That person in the photo is doing her cause more harm than good 'cause what she's saying is provocative. It's that way of thinking by some campaigners which makes me have mixed feelings about feminism - And I hate discrimination while supporting equality.

True, but you risk damaging what you stand for when you act that way - Those who are clueless or neutral may even turn against you. It isn't a sensible way of doing stuff.

There's a thing in atheism going on between the sensitivity and firebrand, and it seems that there is room and need for both approaches. But no matter what you do you're never going to reach everyone and there are certain groups that you know you can write off as lost causes from the start. No matter what you do they'll be whining and complaining and there is simply no sense in wasting any grain of pearls on those particular swine.

the simple fact is, though, without provocation you are easy to ignore. And people will say "sure, we agree, we'll get to that" but nothing will ever happen. You have to make it consciously as much of an issue as it really is.

It's, uh, the oldest ditheistic religion in the world.

Zoroastrianism is as silly as Scientology insofar as all religions are equally ridiculous and the only difference that instils any sort of reverence is age. It's certainly more interesting than Scientology, which is simple and transparent from top to bottom.

But back to feminism.

Objection. Regardless of how they were founded, a religion is a historical expression of culture. The only thing Scientology is expressive of is a sort of collective psychoses brought about by a combination of ennui and celebrity worship.
