Incompetent government + complicated evil plan = half failed evil plan that leads to conspiracies.

So then, the only logical next step, is that ALIENS are secretly puppeteering everything, cleverly masterminding...well, whatever your conspiracy theory requires. Then again, anything really crazy or magical can usually fix any hole in any kind of theory.

Seriously, shut up. Grown ups are talking here.

Just ignore him. He'll tire himself out.

Actual conspiracies.

As in, if the plan was executed flawlessly no-one would ever know. But because they made it overly complicated some stuff went wrong and people got suspicious.

Like Area 51. Who would have thought people would happen to check out that desert?

Famous last words.

Seriously, do some research into actual history, political, economical and so forth. We have no need for conspiracy theories, the scariest shit goes down in broad daylight, plain as day for all to see.

Because it turns out that the people we trust to maintain stability and security don't have a fucking clue. Nobody does.

Area 51 is a USAF testing site for new types of aircraft, that's been common knowledge for years.

I know, I was being vaguely satirical.

Vaguely.

Oh that's what they want you to think...

Well, obviously Area 51 is a decoy to make sure that no-one heads in to the desert to look at Area 52.

Dixanadu 05-29-2011 11:12 AM

Doesn't the government want everyone to believe that Area 51 doesn't exist?

Yet you can easily find it on Google Earth?

Havoc 05-29-2011 03:13 PM

Isn't it blurred out on Google Earth? Also Area 51 exists, just as Area 52, 53, 54, etc. I believe those are simply designations for quadrants in the desert or something.

Dixanadu 05-29-2011 03:33 PM

Yes, it is. But certain programs can 'unblur' images, many of these exist on the internet to give a clear view.

It has lots of runways and buildings. No UFOs, though.

I just saw this interview (which British people probably won't be able to watch) with an author of a book about Area 51. Her research claims that aliens were never taken to the base, but that lots of other shit went down there. Much top-secret research in to nuclear weapons and unmanned drones and whatnot. So secretive that the people there decided that Bill Clinton wasn't important enough to know what was going on, when he was president.

Also, she claims that the Roswell incident was actually Stalin sending over a 'spacecraft' with fake aliens (possibly actual Russian children) in order to provoke panic in the USA, War Of The Worlds-style.

Dixanadu 05-30-2011 11:07 AM

The best interview with a former Area 51 employee was with Bob Lazaar, he gave a lot of details about what went down there, but seldom mentioned anything alien.

There was another guy too, I can't remember his name. His first name was Robert, though. He said he worked for a black ops group that was in charge of blasting hillsides in the desert to make caves for secret installations. He apparently found an underground facility where aliens (typical grey kind) were congregating with the US military. One of his colleagues shot at them in fear and a firefight broke out. Robert had lost a hand and also had severe burns on his chest (which he was very proud to show off when he gave his announcement)

After giving the speech, Robert was apparently murdered. Around the same time, his Wikipedia account disappeared.

Coincidence?

This seems crazier than Aliens to me.
