And an eye-catching costume.

Maybe a very specific way of walking too. Yes, this is coming together.

And a symbol which denotes what our group is all about. I was thinking an equilateral cross with four arms bent at right angles.

That shows my love for things that are right and true!

Just to clarify to anyone who actually thinks the LGBT part of events like GaymerCon is to satisfy an 'interest', it's not to do with that. It's about feeling safe. Safe from harrassment (a major problem in conventions, especially gaming conventions) and safe to express oneself properly, without feeling surrounded by outlandish displays of perceived ultra-masculinity.

I'd like to go back on record as saying that I don't care that this is happening.

Aren't all events like this (Quake Con, Furry...Con, Comic Con) if you boil them down to their core? To feel safe and not be judged/bullied?

I wouldn't go to a convention regardless, but I'd feel safer going to Gaymercon than most othesr.
