I seriously hope y'all were joking about Blade Runner being great. Most overrated movie I've ever seen in my life. Saw The Final Cut and I wanted my 2 1/2 hours back.

So it's overrated because it has actual substance, meaning, poetic metaphors, great story and superb cinematography?
I don't see why you would say it's overrated, as I never see it being talked about in the same amount as for example LOTR or some other big movie. I think Blade Runner is popular amongst some people, but you make it sound like such a bad thing. It's kind of sad really, cos it's a good movie. Good Movies deserve recognition.

I've heard lots of people talk of it being a cinematic masterpiece. And no, in my opinion, its overrated because the story is pretty bland and could be wrapped up in 10 minutes, virtually nothing happens in the movie, the meaning is one that didnt require 2 and a half hours to tell and seems to be in place of an actual movie, and the poetic metaphors are overly flowery.

Each to their own but I personally find it a dreadful film.

I like American Pie.

It's ok to find it dreadful. Many good movies are not liked by a large amount of people. like you said, each to their own. But it's kind of wrong to go around saying that you hope we're joking when we say we like it, because that's more than each-to-their-own. We all have different tastes for a reason.

I don't like American Pie because it has flat humour and you allways see where the scenes are going. And the plot's allways the same. I generally hate Teenie-films; Hollywood just discovered a new way of making more money and that's it, allways the fucking same plot with one-dimensional char.

I wasn't being serious saying "I hope you're joking"- why would I genuinely want someone to dislike a film? I meant it as an exaggerated figure of speech. I do tend to mostly talk seriously on here though, maybe that was the problem.
