But it wouldn't be FF if it wasn't like that, I guess. |

It's funny because it's true.

I'm playing the Donkey Kong Country remakes for the Gameboy Advance. For some reason DKC3's music is completely different from the SNES release, but it was done by the same guy at Rare. I played these more than anything else when I was a kid.
|
Well, I finished the Amnesia DLC! (Still haven't finished the actual game, yet) Justine's voice is so hot, it's like pure sex.
|
You've already experienced pure sex? Wow, man
|
Pure in the sense that there was only one person.
|
Still playing Darksiders 2. Jesus Christ but the City of the Dead dungeon was immense. I've played entire games that were shorter than that dungeon. And I don't mean flash games. I wasn't that crazy about the Earth dungeon, but it made up for it with the next two. There were a couple of good head scratcher puzzles in the final two dungeons as well, which was nice. I'm about at the end of the game now, but I'm going to go search out the things that I know I missed before completing it.

In my pre-university boredom, I've started replaying Tony Hawk's Underground 2. I loved this game when I was younger; it's scary to think that it's almost eight years old. I blitzed through the story mode in a couple of days on the hardest setting, but I fully expected to. I was pretty competent when I first played it, and my manual dexterity has only improved in the seven or so years since I last played it. I now have the classic mode to look forward to, which I never completed when I was younger.
|
:
Also, that classic mode had me raging for many days, it's really hard. The best thing about the game though was unlocking all those secret characters (with cheats of course!). Oh yeah and the level editor was beast and me and my friend spent many, many hours playing with that thing. |
I've played a bit of Metal Gear Solid 3 and I'm having trouble being... stealthy. I just keep running in and killing everyone cause hiding doesn't seem to work for me. I've also ran out of bullets for my tranquillizer gun so now all I have is a knife. Not the greatest start but I'm going to continue cause I remember how much I love MGS2.
Oh and I've also played Wii Sports and Wii Sports resort with friends on random occasions. It's actually still fun, partially the bike racing on Resort and Boxing on Wii Sports. :

In other words it actually requires skill.
|
Use a bush instead of a box in outdoor segments.
|
:
Though, when you finally do complete them, the feeling of gratification is awesome. Fuck you, Donkey Kong Country! |

Why do you say there won't be a third? They said that if the game sold well they would make a third. The game sold well.
|
If I recall correctly they wanted it to do around 2 million, it did 247K in the US in its first month, pretty sure thats under the first Darksiders.
|
That can't be right. Darksiders 2 was the highest selling game of August, and Super Mario Bros. 2 sold that in it's first week. That number likely applies to only one platform.
Edit: Apparently that number is right. Edit Edit: Still, though. That means that the game made about 14 Million in August alone. That and the fact that it was number one cannot go unnoticed. I think we'll have to wait and see if it continues to sell well before completely writing it off. |
I picked up LA Noire The Complete Edition yesterday, I've been enjoying it so far even though I am only on the third case, I'm surprised how deep the game is.
My question is though, do I ever get the chance just to explore LA? Like GTA? It seems that I am constantly on a mission with my partner tagging along with me, I want the chance to explore the environment. |
Yeah, the free roam is called The Streets of LA, you unlock it when you complete a desk of cases and then you can choose it in the main menu.

So after my horrible start at Metal Gear Solid 3, I played literally a whole day more of it and my god, it's great. I love the survival aspect of the game when you have to hunt for food to regain stamina and the camouflage really is helpful. The guns are brilliant like expected. I try to be all hidden by using the tranquillizer gun but most of the time I feel confident just to run around with a shotgun killing everything in my path.
I had a huge amount of problems beating The Fear because it's so difficult to actually locate him. Because of that, it's one of the hardest boss fights I've ever come across. The Pain was pretty easy, I found that whole cave section really cool and how you have to use the cigar to light up the way. Right now I'm currently at The End boss fight (The Sniper one). What is it with piss taking boss fights in this game? Seriously, anyone know a affective way to beat him? |
:
Of course that's lame, and the only proper way to beat him is by draining his stamina so you get that tasty tranq rifle. |
The first time I played MGS3 I killed The End in a method described by WoF. I felt like such a dick afterwards
