''

Wil 11-17-2006 02:20 AM

Yeah, but Nate, Lucasarts don’t accept my card, so I’m Psychonautically deaf. :(

From what people are saying, there seems to be a problem with downloading the Abe’s Oddysee rip. It could easily be because of its filename, which I was going to change before SligStorm posted the link and people started downloading. :p It should download, now.

Nate 11-17-2006 09:00 PM

Do you mean Doublefine, Max?

Wil 11-18-2006 03:09 AM

Yeah, possibly.

no_us3rname, whilst the lucasarts soundtracks are available for free (and approved) download, the Psychonauts one is only available for purchase and, as such, we can't allow you to offer to give it to anyone.

Hello Nate Dog Woof! I'd like to correct by saying I don't have any PsychoNauts music files from the official soundtrack, I'm only owning some mp3 loops which didn't make it onto the cd and got put online officially and for free.
Excuse my shake up on the official stuff here!

Hmm.. the link's not working (anymore?) on my pc!

CORRECTION: It does. for now. now. yeah, i believe it does..

aaj111 11-25-2006 04:14 PM

Oh AWESOME! Thanks for that Link, I love you... ...Eh not really.

Nate 11-25-2006 04:33 PM

no_us3rname, please don't post multiple consecutive posts. Use the EDIT button if you need to change anything and if you want to quote multiple people you can either use the multiquote button ("+) or copy and paste the quote text.

no_us3rname 11-27-2006 11:32 AM

Okay, that's no problem! I'll keep it in mind. Thanks!

Giving this a bump to let everyone know that I'm working on some nice projects. All I can say without giving away too much information is that they're worth waiting for. :)

OddjobAbe 03-05-2007 09:41 AM

I once ripped the Munch's Oddysee GBA music, but it wouldn't burn to my CD. :(
If you could, please rip the Xbox MO music. I love that soundtrack.

I don't quite follow, were you referring to my rip or did you try burning your own? I'm pretty sure my rip wouldn't cause you any trouble while burning to a CD, because of the .mp3 format it's in.

Well, truth be told, this is what I've been working on for the past few months and it hasn't really been easy nor has it given any concrete results. It seems that I might be forced to do a line-in rip, but I'll definitely try and rip this one in the future!

Thank you for this rip, yours burnt perfectly to my CD. Your rips were also much better, as I just ripped all the sounds in the music player, then tried to burn them to a CD. I like the way that the extra parts of music merge in on yours.

Thanks, I'm glad you liked it. :) It's a shame though, that they arranged the music that way. It was really hard to rip and arrange, but I also feel that it brings the game down alot because you don't get to enjoy the music as much as you should be able to. There's the constant change between one build-up tune to the other, it's just not a good solution, because the music is actually pretty good and you tend to miss out on alot of tunes while running through the game.

OddjobAbe 03-05-2007 11:53 AM

I was disappointed that they missed out the soundtrack from the last level in the music player. I had to rip that in-game, and had to rip it several times,, because of Abe's flatulence.

suodd 04-27-2007 09:10 AM

I'd like to ask that how did you get the bonus ending of Oddworld Abe's Oddysee as I want to see it not just hear it. ;)

I think that you have to rescue all 99 mudokons. :)

skillya_glowi 04-27-2007 05:35 PM

That actually depends. If you have the PC version, it's not on there (it was only released on the PS as far as I know). I'm not sure, but I think that not all of the PS discs have the movie. So there's a very small chance you actually might be able to see it.

Nate 04-28-2007 12:53 AM

If you mean the 'Guardian Angel' FMV; it was only put in the PS version of AO. To see it, you must either rescue all 99 muds or use the movie viewer cheat. Alternatively, you might be able to find the SW bonus DVD, which has all the films of Oddworld.

That said, you shouldn't have revived such an old thread to ask something that was off-topic. You could have found the answer by searching the forums or just asking in the Q&A thread.

Killy 04-29-2008 02:32 PM

I know this is a year-old bump, but I'm just digging this up to make sure those of you who've missed this thread get to download some of this stuff.

That, and I've ordered a copy of Stranger's Wrath and Munch's Oddysee for the Xbox. It'll take some time, but my intention is to rip Munch's Oddysee. A line-in recording seems to be the only option. I've been digging around in the game's archive long enough but to no avail. As for Stranger's Wrath - I've managed to extract all the game music there is, but it has yet to be arranged. Furthermore, I'll still have to consider releasing it because I wouldn't want it to coincide with any official releases of any future Volumes released by Bross himself - it's his music and I wouldn't want to slap him on the fingers. The only reason he's unable to relase it all is due to legal restrictions from EA's side. So, SW might be released for downloading, maybe.

As for MO, I can't promise anything, but I'll see what I can do. Stay tuned and don't forget this thread!

Mods, again, I apologise for the extreme bump, but I figured it's better than creating a new thread altogether - plus I brought you some good news, I hope. :)

DarkHoodness 04-29-2008 02:59 PM

Ah, cool - I was looking for a place to get the AE music. Thanks for bumping this/ripping the music/other stuff.

Being honest I stumbled across this thread ages ago, then forgot about it. :P Still though, awesome job. IMO I dunno why anyone would wanna listen to the MO soundtrack, but keep up the good work anyway. :)

totor 04-30-2008 08:34 AM

Thank you so much!!!!! Very, very good work

If you read Oddblog's interview with Michael Bross, you will see that that is incorrect. A little birdy has told me that Michael is working on the second album.

The bigger issue is that the mixes that he releases are going to be of a much higher quality than what is on the game disc. I think you should probably not waste your time with SW.

Actually, I had emailed him a while back, but this was before the release of the first volume, so that's a bit of an update. If he does indeed release a second volume, I'd like to be sure that no material is missing. Naturally, I shouldn't waste my time working on it if everything is released, but I feel compelled to make a complete extraction of SW (which is already done, it only needs to be arranged) should he decide to omit anything. I guess time will tell. Thanks for the heads-up Nate, appreciated.

Never Sleeper 05-06-2008 10:10 AM

Hello Everybody,

Iam realy happy that Killy had do all this work to rip the music from the games. Thank you very much. For everyone who want to burn the soundtracks I tried to make a CD Cover for Abe's Oddysee but I'm not a profi.

Cover-Inlay
Back
CD

If you like it would be nice when you can give me a comment what can be improve or anything else. =)

Killy 05-06-2008 11:36 AM

I don't mean to rain on anyone's parade here - Never Sleeper, you've done an awesome job and it's really nice of you to share this with us - but the rips are in dire need of an upgrade, so I'd advise people to check back and get them when they're done.

This cover will however, more than suffice in the meantime. :)

Never Sleeper; Vielen dank für deinen bescheidener Beitrag.

OddYouko 05-06-2008 12:07 PM

I love the AO and AE music rips :) You did an awesome job Killy.
An upgrade? What's the matter with them?

Killy 05-06-2008 01:55 PM

The AO rip was one of my earliest projects, and in hindsight, due to more experience and knowledge in sound engineering, I can clearly notice several flaws in the rip. I'm alot better at mixing samples now and an upgrade will only make it better, in my opinion.

As for AE - I just noticed one of the samples is in monoaural sound, which is simply not acceptable. So, I have no choice but to suspect that other samples are in mono too. This was nothing but a silly mistake, probably due to lack of sleep and me disconnecting the cables at some point between recording sessions. Note that these rips are some 2-3,5 years old - there's plenty of room for improvement.

Furthermore, with recent encoding technology, I'll be able to release these rips in lossless formats - this'll be very useful for the sake of safekeeping and archiving.

And thanks for your kind words, I'm glad you enjoy the music. My hope is that the upgrades will only make it better and easier for all of you to enjoy it even more.

MeechShrykull1029 05-06-2008 04:53 PM

I want those music rips to be on CD.

Nate 05-06-2008 05:10 PM

Soooo... burn them onto a CD.

MeechShrykull1029 05-06-2008 05:11 PM

That would be less official.
