Abe's World isn't a thing, neither is Mulluck. You need to work on anatomy and expression too, the paint job is okay, I think Molluck is pretty good really, but you've got his name wrong. Seems like you haven't done the necessary product research.

Molluck.Typo, my bad. Maybe remove the word World from plinth. So, you reckon a limited run of 500 each, unpainted, would sell, or not sell?

Job McYossie 03-28-2014 02:47 AM

So now the base would just say: "Abe's"?

I thought Abe Lincoln might be appropriate.

alibongo 03-28-2014 03:31 AM

Well, tools are made, plinths will have no names, pm me if you are interested. Each model will be supplied in plain grey resin, with a certificate saying "Not endorsed by Odd world Forums and Unofficial, individually numbered model "

a certificate saying "Not endorsed by Oddworld Forums"

That certification has more value than any model a person can make.

Nate 03-28-2014 06:27 PM

I just had another thought. It isn't just OWI's copyright that is (potentially) being breached here, but the people who made the original models that alibongo is working off.

Scathing.

You mean it's like breaching a breach? This is a fine example where a double negative does not make a positive.

Nepsotic 03-29-2014 03:37 AM

But don't OWI own those models?

Xavier 03-29-2014 04:02 AM

Nate was referring to the models alibongo showed us in his picture.

Those models were made by someone else.

Manco 03-29-2014 06:31 AM

Is the company that made those original models even still in business though?

Xavier 03-29-2014 06:53 AM

Nope, I don't think so.

Xavier 05-16-2014 07:41 AM

Kinda dispointed it's lacking the certificate saying "Not endorsed by Odd world Forums and Unofficial, individually numbered model".

Varrok 05-16-2014 07:43 AM

It's still weird, and doesn't quite capture how Abe should look.

Crashpunk 05-16-2014 07:47 AM

Yup. His torso is far too big.

Nepsotic 05-16-2014 07:56 AM

Why is his right eye falling off.

Job McYossie 05-16-2014 04:47 PM

Abe is skinny. Really Skinny. Like, you can always see his ribs. These ribs though are so big it looks like his ribs are breaking through the skin.

MeechMunchie 05-16-2014 06:41 PM

"very rare"

I just did a doodle of Chewbacca wearing a sombrero. It's the only one in the world!

STM 05-16-2014 08:13 PM

His arms are as long as his legs bahaha.

For me, I wouldn't be messing around trying to sell license material unless you got permission from the original artist. You could get sued, due to copyright infringement. Just because OWI is no longer in business doesn't mean that the artwork produced by their artists is public domain. You still need permission from the artist for the reproduction. That is of course if you are trying to sell any and all reproductions or make a profit off of existing work. Now making these characters and art for the sole purpose for decorative use in your own place is fine. Its the selling part that is illegal that's all. Sorry to burst a bubble but it is true and I am just trying to help don't want to see fellow fans get in trouble. The work is still out there locked away. Ill walk away and pretend I didn't see this.;)

You know they are still in business right? They are currently overseeing the development of NnT done by JAW.

I meant to say the old business not JAW. But I guess I know now. See I thought OWI completely shut down and distributed their property across various different studios and "the business" was reduced to Lorne Lanning having total creative control but not being a developer, and the developer is JAW. Meaning Lorne would come up with an idea and it was up to a different studio to take on that idea and make it happen. That was my understanding at least for the longest time.

Even so, the artwork is still owned by them and they have all rights unless you have permission for reproduction.
