Except for me. I love ponies and gypsies and gum drops.

Zozo is a guy.

We're both getting warnings for doing this, I hope you know.

I guess so. Well, until a mod comes online, I'll live. And on topic, I don't flame noobs. But others do. Because they are mean or short tempered. Or just hate noobs.

OANST 07-08-2007 02:21 PM

I think it's pretty mean how you've been going around flaming me without me even knowing. Every thread I go into that you've posted in you've made some comment about how awful I am even though I have only spoken to you like twice (apart from this thread) and hadn't posted at all in the thread where you were discussing me. Excuse me, I need to stomp away and dry my eyes.

Funnies at the expense of others. Which don't amuse me, same as encyclopedia dramatica doesn't.

What? Encyclopedia Dramatica's the shit (even though a lot of it is straight from Something Awful).

Their article on WWII = gold.

Why do you consider dark or crude humor to be used at the expense of others?

Mutual Friend 07-08-2007 02:35 PM

He didn't say he did. He's saying Hobo and OANT's humour is, which is true.

It is shi. It makes fun of people. Most dark or crude homour I see to be at the expense of others when it makes fun of people. Like South Park and celebrities. I think I'm screwed for so much off topicness....Well on topic...I can't think of anything to say on topic....Yay noobs.

Wha?...Okay, I know I'm screwed when Max finally posts, so I'll just dissapear... On topic, I think I saw one of the moderators flaming a member once.

Mutual Friend 07-08-2007 02:44 PM

Come on, you had a decent-ish line of thought going on, now you're throwing in South Park into this? Oh well.

I don't see what people are trying to debate here, exactly. Yes, some people main source of humour IS at the expense of others. It's perfectly reasonable for someone to find that out of order. I do occasionally when the person being picked on is perfectly nice and innocent, and the remark isn't actually funny. But usually this isn't the case, because there's hardly anyone on here who isn't a poser of some description.

Don't betray our love.

I'm only recognising someone may have a legitimate beef - but not one I generally share. No betrayal of love.

We cool? We cool?

Well, you haven't been that off topic. Apart from all that refusal to eat shit business. Weirdo.

OANST 07-08-2007 02:50 PM

We cool. Just watch it.

Sweetheart.

Am I supposed to spell sweetheart as a single word? Somehow it feels right but doesn't look right.

You can hyphenate it, if you like. Both work fine.

Whatever makes you feel comfortable.

I agree that there is far too much flaming of new members. I came in here a couple months ago and was darn near crucified for my religious beliefs (which involve crucifixion, pun intended) so I've just been hanging out and watching instead of posting. People shouldn't be so intolerant.

Mutual Friend 07-08-2007 02:59 PM

Ho ho! Damn, for a 10 year-old your grammar is exceptional.

For a 20+ year-old. Not so much.

Bitter Buffalo 07-08-2007 03:01 PM

I think my grammar would give most 20 year olds a run for their money. I do my best to feed my mind as I would my soul.

I think that Oanst character should have his mouth washed out with soap for even implying such a thing. Honestly, can you believe the sort of foolishness that is tolerated around here?

Seriously, WTF? What do you think I’m going to do? What do you people expect of me? I laughed my head off at that conversation. Almost all humour is at someone’s expense. Stop worrying about it so much. Most people can handle it, and it knocks some humbleness into people who really need some humbleness.

:pI thought you were gonna infract me for off topic spam. And I hate humour at someone's expense when its just plain harsh and insulting and the person gets a sick kick out of hurting people's feelings. Humour at someone's expense has boundaries. And I've had my feelings hurt plently of times before on the internet, I don't see how insulting someone makes them humble.

Mutual Friend 07-08-2007 03:20 PM

Don't be hurt by crap from complete strangers on the internet. Pull up your apron strings and buck your ideas up.

EDIT: I remove cock.

Yes, some people main source of humour IS at the expense of others.

I make fun of me, myself and I. In most cases I make fun of those three at the same time.

I only put humour on the expense of others when they annoy me.

What the hell do you consider funny then? Oh forget it, you'll probably say something like "I have a good life with good friends, I don't need to have lots of humor." But just remember this, sonny, all good crude humorists or whatever should know that if they're willing to dish it out, they better be able to take it. I make fun of people behind their backs all the time, and I expect something bad in return. But if they can't see me for what I am to them, an asshole, then they're wasting their breathe. Assholes such as oanst and myself don't give two ****s whether or not you're offended. The person should be mature enough to just shrug off our disgusting form of humor. You live miles upon miles away and will probably never encounter us in real life. What the hell do we care what you think?

You're a man.

:)I find this funny, even though my sound isn't working http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f57aYASKeRU&NR=1 . I don't see how maturity comes into shrugging off insults, people called me a freak to my face, but I didn't see the humour. Ah yah, and if you keep on making fun of people behind their backs.....Well yeah, someone might find out, you could lose friends, bladibladibla. And a-holes are exactly what I don't like, you can be humourous and not a hole.

Do you think that someone calling you a freak to your face may not be attempting humor?

BTW that is the ugliest frigg`n dog i have ever had the displeasure of viewing.

Aww, come on. You're either being more than slightly disingenuous here, or just plain stoopid. I would hope you recognise rudeness when you see it, that not everything is game for a laugh - not some absolute 'I'm an asshole, it's what I do: deal' bollocks.

Besides, of course you'd be bothered whether or not someone is offended by something outrageous being said. Can you imagine if you got no reaction at all?! By god, you'd be so disappointed without your moment of validation.

Anyway, I'm mainly playing devil's advocate here, because someone may actually have a legitimate point here and I don't want to see them simply being shouted down simply because they aren't hip enough to be in your crowd.

If you were so completely secure in your asshole-ness (I probably had that stage when I was 13), then why attack someone so profusely who's doing simply what you ask for? The person who's answering back, who decided not to take people's crap. Just like you asked for. Or was it not the right kind of rebuttal?

Now, here's the rub: either your statement above is actually some vaguely post-modernist, ironic comment on your disability to empathise OR you actually believe that contradictory nonsense.

Disingenuous or stoopid. Which? Which!

EDIT: Because I don't think this is clear from all of the above, just to say I really have no problem with the sort of humour Zozo takes umbrage with, and in fact the people who would perhaps be seen to be the main perpetrators are actually my favourite members on here. Including Used. But the aggression shown isn't justified or helpful, it just makes me cringe. I'm fine with the piss-taking, I'd probably be doing the same if EVERYONE wasn't so dismissive of the point, but to actually try to debunk an argument which isn't all that unreasonable with such a zealous streak is, for me, just ridiculous. Especially as it's the sort of thing some young idiot would come along and punch the air and say 'right on!' to.

And once again: I love Used, I want his babies, but I think he's way off base here.
