You need to do a Quit roll first.
|
The roll critically fails - MA will end up responding to this post.

also this but yeah we should probably arrange something |
If anything is going to be arranged then we need to know who’s definitely gonna take part, and we also need confirmation of who will be in charge. Most of the people who said they’d like to give it a shot are newbies so someone who’s played before and knows how to DM and explain the game needs to step up to take charge.
And then a date needs to be picked, and then we need to work out how to play – Skype, Roll20, some other channel? |
well i'll definitely be playing, so count me in. i don't want to be in charge though, if that can be helped.
so who's going to be in charge? the big dawg. the Game Master. |
I'm in, and though I might try DM'ing at some point, I'd rather leave it to someone else for now.
|
well May 16th is here and we're still no closer to actually starting a game.
WHO'S GONNA BE GAMEMASTER? i'm not letting this one drop. we'll play a game if it's the last thing we do. |
I have literally never played DnD before and have none of the tools needed to DM.
|
I'll DM, then. I can get a few pointers from friends. Give me a week or two to try and cook up a campaign and figure out just how exactly we're gonna make this work.
|
I would, but I'd need to get to know the system we're playing with first.
I have all sorts of campaign ideas, and all are stupidly complex for a first time DM. Plus, several of the scenarios involved movable, drivable, three-dimensional terrain build in RL, which would be difficult on-line. That was one of my simpler ideas. |
well i'll be lurking for a while so just post in this thread if you get something together.

There is no such thing as "basic" DnD. There are different editions with different rules, which is what I meant by "system". I need to know which edition, DnD or otherwise, before I can learn the rules. First and Advanced are probably out, but 3.5 is still popular. I'm familiar with Fourth, which is believed by most gamers to be shit, and fifth (aka "DnD Next") is either just out or in public beta, and I'm unfamiliar with that yet (and there are no interesting expansions). There's also the ever-popular Pathfinder, which is a different brand name but developed which permission directly from DnD 3.5, and has a shit-tonne of easily accessible character, race, creature, equipment etc expansions. I know the character creation and advancement for pathfinder, but not yet how gameplay really functions.
The reason I say I'd have to get a look at the system first is that it's fine to have players who are learning while they play, but truly shit to have a DM who's doing the same. You don't want to forget or misinterpret a rule and make your encounters too easy or impossible, or misunderstand the level system and mismatch the monsters. The first sessions are usually practice anyway, using pre-made campaigns. New players will appreciate the opportunity to change or replace their characters if they don't play as expected. |
Well I've never played DnD and i know im kinda new to the forums but I would like to play if there is something going down
