It's a training ground/survival mode/cash grinder/exposition machine.

Basically a combat challenge with interesting backstory as a reward. You'll need it to understand and appreciate one of the endings.

I know, right? I paced around my room for at least ten minutes, and making loud, sobbing indescision noises by the end. So what did you pick? AND DYNA SERIOUSLY DON'T READ THIS I picked Save Zulf/Evacuation.

Also, what weapon combos? I kept mine pretty much all the way through. I had:

1: Cael Hammer (Maxed Damage)
2: Breaker's Bow (Speed/Damage [The speed made it really hard to get power shots, annoyingly])
S: Mirror Shield

Though I eventually swapped that out for:

1: Duelling Pistols (Damage/Accuracy)
2: Cael Hammer (Maxed Damage)
S: Mirror Shield (Hey, it's useful...)

Here's the rambling post I wrote after finishing it. After reflection, I'd probably be even more positive now.

I picked the same choices that you did, the part where you carry Zulf out stands out to me as one of the best marriages of gameplay and story in a videogame.

I had the Cael Hammer and Mirrror Shield(you can swap this?!) for the entire game. I kept the Breaker's Bow for a good chunk of the game, switched to the rifle and eventually the mortar at the end though.

Did you not try clicking/selecting/whatevering it in the Armory menu?! You mean you went through the entire game just not understanding what those Secret Skills you were finding were for?

Oh wait.

I meant the Mirror Shield Secret Skill. You know, the one where you spin and everything dies?

But that scene. Oh God, that scene. I was practically in tears. The music, the animation, it felt like I'd just stepped into a movie. The way they give you control until the very end... You genuinely think you're going to die, and yet you do it anyway, because you just feel you have to. So I stumbled, I flinched at the darts piercing my defenseless frame... Then they stop... They part... That guy gets struck down by his captain... They displayed an unbeliveable amount of character through that basic AI. I saved one of their kind, when they themselves considered him past forgiveness. I felt like more of a hero than I ever have before in a game. And I probably did cry.

Oh, and Evacuation is definitely the "Good" ending, don't worry.

Fuck you guys, I'm tempted to read that stuff.

Picked up Skyrim for £15.60 (Thanks Havoc!). Should be fairly bugless by now, so I'll get to see what all the fuss is about ;)

Been playing though RE4 Wii Edition recently with my GF :3.
It been waay too long since I last played it and it's better then I remembered it. Best part of the game has got to be the gameplay, the Wii controls are perfect.

Also the Merchant is a legend.

I misunderstood you, I thought you meant just the regular shield ability. I had the Summon Squirt through out the game.

I've been playing a lot of Plants vs. Zombies, and trying to avoid using the same tactics every single level. This is foolish the exact second you acquire Corn. With Corn, nothing can stop me.

Just beat Bastion. My god, what a game. I also chose the Save Zulf ending, but after that I chose the restoration one.

And yeah, the part where you carry Zulf out of there was definitely one of the best scenes I've seen in a video game. Last I felt the same way was when I beat Arkham City. This game is a masterpiece in my opinion, I wish there would be a sequel.

To be honest, I really didn't even know what to choose so I just went with that one in the end. From what I got from the ending, was that they went back to a better time where there isn't calamity. Or something like that. And yeah, I started NG+ already.

Cave Story+. Such an awesome little game, probably one of the most fun I've ever played. Plus, it has funky music.

My cousins were visiting us today and we (four of us) played a shitload of Rayman Origins. I've never had so much fun playing a video game in my whole life.

I love hearing about Video games that become so much better when you play them with Family or Friends.

Smash Bros. Brawl is a game I keep playing when my mates come over. We NEVER get bored of it.

The Mass Effect 3 demo.

Meh, it was good but I'm not that hyped up for it so I thought it was a bit boring to be honest.

Flatout Ultimate Carnage, I feel stupid for trading this game in years ago :/ I can't even remember the reason why I traded it in either.

I've been trying to play the other games I picked up recently, but I can't stop playing Iron Brigade. It's just too damn good since they added survival mode. I barely even sleep anymore.

I went to my sisters to play the Mass Effect 3 demo.

Honestly, Dyna. I'm not sure how you can call it 'boring'. I thought it was brilliant.

I love how they brought back that noise when your gun overheated in the first game, but it only came up when you ran out of ammo.

Also, the Reaper noises gave me goosebumps. Also, Wrex was awesome, as always.

I don't know why but ME3 just hasn't done what the first two did for me. I'm just not impressed. I did like Wrex and Garrus though. Can't go wrong with that dynamic duo.

It was only a demo, remember. There's still the full game.

I'm mostly looking forward to meeting with Jacob, Miranda, Thane, Legion, the Illusive Man and Harbinger.

But I meant the game in general too. Introducing new dumb as hell characters (that Vega guy, fucking Jessica Chobot) and unnecessary multiplayer. The multiplayer I can forgive but it still took development time that could have possibly been used to improve the singleplayer experience.

I don't know, I'm sure it'll be a great game none the less, just that it's not really anything I'm that excited for. Sorry.

Aaaaanyway, on topic, I beat AC: Revelations a while ago. I did kind of like the story even though I much preferred Brotherhood over this game. Multiplayer is imo really fun but I can never find full matches.

What's wrong with him? Don't be a cunt and scream, 'oh, I want an alien'. He's a character. Kaidan was awesome because he was your friend. Jacob was awesome because he idolised you, though he'd never admit it. James will be awesome too. Don't pull yourself into the common arguments saying: 'OH ANOTHER HUMEN Y NO NEW ALIAN'

Bioware have said, a billion times, that they have hired extra staff to work on the multiplayer. The original team (including the writers) have stayed put, working on the single-player.

Mass Effect 3 has almost twice as much dialogue as the second game, just goes to show, there is effort in there.

And alright, I didn't know that about the multiplayer. Then it's a nice add I guess. I'm not trying to bash the game, not at all, but I'm just simply not interested in it. Seems like it's obviously your most anticipated game of this year though. :p
