Well, maybe, I'd prefer a Godzilla 'man in a suit falling hilariously on miniatures' movie then a "Oh crap We're scared and running from something we only saw the foot of" movie.

But that's just me.

I have not seen this film, but I do usually get very annoyed when monsters in monster films are not shown enough. There are exceptions, but sometimes sticking with the ‘seeing less makes it more scary’ idea backfires by drawing attention to itself. Cool monsters should be able to be seen as cool monsters, and it needn’t detract any from the fear/story/character study/whatever they put in films these days (which is to say I don’t see many, and don’t expect to see this one).

From what I hear, it adds to the realism of being caught on camera buy one of the characters. People point, he turns around just in time to see it disappear behind a building.

I saw the movie.

God, I wish this Hud guy was a better cameraman.

Would have been more fun for me, I actually got a little sick some times.

Truly no words I can think of make that any better.

We just never got a GOOD look at the monster, the suspense was all well and good, but you only really get a decent shot of it while they're in the helicopter, and even then...


The Host was superior, IN MY OPINION, because it was...well..I don;'t know, I just liked it more.

It's not just you! I love all of them old Godzilla films to death. This was the one I have seen most recently.

The Host was pretty fucking awesome, I haven't seen a monster movie recently that has topped it.

I want to see the movie, I can see where the hand camera action would look good, but I hope too much of the film wouldn't just be flashing chaos and you can't see what's going on. That's not scary, it's annoying.

It's not like that really. You get heaps of good looks at what's going on, what's attacking etc. The camera guy focuses on stuff a lot more than I would in that situation. I would be the fuck outta there.
