic elsewhere on the web, click the radio button that says 'yes' (it's under the list of avatars), then type or paste its url in the box that has 'http://www.' written in it, then click 'change avatar'.

If you want to use a pic on your hard drive, click 'browse' and find where it is located on your computer. Once you've found it and clicked OK, it'll start uploading. When it's finished, THEN click the 'yes' radio button (you can do it before, but it'll just jump back to 'no' after uploading), then click 'change avatar'.

Hope it works out for you... and angry slig is bad enough, we don't want a furious slig. ;)

I think it's because it's a sticky topic - one people will use a lot. That saves it getting shunted off the bottom of the forum and getting lost, and people starting hundred of new topics about things that have already been answered (as we know how bad they are at looking to see if someone else has asked the exact same question three times already... :rolleyes: ).

Edit: as a complete aside, I can't find anything resembling any of the radio buttons you mentioned, Anna. Am I broken? Nnnngngng!

I went and checked to see if I was mistaken, but I don't think I was.

Go to User CP.
Go to Edit Options.
Click the 'Change Avatar' button (near the bottom).
All the next steps are the same as what I said in my last post.

If you can't see the radio buttons there, something must be wrong.

That would be where the dopey computer is going wrong. I click "Change avatar" and I get "Thank you for updating your profile, Teal" and taken back to the "User CP" page, instead of any options to change/get a picture... Maybe the net is being buggy at my end again (what a surprise, usually does it when I'm on Dept. computers) I'll try it again tomorrow.

Edit: Disregard that - after much arguing with and resetting of network settings I finally got to the "pick avatar" page, rather than the "Edit options" page, so fingers crossed that it works properly this time.

Edit 2: Yay! (It's a cockatiel, BTW - note the "teal" sound at the end. Bad joke, sorry)

Hate to nitpick (lie :D ), but isn't that a cockatoo? I thought cockatiels were the little grey and yellow ones.
