I got rep too. MA reps me whenever I complain about anything.

I just downvoted BM out of spite.

And I will have my revenge. In this life or... shit.

And just like that, the pressure's on.

Manco vs. BM, who will win?

I'd pay to see that fight

that'll be the misanthropy.

That's enough rep talk.

I was listening to a podcast about Jehovah's Witnesses the other day. Apparently it's no longer official doctrine, but there was a time when they were not allowed to receive organ transplants because it was officially classified as cannibalism.

Slog Bait 08-23-2013 05:36 PM

That may very well be one of the best things I've learned all week.

They don't allow blood transfusions, so organs transplants are hardly going to be kosher, are they?

I had this big argument with a JW a while back about pressuring parents to shun their kids if their stop being JW. I could only stand hearing so many attempts to justify shunning before I was too sick to continue.

Bear in mind that the doctrine against transfusions is because the bible disallows drinking blood. And for some reason they count transfusion as a form of drinking.

Yeah, it's pretty terrible. But they're hardly the only religion to advocate that.

Reminds me of that fantastic quote from the American Office

:

It's an Amish technique. It's like slapping someone with silence. I was shunned from the age of four until my sixth birthday... for not saving the excess oil from a can of tuna.

It doesn't always stick.
