On purpose?

Seemingly. Bees, even as a singular have the ability to learn, for example a bee can be taught how to count to four. I mean, if I went down to my hive with you today, they would even recognise me over you because they can remember my face.
|
And you harvest their honey, do you?
|
Yes, I got I think nine jars last year, I expect 15+ this year and with some exceptional cut comb formation which is chewable. But money lies in genetics and queen rearing which is the most interesting thing. I made two a few weeks ago looking at genetic traits I want to continue such as cleanliness and 'anti-swarmy'. It's all very fantastic.

As a former biology student, I have to say this topic is fascinating. The parts about the rogue queens and the colonial collapse when they all become queens... these could make for some very interesting fanfics.

Isn't that like saying "my husband loves me, he hasn't beaten me in a year"?
|
Well, no, if a woman took her husband outside when it was cold, he wouldn't beat the shit out of her...because bees...bees are tetchy fuckers you have to really train carefully, only picking superior anti-swarmy genes.

Genetic engineering is faster, which is what I've been using for my wife.
|
You have a wife?
Genetic engineering at a micro level is expensive though, it's easier to breed them and select desirable traits to carry into the next generation. I didn't even require a kit though I did a really basic/ un-proper way. |
