I've been playing a bit of AO on PC again. I will say that I'm finding the slight lag in gamespeak is a little annoying. Not game changing for me, but just a bit annoying. I've also noticed that when I save the game, going back in game I immediately crouch. Doesn't really effect game play, or is it an annoyance, as quicksave is not a thing so I am usually saving after beating a section. So I will admit there are definitly some issues with the PC version. Still the best in my opinion.

The only thing that bothered me coming to PC from PS1, as OddMan has pointed out, was that terrible, demonic thing they did to the secret area jingle.
That jingle... ugh. Totally ruined.
Don't remind me, I'll have another breakdown.
I grew up with the PC versions but I do admit the PS1 version works quite nicely too. (I played it on a PS1 along with my PSP).
Unless I feel like flying across the levels, and I usually do not, I really have no preference.
So I'm putting AE onto my PSP because I've lost my 3DS somewhere and need something on the go. Is there anything in particular about the PSP port that I should look out for? bad controls, evil glitches, anything at all?
The PSP only has one set of shoulder buttons, so I’m not sure how it will work around needing L2 and R2.
I use the analogue stick for those two, it works okay once you get used to it.

yeah i bought and downloaded AO for my dad on his PSP ages ago and he couldn't play it because of that. kinda pissed me off that the Playstation site even allow it for download on PSP if the fucking buttons aren't even all there. quite happy to take my money, mind. Sony cunts.
It is completely functional on the PSP. If you slide and hold the Joystick pad to the right, the right shoulder button will act as R2, and sliding the Joystick pad left will do the same for L2. Sony haven't taken your money at all.
It's a little awkward, but all right. You have to crabclaw, which I have not done since I played MGS, so that was kinda neat. It's not terrible though. I've noticed some (pretty little) input lag. This'd be an issue if it were a 3D platformer, or racing game, but Oddworld works lovely. Not to mention, pushing the game's already good looking graphics into the little screen makes it look all the better.

in fact i don't even beg, i just differ. strongly. |
I do the same on the Vita - analogue stick is mapped to changing GameSpeak mode, shoulder buttons mapped to run and sneak. Works great. Played through both games roughly 6 times like that.

What a truly awful company they are. |
maybe Sony should try putting the correct buttons on their fucking shitty game consoles before re-releasing games for download that require buttons that no longer exist on said shitty fucking game console.
and maybe you should try being less of a cocksucking little fanboy for Bigg Daddy Sony. and maybe you should stop bringing up the "taking your money" thing because they really did take my fucking money. you fucking idiot. you stupid fucking moronic cunt. what truly awful company you are. |
