It's good to see another clansman yes! Have you ever been to Scotland to see our foundation? It's really worth the trip, if not for the house or monument then for the stunning views! And the people their are so welcoming of returning family.

So yes, I do get offended easily when people talk shit about our flag. I think he is referring to the fact that stupid cunts on the internet (most people here included) seem to think that America is the great evil, and make constant comments to that end. It is mighty wearisome. It wouldn't be so bad if it were constant comments about our government, but the fucking idiocy of you people and your incessant hateful blabbering about Americans in general gets to be as irritating as it is stupid. Especially since so many of you owe so much of your modern culture to this country.

That's the thing though, it didn't seem like a joke to me at the time. It's hard to tell sometimes when people are either kidding or just being down right rude.

And I agree with OANST. Alot of people seem to have this image of America that the majority of the population is stupid, fat, and lazy and if you come here you have a good chance of being shot by a random citizen, like it's the old west or somthing. I try not to let the comments get under my skin, but sometimes they go way to far.

We do the same thing with other cultures/countries. People from France are lazy cowards. People from England are snobs with horrible teeth. Everyone from Australia is the crocodile hunter. Mexicans are lazy. Everyone in Africa has AIDS. Stop fucking whining. All you do is whine.

The majority of our population is fat, stupid and lazy. As far as being randomly shot, I guess that just depends on where you go. But the same can be said of just about any place.

I agree that that there are stereotypes of every culture, but no single stereotype is harped on so incessantly, or taken so seriously as that of the stupid, cultureless American.

You work in sales. You know the deal. People will tell three people about a negative experience versus telling one person about one that was positive. I think it's the exact same thing with cultures, ours in particular. You get some loud mouthed jackass from south Texas in France on business, and of course the waiter he offends is going to tell several of his friends about the 'big dumb loud' American that pissed him off at work that day. As for the quiet couple who took three years of French in college and keep their shit in check? Well, what is there to talk about, exactly?

And then you have our television programs/modern broadcasting content which seems to be nothing but reality television showcasing the rich and delightfully dim-witted, sitcoms featuring oversexed and mentally/socially inept yet decent looking people finding their way in life, and, of course, FOX fucking news. What would you think, if you found yourself on the outside looking in?

The problem with that is that every country has their fair share of this shit. I don't judge British culture based on The Daily Mail or Big Brother.
