Actually, the vast majority of Americans are in support of dropping the sanctions on Cuba. We can't quite understand why we are treating Cuba so harshly, and doing so little to China (which is guilty of far more human rights violations). Also, our government has opened a dialogue with Cuba. This is something that hasn't happened since the sanctions were put in place.

It isn't like we are proud of Joseph McCarthy, or anything.
