Glukkons wear buisness suits.

snuzi 02-10-2007 09:59 PM

Not all of them. Just look at Molluck. And they aren't exactly suits, more like sleeveless, pantless, blanket-ish things.

moxco 02-10-2007 10:00 PM

What about clarkerz?

snuzi 02-10-2007 10:14 PM

What about them? :fuzconf:

Nate 02-10-2007 10:18 PM

They wear normalish clothes.

I think the point we have to remember is that OWI design the clothing to serve the design of the characters. Glukkons are businessmen so they have business suits. Clakkers are dumb, southern everyman characters so they have very humanoid traits and fashion.

Vykkers are meant to be very alien to us and their lack of clothing emphasises that. I hope this answers your question Moxco.

moxco 02-10-2007 11:28 PM

Yes it does, thank you nate.
Told ya snuzi :p.

1. What is, "The Brutal Ballad of Fangus Klot?" I saw it on Wikipedia and Togg, but I never heard of it anywhere else. I've heard of SligStorm and Squeek's Oddysee, but never this.

2. Who is the Chronicler?

3. What ever happened to Elum? I know you can find dead Elums on the last level of MO, but he never appeared in AE.

Nate 02-11-2007 05:45 PM

Welcome to the forums. The answer to all of your forums can be found here: http://www.oddworldforums.net/search.php?f=6 . Searching for already answered questions saves this thread from being swamped with repeats.

Enjoy your stay.

does Abe actually have a pet Elum, or was it just considered his pet since he rode it?

i mean, he just kinda rode an elum through two areas that were pretty far away from eachother.. maby your just riding "an elum" and its actually a different both times he uses them?

i know it doesnt really matter, im just curious if OWI has ever said anything abut it..

Jordan 02-11-2007 10:18 PM

I'm sure it's just a random Elum, I don't think an Elum could travel between Paramonia and Scrabania, unless they jumped through the wells leading to the Monsaic Lines.

Are OW cigars made of tabbaco or are they made of fuzzle hair and other random crap, or somthing else enterly diff?

Zerox 02-12-2007 10:07 AM

Interesting question!
No one could be sure, but it would seem to be that it isn't, presuming that Oddworld plants, as similar as they are to Earth's, aren't the same species. Something similar is obviously being used, though. Almost definitely plant material, though.

moxco 02-12-2007 10:16 AM

I think remeber In an OW movie a glukkon mentioning tabacco.

Zerox 02-12-2007 01:25 PM

@ the Elum question: The game originally was planned with Abraham Lure, a fisherman ('Lure' name? it was meant to be based off that) and his pet, Elum, moving from a forest environment to a factory one (within the storyline), but they felt it stronger to start off in the factory. The fishing rod was gone, but Elum remained, as it were. The pet idea partially remianed, so it is oft mentioned, even though Elum isn't specifically Abe's pet, or the 'one' that is featured in AO.

They never mentioned tobacco.

Nate 02-12-2007 05:31 PM

My memory is a bit shaky on this but was there once a mention of a tobacco factory?

Bullet Magnet 02-12-2007 05:38 PM

Which game? I never heard of it.

Unless you mean Lungbuster's.

moxco 02-12-2007 08:58 PM

No I think lung buster is a medication for bad lung or somthing.

Nate 02-12-2007 09:03 PM

Lungbusters are a form of self-medicating euthanasia - "Who wants to grow old anyway!". I still have a vague memory of a seperate Tobacco factory anyway.

*waits for Max to come and clear this up*

Keywords "LUNG" and "BUSTER."

haha, so that would explain all the concept art in the end of AO xD
two more questions:

1: ive read the background on the Raisen, but why do the muds follow it?

2: in AE, before you enter the scrab vaults, you can actually run and jump off the side, and wind up at the entrence to the paramite vaults. if you were to go into the paramite vaults, when you get out, would you just skip the scrab vaults, or would you have to go back?

ive wondered this for years.. and every time i go back to check, i end up forgetting and going through the scrab vaults again...

I guess they see him as some wise, leader type person, and they follow him... I don't actually know to be honest! :p

If you go to the Paramite Vaults first, which I always do, and you finish them, straight after it takes you in front of the Mudanchee Vaults. I always save the Scrabs till last, they're my favourite.

Satch 02-12-2007 11:06 PM

now that you mention that, i think i might have actually done that a few years ago and just forgotten about it.. anyway, i always wondered kuz you see your options in AO, theyr both there. you can go to either one and youll come back to the same place.. but in AE, once you go to the entrence of the paramite vault, you cant go back, so it always lead me to beleive that you couldnt go back. ever. <,<

Wil 02-13-2007 01:45 AM

I don’t remember any explicit mention of tobacco.

/me disappears again.

Zerox 02-13-2007 02:41 AM

The Almighty Raisin is followed by the Mudokons for a number of reasons. It is very old, thousands of years old, and so very wise, so seeking advice from it would be quite wise in itself. The Raisin also eminates powerful spiritual energy, so when in the cavern in MO, for example, all that spooce growing around it comes. Being that the Mudokons are a spiritual race, they are 'attracted' to it, also.
Lungbuster's aren't meant to help at all! They're just fags/cigarretes. They're life prohobiting, like all the Vykkers products (well, not all, but you get the idea).

Jordan 02-13-2007 05:57 AM

Lungbuster is like a quick way of taking Nicotine in, it's probably for those who can't afford cigars or something.

Satch 02-13-2007 04:52 PM

why do they refer to the stockyards as "The Free-Fire Zone" in the booklet of AO?

I think that Lungbuster was the more expensive kind, like what Molluck smoked.
And I don't ever remember hearing an refrences to tobacco, or a factory for it.
I guess we are all habing problems with the nicotine products today.

Bullet Magnet 02-13-2007 05:36 PM

The Vykkerz were being paid to make the nicotine in Lungbuster Cigars more addictive.
