I remember MarsMudoken and Spiderman... eh good times

I wasn't here for the Spiderman shenanigans. It happened some time when I was trying to get my account back, and I saw it mentioned on the FB group.

MarsMudoken, Angry_Greeter, and Glukkonlulu I remember quite well, though.

I remember all of the people on the last page before Nate banned them for discussing bans.

Every multi he's made that slipped through the net was objectionable and annoying even before he revealed himself. I'm not inclined to give him any chances.

There haven't been a huge amount. A small but significant number in the old days before I was a mod. I count three in the last two years that we've been keeping records. And in between 2006 and 2010... I can't recall anyone significant. But then, my memory for old members here is pretty shitty.

EDIT: This doesn't include spambots, of course. At last count, I've banned 89 of them in the last two months alone.

Hah. Given how long ago these bannings happened (and given the context of this thread), I'm prepared to be lenient.

Nate, and Wil would ip ban me about once a week for about a year.

Of course, that's because I share an ip with MS, but still, it counts.

Also, I suspect that Nate only kept this open so that MS could continuously see our rejection of him. I assume he visists this site every day.

It wasn't exactly the same. We can ban entire blocks of IP addresses; that is, if a member in the past had used IP addresses 123.213.24.100 and 123.213.58.215, we can ban everything from 123.213. Unfortunately, that risks catching out legitimate members as well.

And it just so happens that our most hated user shared an IP with one of our most beloved. Conspiracy.

Also, we should probably all be banned right now, what with the whole "no speaking of banned members" rule. Come to think of it, we all should have been banned long, long ago.

I liked Spiderman. He was just misunderstood.

He was a prat. He had some disorder where he physically couldn't understand why we were all dicks to him. In his mind he was the perfect forum member and we were just inferior (obviously he wouldn't use the word inferior).

It might have just been his age at the time though that doesn't seem right considering he's marginally older now, but MS seems to be too. He acts almost identical to my brother, and he has Asperger's.

It's always nice to have at least a few people who have a good recollection of past events online. Even if they weren't actually there for some of it. Most of it, in Nep's case.

There were so many discussions that happened that I wish I could have been a part of because I would have actually had something decent to say on the matter. I'm rarely able to contribute anything to a discussion on here and when I do it ends up like the shit I spouted off in the thread of morbidity just for the sake of discussing. In other words saying shit that makes me look like an ignorant, cocky ass.

That's because there hasn't been any decent threads lately. There's like one new thread per month, and they're almost always really boring.

Well yeah, but I had the same problem even when I first joined. Though I guess I can't expect much considering how long the forums been around. Most topics have already been discussed to death, it's hard to come up with something new and interesting to talk about.

We could go round again, recreate threads from 2002 and see what the members who haven't been here since then have to say! I think it's a genius idea.
