Kind of. I haven't tried it yet, but I think they just turn into rocks. Remember that one place in the Paramonian Temple where, if you had a piece of meat when you entered one of the doors, it turned into a rock and vice versa?
I tried it in FFZ/Monsaic Lines. It worked. I tried throwing rocks at the Native Mudokons...nothing happened :( |

Yes they would turn into rocks. As it would be much to funny to contain inside our lungs before they burst...
|
Objects change from like that because only one type of throwable/holdable item can be assigned to each area presumably due to technical restrictions, so if you're holding something in the Paramonian temple, it will change from meat to rock between certain areas and vise versa...
Stupid Scrabs...you at least get to kill 1 or 2 Scrabs (one I can make fall down the weird well under the pulley bit, and the other I can make commit suicide in the fianl run bit) paramites I can make get squished boulders, rolling stones etc. Why are you saying (last page) that you can kill Paramites and Scrabs with rocks? Was that sarcastic or not? |
You can kill Paramites indirectly with rocks by knocking down beehives on top of them.
|
I never knew that. I think O know the bit you mean, but that's only in one place and I never threw rocks at it. I just leapt in there and did whatever it was (can't 'member*shot*) that needed doing in there quickly. I think you use lumps of meat in that section though. I had meat and lured the paramites with it so I could do it quickly...I think...
|
Can you get rocks in the Scrabanian Temple? I can't remember if you can or can't... It would be cool to get meat in the Scrabanian Temple, so you can throw it at the Scrabs and distract them, I'd just love to explode them with the Grenades too, but the game would be too easy.
|
I don't think you can get either rocks or meat in the scrabanian temple.
|
I knew you couldn't get meat, but I forgot whether you could get rocks or not, but would the Scrab eat the meat if it's intended for a Paramite?
|
Impossible to say as you can't have meat on the same screen as a scrab.
If somehow it did happen due to some bug or whatever, I imagine nothing would happen as the scrab would not be programmed to react to meat. |
Yeah, that's right, but I don't think the meat would be enough for the Scrab, seeing as it's so small, but a Scrab would eat anything lol.
The game would probably freeze if meat was on the same screen as a Scrab. |
There are rocks. They are the first in the list of holadable objects, so are default. You use them in one part to blow some mines up. There IS meat in one bit, but that only has a Slog and some bats in it.
F*cking bats... |
What?! I don't remember using meat to distract slogs!
Are you becoming confused with bones in AE? |
Actually, I was going through the Stockyards once (on the return to RuptureFarms), and I was on the screen with the motion detectors that called up a Slig whenever I moved (I found a rather clever way to get through this screen, even though this has nothing to do with what I am talking about, but then again, I have been playing that game for so long that I find rather clever ways to do almost anything, and why I am rambling on about this, I do not know). Anyhoo, I had a rock with me, because you...er, have to have a rock with you to do that screen, and I went to the left, where you could see the drop with the bats. I was screwing around and threw the rock down, right at the bats. What was weird was that, once the rock has reached them, the bats seemed to follow it and flew away.
|
Yes, bats seem to have done the same thing on other screens when
I used to play AO. But if you're talking about that cliff screen with the moon behind it (I think), that was the method of getting past those bats. I use it the same way all the time when I play AO. |
I don't recall ever using rocks to distract bats, yet now you mention it I do remember bats following a rock once...
|
i don't understand what is the reason to distract bats.....
(answer my question plz exoddus under xp^^) |
I think that it may just be that the bats flocked at the moment you threw the rock. There are a few screens like that where the bats fly around a little as you enter then flock off quickly.
|

|
So? I already knew that.
|
Yeah, they're supposed to tell you to be patient like I am or
to die trying to get past them. I just wait until they fly away. |

Gather and fly off together, was what I meant, seeing as they allegedly collect around the rock.

I still maintain* that it's just a coincidence of timing.
*That may be a tautology. I don't care. |
Those three bats don't ever fly off.
|
...But when I throw the rock at them, the image of the bats seems to refresh (disappear for a millisecond, then appear again) or blink, and then all three of the bats follow the rock at once. I'll make a video or something I guess, then I could show all you doubtful bastards :D
It works on the secret in the Free-Fire Zone with the mines and the bird portal, just under and to the right of the screen we're talking about, on the way from RuptureFarms, but is much less impressive. |
