This poll has no sense -.- anyway... I don't know.
AO is creepy, since the paramites chasing you once they climb from their webs, and dont forget stockyards
if you dont know AIS!,then why have you voted for GBA MO?
He thinks GBA MO is the worst one, not the creepiest one.
:
I would have voted now for AO if I could have removed my vote. |
:
i am the same as fuzzle guy especially because of the big skull at necrum.
:
AE was more focused on humor, AO was just dark in ways that had not been done before. Not only in story but also in environments. |
That sounds remarkably like a comment on the lighting. Which would be valid, but not the source of the flavour.
The gameplay of the gba version of Mo just creeps me out im scared of it
Slig_117, are you being serious?
I think that was a jaunt at it's supposedly horrendous gameplay.
well not really
Abe's Exoddus
AE easy... so many creepy levels and those dogs combined with coptersligs... and the last levels with bathroom-looks... me as young kid sitting at the TV late at night... can't get any creepier than that!
Abe's Exoddus is much darker, but I think many people have selected Abe's Odyssey as that was the ground breaking game that introduced everyone to the dark setting that is Oddworld!
Also the handheld games are good, but I can't see how they are better than the Playstation originals! |
I would have to go with AO, for one main reason (plus a bunch of minor ones that have been previously mentioned) the sense of isolation. The whole time I’m playing it a feel so alone in this unknown land where even my own species kill me if I come too close.
I just don’t get the same feeling in the other games. |
When I saw Abe's Exoddus first I thought it would be creepier than the first game, but now I know it's Abe's Oddysee, several reasons for that had been said already.
Abe's Oddysee has got it's own unique creepines for that matter it's also very diffrent from Exodus somehow. It's also strange that (for some people) as a child the game creeps you out at first and then you start to like it. :D |
Seems people think the 2D games where creepier. Must be the fact that you are crammed in a little space, and can't zig-zag around the sides to escape and you cark it with one blow XD THAT made me pretty pissed when I first played it :p
Oddworld Abe's Oddysee is definately the creepiest game that OWI have created because you start as that little slave guy Abe and you're surrounded by terrible noises, dark environements, ribcages falling down to get chaffed into pieces by a machine which is right underneath your feet, dangerous Sligs/Slogs and massive creatures like Scrabs are your worst death enemies and make you shiver when you think that you have to run away from them in the next second.
In addition, Rupturefarms is quite a dirty place with rusty walls and dried blood everywhere and the noises of the machines are surely scary too. But I love this game because one even gets a break from the creepiest place by being able to dive into beautiful environements and nightscapes such as natural environements too. |
Plus, unlike in AE, things aren't really explained to you properly in AO at first, just that you have to escape and run away from things that want to stab their beaks through your chest, shoot you in the back, or bite you in two - And all of that in an environment where you can't see clearly where things are, only shadows (at least in the Stockyards, anyway).
So I vote for AO - It was just the most atmospheric out of all the games. AE has creepy concepts, but the atmosphere is brighter, including the music. Besides that, you're not running away from things - You're infiltrating industries to rescue people, or simply trying to get from A to B. SW isn't creepy at all either, because even though you're constantly outnumbered, Stranger is a tough character and even when naked and stripped of everything, isn't ever really that vunerable to those that wish to hurt him. |
AO was the creepiest for me when i was the kid, the opening noises always freaked me out xD
:
People are far too critical of GBA MO. Okay, I wouldn't hold it up on a pedestal, but for Oddworld fans it's another game with our favourite characters in our favourite Universe. If anybody actually gets a chance to play it, please do. You'll see it's not as "creepy" as you're all making it out to be. |
Stranger's Wrath.
i wud say strangers wrath. the whole having an octigi on your head controlling u while ur alive underneath creeped me out. yuck. poor steef
I wouldn't actually say that SW is creepy, it's just full with suspense, but for that matter you are right, the octigi are somehow creepy :D
but I still think AO is the creepiest game so far :p |
I would have to go with AO because of Rupturefarms and the Stockyards. I mean, with the Brewery in AE, it was just industrial looking. In AO there was blood all over the walls, big hunks of meat falling from the ceiling, the darkness of the stockyards. I remember when I first played the game at the age of like, 6, I was so scared of the game that I turned it off when I got to Paramonia... So, I think that AO was definitely the creepiest.
