Dynamithix 02-22-2011 12:03 PM

This was so epic when I saw it in the movie theater.

Wings of Fire 02-22-2011 12:12 PM

Wow, it really is Twilight for boys huh?

Ridg3 02-22-2011 12:18 PM

What? Shite made for fellas?

Wings of Fire 02-22-2011 12:44 PM

Yeah, it's just so relentlessly overdone it makes me cringe.

And I assume that's a better part of the movie.

Dynamithix 02-22-2011 12:48 PM

I thought Scott Pilgrim was pretty fucking good.

MA 02-22-2011 02:00 PM

then you're PRETTY FUCKING WRONG

nah, haven't even seen it.

Nate 02-22-2011 03:56 PM

Scott Pilgrim was awesome, but I wouldn't recommend it to everyone. You need to have a high threshold for absurdity and ridiculous cultural references.

Hazel-Rah 02-23-2011 12:34 AM

Why hasn't anyone posted this yet? *shakes head*

Ridg3 02-23-2011 03:44 AM

I was watching SP and I was trying to make sense of it all, it didn't really make sense... I didn't enjoy it. My friends though loved it, but that might have something to do with they fact that the don't watch good films.

MeechMunchie 02-23-2011 05:18 AM

I didn't think Scott Pilgrim was obscure enough. They tried to go for the gamer niche but then copped out and tried to make it appeal to everybody.

I always thought General Grievous was the best bad guy in Star Wars. Shit, I even have the old Grievous LEGO minifigure. I gotta find it though.

ziggy 02-25-2011 11:46 AM

General Grievous was the only interesting thing in Star Wars!

Manco 02-25-2011 11:59 AM

I also really liked him; at least, the Clone Wars cartoon version of him. Unfortunately, Episode 3 turned him into a throwaway character of pretty much zero importance.

I'm talking about this, not the stupid CGI abortion that got released a couple of years ago.

Dynamithix 02-25-2011 01:32 PM

THANK THE LORD, I actually thought you were talking about the crappy one.

Liked Count Dooku more myself. As short as they were, his fight scenes were my favorite of the franchise.

Nice. I have something of a man-crush for Javier Bardem.

Hazel-Rah 02-26-2011 08:46 PM

You know what's better than the Star Wars prequels?

Plinkett's reviews of course

Dynamithix 02-27-2011 02:04 AM

Why is there 7 parts? I couldn't even watch the first part to the end.

Why are there three Star Wars prequels? I couldn't even watch the first one to the end...

Dynamithix 02-27-2011 01:46 PM

I see what you did there. But seriously, those videos were stupid.

Wings of Fire 02-27-2011 01:50 PM

Comebacks are better when they work, I've always found.

Manco 02-27-2011 03:06 PM

I enjoyed Plinkett's Star Wars reviews; they were in-depth, legitimate deconstructions of why the movies were bad, with some humour thrown in. Even if you didn't find it funny, it was still a damn good analysis.

Hazel-Rah 02-27-2011 04:15 PM

Yeah Plinkett's stuff is hilarious, you just need to keep watching them Dynamithix. Eh, the Star Wars prequels weren't horrible, my biggest problem with them is that they lacked powerful antagonists with clear intentions like Vader and the Empire. The Star Wars prequels never built up the tension of the attack on the Death Star in the first Star Wars movie, you wanted to see the protagonists triumph. The new movies still had a a lot of cool action scenes and Grievous could've been cooler if he hadn't died in five seconds.

ANYWAY back on topic....

The original Star Wars is my favorite, this scene is so uplifting...

Dynamithix 02-27-2011 07:22 PM

I didn't really like the prequels either, but I loved Episode III.

My overall favourite is probably IV or V. I saw the original trilogy when I was 'bout 9 or 10 though so I'm not the one to judge which is the best one, haha.

Mr. Bungle 02-27-2011 07:29 PM

Episode III was definitely the best of the prequels, but that's not saying much. It was good, but not nearly on the same level as the originals.

V is my favourite.

Also, going back a few posts, I loved the Star Wars: Clone Wars animated TV series.

Hazel-Rah 02-28-2011 08:10 AM

Episode IV is my favorite, I wish they'd go back to self-contained stories :(
