About 10 dollars* for a 16 slot server and 20 dollars* for a 32 slot server, but I don't think we'd ever get to that number with just OWF members participating.

As long as Dripik's computer holds out we should be fine though, but if it starts to get laggy like with the 1.6.2 patch it stops being fun quick.

* a month.

10 bones a month sounds like a great backup plan if dripik's PC starts getting crowded. I bet if everyone who uses the server chips in a couple of bucks every so often we'd be golden.

Wil 05-27-2011 09:33 AM

What if you get a looping tunnel?

Dynamithix 05-27-2011 09:44 AM

What's the IP?

STM 05-27-2011 09:56 AM

You need to PM Dripik.

Anyone want to help me making a life sized Paramonian Temple? PM me so we can brainstorm. It's killer to do by myself because it turns dark and I die. =)

Havoc 05-27-2011 10:51 AM

You can do that by yourself no problem if you're just going about it smart and put torches and stuff around and don't work at night.

STM 05-27-2011 10:54 AM

How many torches does it take to ward away a skeleton then? Or stop a spider from killing you.

Also please, I'm not naming the person publicly but, stop leaving burning crosses in my house. It was funny the first time but next time I see it happen I'm going to do a little worse than leaving a burning cross in the person's house. Thank you.

Wil 05-27-2011 11:22 AM

Monsters spawn in light levels of 7 or below. Light decreases by one level each block's distance from a light source. Torches emit light level 14. Therefore to ensure mobs don't spawn, don't let there be more than 12 blocks between torches.

Have you decided where to build yet?

STM 05-27-2011 11:32 AM

No, I'm thinking somewhere flat, but there's not much flat land that is easily findable.

Rep for whoever is doing that because that's just hillarious.

Splat 05-27-2011 01:49 PM

While all the zombies, skeletons and creepers spawning in the dark side are emerging to eat your face?

That's basically the trouble with exploring anywhere alone. You want to build a wall or bridge to defend your back or provide light or cross a chasm, but the monsters just won't leave you alone.

Havoc 05-28-2011 04:21 AM

Don't you people use armor and weapons?

Manco 05-28-2011 05:57 AM

I never live long enough to justify making armour.

STM 05-28-2011 06:42 AM

Our temple team needs a lot of gunpowder, if you have any, we will gladly trade it off you at a rate of 1:40 gunpowder to cobblestone/ dirt or sand (minor materials.)

Wil 05-28-2011 07:10 AM

I just popped 5 gunpowder in the communal chest. I'll have 200 cobblestone, please.

Havoc 05-28-2011 07:44 AM

Why do you need gunpowder anyway?

Wil 05-28-2011 07:54 AM

He wants TNT. You know, after the server admin explicitly told him not to use any.

STM 05-28-2011 07:58 AM

That's because I was going to use it near the habitable area not out in the sticks. Stop being a back seat moderator, I'm not four.

Crashpunk 05-28-2011 08:29 AM

Who the hell do you think your talking to?

Splat 05-28-2011 08:37 AM

Don't be obtuse, Crashpunk. Max isn't a moderator; he's an administrator.

(Note: Irony.)

By the way STM, my lair is somewhere below your house, so bear that in mind with whatever you're planning.

STM 05-28-2011 08:53 AM

Your lair is below my house? WHYY SPLATTICUS FINCH? Seriously when did that happen, I've been mining under my house for three days.

Havoc 05-28-2011 10:02 AM

Splat is awesome like that.

Also, just mining stuff is probably a lot quicker then blowing it up.

STM 05-28-2011 10:33 AM

Hold on, does Splat mean my house or our Paramonian Temple? Either way I'm confuzzled.

Splat 05-28-2011 04:11 PM

The hill beyond Havoc's metropolis. Maybe my caves don't stretch as far as your house; just keep an eye out, though. I don't want you bursting through my ceiling.

Wil 05-28-2011 04:15 PM

Yeah, you could be doing anything in the privacy of your own home.

Manco 05-28-2011 04:25 PM

What happens behind closed doors in Minecraft SMP? Find out after these messages!

rapidly tapping shit + left-click

alternate answer: this.

STM 05-28-2011 04:30 PM

OH you just created rule 34 of minecraft you sick bastard!

DarkHoodness 05-28-2011 05:20 PM

2 and a half hours of intense video editing later I'm pleased to bring you all some vids of this evening's SMP fun.

Firstly since it's hard to find, this is how you get to the portal in the main base:

Max and Dripik both found a naturally-occurring mushroom field containing 186 mushrooms:

We celebrated Oddhunter's birthday in the nether (note that even though I've compressed the entire thing into 7 minutes, it may not be interesting for some people unless you were there, go here to see the ending in a separate video of us all being attacked by a ghast!):

And we found this hilarious glitch where Crashpunk became horizontal:

I think this evening was the most fun I've had in a game in a long, long time, and I'm happy to have recorded some of the best parts of it. :) Thankyou so much to all who were involved!

Dynamithix 05-28-2011 05:25 PM

Darn it, I can't connect to the server. It's been like that today.

Hulaabeo 05-28-2011 05:35 PM

No cake, eh?

That was somewhat enjoyabe. I tried to kill the Ghast by bringing him close with a fishing rod, but some glitch destroyed it even though it was never used.

I think Splat had a similar problem yesterday as well. I have no idea what causes that, it doesn't seem to be a general problem.

I didn't think that the idea of the Nether party would catch on, but I was wrong. The ghast adventure topped it proper. No wait, crashpunk's glitch was the icing on the cake. /shamelesspun
