Yes, Meeches have three jaws, and two mouths, though I wonder how often they choke like those two headed animals do...:P
Though I'd assume they're adapted so that they don't end up doing that. Ruins that joke then...well, it wasn't that funny, but...shut up! |
Meeches have four jaws according to Lorne, in an interview conducted after Abe’s Exoddus, and so after Meeches were modelled.
If Meeches were modelled for AO, wouldn’t they have been sculpted by the Shiflett Brothers like Scrabs and Paramites? |
Yeah if you look closely at the Meech picture the middle jaw has some teeth that face downwards, which I would guess the middle jaw has a top and bottom to it.
|
This hasn't been officially confirmed but we were discussing some time ago the possibility that Meeches have only one mouth with four jaws that close on the left, right, up and down.
|
If that's the case, the teeth in the concept art don't seem particularly accurate. ..
|
It is only concept art. It’s allowed to be ‘inaccurate’.
|
Considering that's the only picture we've really got, I'm expecting it to be fairly accurate. The Meech Munchies poster in the final game also bears a decent resemblance to it.
I suppose this is to be another question for OWI... |
Back from vacation and I see all this :D
Very intresting new information coming from ML, but don't over flood him with mails. Until now all the question I've seen were intresting and resulted in intresting answers, but don't begin to brother Matt just for the sake of it ;) |
I'm not, I try to wait until multiple questions pile up (or anything really specific) before sending to him.
I'm asking about the whole Meech jaw thing if a few other noteworthy questions come up to send also. |
I got the impression that there was going to be a "Meechonia" type place, but when technical or time restraints cut it from the game, it was then that they were chosen to be extinct critters, thus removing their sacred status, temple and opening up the prospect for having two scars on the hand. Then again, I doubt they would have been sacred at all anyway, and that their level would merely be an obstacle between Abe and some other goal. If they were sacred, they would have been part of Shrykull, but their torso is a different shape than that of scrabs and paramites, who were designed so that they could be fused so effectively. Unless that iteration is all that meeches were, and before the scrab/paramite/shrykull thing was conceived.

As requested by our Lord and Master, I’ve had to separate all the Citizen Siege discussion into a new thread (to aid with the future expansion of OWF). This thread, ‘Citizen Siege correspondence’, will be moved to the Citizen Siege forum when the time comes.
Yes, this messes up some posts and quotes, and I’m not over the moon with that either, but there should now be a bit more order about things. |
just a comment about the future games being 2D, not likely if its on a "3rd generation" console, however it could be a mixture of both 2d and 3d, imagine abes oddseey but the static 2d rendered backgrounds are 3d and the camera sorta pans around, that could be cool
there was one on the ps2 which was somthing like what im talking about, cant quite remeber the name of it, i think it was called "klona" or somthing :s |
I see what you mean, I've got Klonoa: Lunatea's Veil, though I don't know if curves in the level would be such a good idea, it would work very awesomely. That would truly be the perfect way for the Oddworld games to be presented.
Love to see the Scrab battles in that. |
Great information from OWI
