I don't understand what was so wrong with the original image that some chucklefuck had to do that but whatthefuckever.

Mr.Bungle will get a kick out of this:

I object to the bit in italics.

Wings of Fire 10-27-2011 06:20 PM

It's a parody of a meme floating around on /a/ the last few months where the poster would take the scene of that girl explaining why time travel is theoretically impossible and replace it with a simple BIDMAS problem.

That's not a simple BIDMAS problem.

Nate 10-27-2011 08:40 PM

Ah, yes, the various versons of the BODMAS meme were floating around Facebook for a while.

But I have no idea what the 'I' might stand for.

EDIT: Wikipedia tells me that it stands for 'Indices'. It also tells me that my year 9 teacher was full of shit and the 'O' stands for 'Orders' rather than 'Of'. That one did always confuse me.

Phylum 10-27-2011 09:33 PM

I've always learnt BEDMAS, with the e standing for exponents.

Wings of Fire 10-27-2011 10:47 PM

I always learnt BODMAS, but our teacher always told us the o stood for pOwers.

When I found out about BIDMAS I just plain switched to that.

Awesome choice of music. Other than that, it looks okay.

DarkHoodness 10-28-2011 12:38 AM

THEY CGI'D DR. ZEUS?! AURRGGGHH! IS NOTHING SACR-...

Oh wait, it doesn't look so bad.

MeechMunchie 10-28-2011 01:19 AM

I'm going to say B simply on the basis that it cannot be A and D.

Wings of Fire 10-28-2011 01:20 AM

It's a paradox, all three unique answers contradict themselves.

We're pretty certain.

MeechMunchie 10-28-2011 01:22 AM

I bet there's a version of that question that would be solvable. Like, if you used different percentages.

Wings of Fire 10-28-2011 01:25 AM

Like if C was 33%?

Phylum 10-28-2011 01:27 AM

If you used different percentages it would be a very different question.

Havoc 10-28-2011 02:51 AM

I approve of the new thread title. I approve of it very much.

Wings of Fire 10-28-2011 03:56 AM

Eight years of emnity spanning your teenager years, thousands of posts, forum disputes, faction splits, OWI's death and ressurection and a year and a bit of Hobo being inactive.

And you're still the first person who notices a thread name change to reflect his demoddong (Also making you the first person to notice that).

That's... actually kind of cute.

moxco 10-28-2011 04:00 AM

On the topic of inactive mods, where is Xavier?

I noticed it but thought I had just misread it previously.

Not the first time, dude...

Dynamithix 10-28-2011 04:25 AM

Making stuff CGI isn't necessarily bad. The new Tintin movie (that is CGI) got great reviews already. I'm planning on seeing it next week when it hits the theaters.

DarkHoodness 10-28-2011 07:01 AM

Some don't look so bad, sure - I know a lot of work goes into CGI, and making it look good instead of crap can take just as much effort and artistic skill as traditional animation.

I just feel that everything is being made into CGI these days because it's the "in" thing and that classics should really remain as being traditionally animated - Or at least keep their original art style, there's nothing wrong with using computers to emulate that. It's just that when classic ideas are done with 3D models instead, it takes away some of their original charm and ruins them a bit, IMO.

Mac Sirloin 10-28-2011 08:04 AM

Being the resident suddenly self appointed movie guy, I can happily say that Illumination is the studio we want making this. They make gorgeous, happy movies.

I don't think CGI is used just cos it's 'in'. I think it's become a new, yet valid form of film. Just like live action, cartoons and stop motion is.

And I don't feel its wrong to use it with classic stuff either x_X the important thing is how they deliver the film.

Mac Sirloin 10-28-2011 04:00 PM

I yearn for traditional animation too, but we're not going to be seeing a resurgence of it for awhile. As soon as we have 4D cinema.

We already have 4D cinema. Unless you've been staring at static images...

To do this, you will need a Facebook, but it's really creepy. Watch with headphones.

Lol, that poor bloke, he obviously can't afford a bath or air conditioning, he's sweating like a pig.

Dynamithix 10-30-2011 09:00 AM

I figured this would fit in this thread too, but this brings a tear to my eye. Only because of what happens in the end of the game.
