Also here's something interesting:
Halo 4's trailer was noticed by a few people to have some cues from metroid prime, like the visor and stuff. Well it turns out there's some former staff heads from Retro Games working on the project. Might be interesting. |
One thing I took away from the reactions to Microsoft’s conference was that people somehow get really fucking offended when you try and do something that isn’t “HERE IS A NEW VIDEO GAME FOR OUR CONSOLE OKAY GOODBYE”
And that pisses me off. It’s a video game console and the Xbox is probably going to get most triple-A games anyway, so why not show off some of the non-video game stuff they have planned? The bitching about how Microsoft showed a bunch of stuff that wasn’t new games just comes off to me as snobby, entitled weirdos who are offended the conference is not 110% dedicated to games. They are allowed to show off other things and really if they only showed games the whole thing would get old pretty quick. |
As long as the Wii U Pro controller is nice to hold, I'll be happy.
Not really hugely excited about any new games just yet. Most of the games I get tend to be bargains or impulse buys, like how I ended up buying Bioshock 2, Assassin's Creed Brotherhood and how I went from Mass Effect 2 to Mass Effect 3. I'm definitely seeing a slowing of pace in terms of me buying new games. I think online multiplayer modes are one of the reasons for that. |

No? It was boring, tedious and shallow. The fact that their big non game announcement was 'By the way we're stealing from the Wii U' didn't help matters. |

Xbox SmartGlass is a rather different beast. |
I dunno if anyone saw this but i'll post it anyway. Rayman Legends is looking amazing. Murphy is back 8D
|
xbox has an ipad now?
Seriously I'm tired of seeing new products from microsoft and sony that have already been done before ( kinect = eyetoy ps move = wii controllers ) not saying that the wii u controller = ipad because I'm not sure about it. the ipad didn't have buttons or connect to a console last time I checked... Then again so did the xbox connect to the tv. I just want to see something new. EDIT: YAY more rayman, wish I had the first one :( |

And that there that I mentioned above was the main problem with Microsoft's conference: The presentation was awful. The speakers were listless. The flow was bad. It was terribly terrible boring. The crazy celebrity cameos didn't help. Even Usher and five minutes of Nike blatantly advertising shoes at the middle of a gaming conference (What the fuck Nike?! What the fuck Microsoft?!) or the Microsoft presenter being paid off to advertise Prometheus couldn't make it any more memorable. Sony really didn't have much better substance than Microsoft's presentation, but they had much better style. The presenters were engaging and the general music and peripheral bits seemed far more like they were going through the motions rather than filling up space like Microsoft was. And when five minutes of your conference consists of an Usher concert, how are you not filling up space? |
In that case that’s pretty incredibly stupid of Microsoft, and they should learn to make a better show.

My body is ready, 5 minutes.

So far: Pikmin 3
23 games confirmed Reggie can't tell a joke and pronounces proof as poof |
So now it's over. Well, there is the 3DS presentation tomorrow but all in all, E3 was pretty dull this year. I thought even Nintendo was pretty lame.
Watch Dogs was probably the biggest surprise for me and it looked really good. Zombi U was quite interesting and so was Rayman Legends. They should've showed more of those, not that stupid Just Dance 4 shit or fitness stuff. Zombified Reggie was funny too. Like I said, pretty lame. |
I just watched the Watch Dogs E3 demo and holy shit that game looks amazing.
|
Yeah I'm disappointed with the lack of Zelda, Star Fox and Smash Bros, Obviouly they need more time on those titles. Overall I liked Nintendo's E3 conference.
Nintendo Land looks pretty fun, just looks like that really fun game you'll play at parties and I'm excited to see what other Nintendo franchises are part of it. I saw a Zelda mini-game yet they didn't show it...hm. The two new Mario games look good as well, I'm kinda wishing they announced something different like a new Mario Galaxy game or something. Oh well. The turning stuff into gold gimmick on the 3DS one looks cool, though I can imagine using it to get 99 lives on the first level just by spamming the power ups. And the Wii U one just looks like the Wii one but with new power-ups. Meh, I don't mind. Mario games are so fun :) (Though the name New Super Mario Bros U makes no sense) ZombiU was the surprise of the show, that is defiantly one game that will appeal to the buyers if it's a launch title. That's a game even PC gamers would look into. Also very excited to play Rayman Legends, Assassin's Creed 3 and Batman: Arkham City. Not too bothered about Wii Fit or that new Rabbid's game. EDIT: I forgot about Lego City and Pikmin 3! Lego City looks fun, sorta like GTA only being the opposite of being a criminal. :tard: and Pikmin 3 is going to be good, I played Pikmin 1 just the other day and it was a great game. anyway, I'm pissed off with people in the stream saying "no 3DS!" fucking idiot's didn't hear that there is an hour long show tomorrow dedicated to the 3DS. :nonono: I think overall, my favorite part of E3 was to see the Wii U. I'm defiantly going to get one. |
Nintendo started off strong and got progressively weaker. Their whole show was well presented and fun to watch, even given the lack of substance after Pikmin 3. By the time that guy was taking ten minutes to explain generic looking minigames containing Nintendo ips, though, I really couldn't give a shit any longer.
Presentation wise Nintendo wins E3 Substance wise Sony wins E3 by dint of being the least shit Developer wise Ubisoft wins. I'm a little shocked that EA and Activision didn't make much of an effort. I mean, they are a huge pile of shit but they could have at least attempted to dress it up. |
Yeah, that was a pretty crappy E3.
|
Aren’t they always?
|
:
This is probably nostalgia talking. |
Probably not. Journalists are paid to make bland information seem exciting. Though I must admit that PC Gamer have had a couple of "What E3 should have been like" articles.
|
I remember hearing about the Revolution in a Nintendo magazine and getting really excited. (for those who don't know, It was the prototype Wii)
|
:
I was following E3 back when NOM was gushing over Project Dolphin. |
2008 is the last E3 I remember vividly actually enjoying the conferences. This one just takes the cake for shit though.
|

|
Last E3 I really remember was in the early 2000's, I was getting excited for Munch's Oddysee.
|
I just found out, New WarioWare game, Game & Wario!
|
I know it's been ten years but I really want a sequel to Wario World. Warioware is great and all but the Wario platform games are always AMAZING.
