Thanks for all the wonderful replies to the Strakk picture. Here's a picture of how I think Afterworld would look. It's based heavily on Barlowe's Inferno, but I should be able to personalize it as time goes on. I'll also try to give it a splash of color this weekend, but I am so tired right now... Also, one side of that eye-cube dude is voiced bt Adam Carolla, and NOT JUST BECAUSE I SAW HIS NEW SHOW AND RECOGNISED HIM AS THE GUY WHO PLAYED SPANKY HAMM ON DRAWN TOGETHER!! That cube's name is the "Quadroptis," and is the gatekeeper of Afterworld. To get in (or past them), you have to do something for their personal benifit. This might also serve as a good puzzle element for the game that doesn't exist. ...Yet. |
I love the surrealism you used in that poic, dippy. I'm afraid to say I always pictured an afterland as all of that cloudy bushwa. *sigh*
Anyway, great job! Drawn Together, I wish they would make a new season! That was the best animation on Comedy Central besides South Park! |
I <3 the surrealism of the Underworld picashure. Weird mishapen trees are kewlness in my book.
And the lolerphant has a very different feel to your usual art direction, save the huge lizardy thing on your Photobucket account. Noice!1. |
Ah, so THAT'S your Underworld. It looks awesome, much like your inspiration. I love the cube-eye. :D

Just a quick splash of color, to get an idea of the proportions of it. |
|
 Dunno why, but I found all of Quad's expressions hysterical... Yeh, I'm weird.... But loved the character study Dipstikk! :D
|
It looks quite surrealistic. Especially the rock with those eyes O_o
You are very good at drawing enviornments! Your sense of fantasy always impressed me. |
I really like the detail you used in Quad. Especially the miffed expression.

Alf color guide. He is NOT JUST GREEN, at least not anymore. He had a nice mix of browns, greens and whites in MO, which I absolutely loved compared to his AE color scheme. Typing of Alf, does anyone have any theories on how his fez stays on his head? I used to think he shaved his ponytail off or something and he was bald, but he might have a nub of ponytail under it. http://i11.photobucket.com/albums/a1...gs_Smaller.jpg Actra's colors. I'm starting to dig the spots. Her fur is very, very short and smooth, almost has a silky feel to it. Noctero silk is extremely popular among the high-rollers of the Magog Cartel. Other parts are used too... oops! Don't want to give too much away! http://i11.photobucket.com/albums/a1...rt_reduced.jpg Next up: Munch's color scheme. LATAMARE MUNCH HAS THE MOST CONFUSING COLOR SCHEME OF ANYONE I'VE EVER DONE! Jesus H. Christ! His may take a while longer than the others. Also coming soon: Male Noctero color scheme, the Gluks that own New Rupturefarms. |
I personally think the Mudokons with the 'fez' have had their ponytail things cut off to a stump and they wrap something around it. OR - They wrapped that string thing around the base of their ponytail as to cut off blood circulation.
Munch is all like : "I'mma gonna kick yo' ass BITCH!". :D |
http://i11.photobucket.com/albums/a1...de_smaller.jpg
Here's Munch, all dolled up in color. I've been using the dodge and burn tools instead of making two extra layers to shade and highlight them. It's turning out a lot nicer than anything I've ever done before, if I do say so. And you know I do. |
Jeez, old Latamire has been having too many cheesy puffs lately! Great job though,. the expression on his face IS phenominal.

More Afterworld concepts
http://i11.photobucket.com/albums/a1...tis_Rigera.jpg http://i11.photobucket.com/albums/a1...ation_Tree.jpg (Think "The Wisdom Cube" of ATHF) Pugsley, done with refrences http://i11.photobucket.com/albums/a1...ed_smaller.jpg |
Amazing work with the colors, as always. And the Afterworld art is great. Your characters are interesting, too, I like the design of Quad and the Conversation Tree.
|
Ah yes, the Wisdom Cube, one of my favorite villians. Kudos to you for that! Now how about the Brood Witch...

Actra's dad. Usually a level-headed Noc, that is until a Slig shot his wife in the back. |
I whistle in appreciation of your artwork, originality and oddness Mr. Dipstikk ;)

Thanks, Million Mud March. :D
Here's something I whipped up in about a half-hour. Next up: Noctero Culture. Noctero biology -All females are born with large, usable wings. Males are born with small wings, and as a result are unable to fly. Male Noctero will flap their wings vigeriously when annoyed. -Noctero teeth are set as follows: Two "buck-teeth" in the front that have a prong on the inside of them; a set of large fangs on the top jaw, on either side of the buckteeth; and ten sharp, curved teeth (5 on each side, 20 in all) going all the way back to the end of the gums. -Noctero teeth interlock when their mouths are closed. If a Noctero loses a tooth, it will usually grow back in the exact position of the fallen tooth to ensure that the jaw closes properly. In rare cases, the bucktooth could come back in slanted slightly. -Noctero have two hornlike protrusions along their skull. These are not horns, but rattles that they shake when agitated. There is also something similar on the bottom of the ear, but this is immobile. -Almost all Noctero are born with black hair and eyebrows. In previous years, Noctero who were born with a tint other than black were considered unholy and tossed off of cliffs. Nowadays, they have discontinued this barberic and supersticious ritual, but still reguard them as outcasts. Some Noctero, in recent years, have died their hair different colors in certain spots in order to rebel against this. -Noctero females were usually born with svelt, thin bodies that allow for smooth flying. But in the years spent in captivity and due to the factory-supplied foods, the females have begun to grow out, so to speak. Actra's friend, Lyddea, would be a perfect example. Her current diet of New RuptureFarms products caused her breasts to grow out so much that it makes it almost impossible for her to fly until her wing muscles adjust to the weight (which could take anywhere between a few months to a few years). Actra herself has slightly larger hips than most females. -The tail of a Noctero is stiff and halted with rods of bone running along the sides of the tail vertibrae. It is only able to be lifted and turned slightly at the base. This makes the tail into a good rudder during flight. Noctero keep their tail raised while walking. -Noctero are purely carnivorous. They will eat anything that has a pulse, from taking down paramites to catching ratz and chippunks on the go. The diet at New RuptureFarms, however, is more fat than meat. -Noctero walk on the tips of their toes, with their foot suspended off the ground. Noctero usually have a hunched posture to balance, but are very graceful movers (males moreso than females). |
http://i11.photobucket.com/albums/a1...et_smaller.jpg
A new image of Actra. I may spread the wings out somehow, they seem kind of short. (each wing is the length of her body) http://i11.photobucket.com/albums/a1...et_Smaller.jpg Actra's friend, Lyddea. She works at the ginder engine room (you know, meat grinders). Like in the bio, her... ahem... extremities are caused by a diet that consists of nothing but the products made at New Rupturefarms (that's all the Noctero are fed, besides the occasional rodent that makes it's home there. Most Nocs prefer to eat sparingly or starve, which is why a lot of the Noctero are either so thin or so meaty.). The boobs look too high. Kimon thinks they're fine, but I'm gonna fix it in sketch 2. (I draw another, cleaner sketch over this one, it makes the inking easier.) |
:
Anyway, yeah, already told you what I thought of those. But I actually hadn't seen the coloring jobs above, and I gotta the say, the Munch one rocks my fucking world. |
http://i11.photobucket.com/albums/a1...et_number2.jpg
Lyddea sketch #2 http://i11.photobucket.com/albums/a1...ctra_sheet.jpg Actra sketch #2 *raised her wings a bit and smallified her calve muscles.* NOTE TO ME: Work on giving her wing-bones a little muscletone. It looks like a tarp held up by toothpicks. Maybe lower her tail a few degrees. http://i11.photobucket.com/albums/a1...or_smaller.jpg LOOK OUT IT GIT U IN SL33P |
great art dipstikk :D did you use photoshop for that? Quads almighty expression is so funny :P

Tapewoimz. They may look like 40-foot long viperfish with arms, but they're actually related to birds. They live deep underground, and create vast tunnel systems, some of which were unknowingly used by the Mudokons in the creation of their temples. They have a very laid-back lifestyle, and the group Actra and the others meet haven't moved from their home in years. Unfortunately, their tunnel is placed along the sewer system for New Rupturefarms, which is... really starting to piss them off. Why, if it wasn't for their peace-loving nature and the giant, hallucinogenic mushrooms, why they might just do something about it. Oh, did I forget to mention the giant, hallucinogenic mushrooms? Premo stuff, man. Killer. It's like, all your troubles just... melt away, man. Then your hands start to grow and shrink in front of your eyes, and before you know it, your pupils dialate you think you're a car. http://i11.photobucket.com/albums/a1...ll_smaller.jpg Skull of a Tapewoim. http://i11.photobucket.com/albums/a1...et_smaller.jpg This one was a little crooked. Nothing a little Photoshop can't handle. http://i11.photobucket.com/albums/a1...et_smaller.jpg BOOBS. http://i11.photobucket.com/albums/a1...xpressions.jpg Alf expressions. http://i11.photobucket.com/albums/a1...xpressions.jpg Munch expressions. |
 :cheer: wow Dip those are SOOOO GOOOOD:D I like the way you draw the Noctero's, Alf and also Munch:p
And I love how you drew Actra's father! anger... *applauses* Great Job Dip! looking forward to see more of yer AMAZING art:D |

Thanks, ladies.

Size Comparison Chart (incomplete)
A size-comparison chart for the cast of Actra's Oddysee. Note Roid's new design and the 4 new characters: (I've linked the image- it was way too big.) http://i11.photobucket.com/albums/a1...k2/Wendell.jpg Wendell Voice actor I would choose: Patric Warburton Wendell owes the group a life-debt after Actra saves him from a group of Bigbro Sligs (who were really after her). He's built like a tank, and for some reason, is much larger than most Mudokons. He's loyal to a fault, and never says die. He's named after my Digital Publishing teacher. http://i11.photobucket.com/albums/a1...stikk2/Nac.jpg Nac Voice actor I'd choose: Charles Adler (thouhg he speaks in a very declaritive way; think Doctor Orpheus from Venture Bros) Actra, Alf, and Munch are referred to him by Wendell (who knows him through the "Friend of a freind" process). When they meet him, Nac is proforming his "Mystical Forces with Nac" magical act. The team soon finds out that Nac is really an out-of-work Necormancer, who quit due to to many "I want to see my loved one again" requests. Actra needed a vast army, and Nac readily agreed. Finally, someone who wanted to put his skills to some real use! http://i11.photobucket.com/albums/a1...on_smaller.jpg Judd Voice actor I'd choose: Jeff Glenn Bennett (Talks like an elequent southerner, like Loveless of Wild Wild West or Tom Hanks' character from The Ladykillers) Juddrey Theodore Glukkon started where Mullock left off and re-built Rupturefarms, a throne which he had then sat on for 15 years. But instead of hiring Mudokons to do his work and getting his ass handed back to him by Abe, he decided to locate a new race to exploit. The Noctero were high on his list. Taking up a new slave force without knowing much about them is risky business, and the Cartel made him promise to keep them contained, or his business would be shut down. But now Actra is on the loose, and he needs to make damn sure that her little stunt doesn't attract media attention. http://i11.photobucket.com/albums/a1...ov_smaller.jpg Borsikov Voice actor I'd use: Anyone who can pull off a deep-voiced Russian accent. A much more compident general than Dripik (and he proclaims it proudly), his army is more of a mercinary service and he runs it. Judd inlists his help after word spread of Actra's escape. He is stern and intimidating, and runs his army like a well-oiled machine. He has a flying slig assistant named Ike, who has a german accent. "Yes, mein leige." http://i11.photobucket.com/albums/a1...id_smaller.jpg A better picture of Roid Roid Before the team leaves Afterworld for the mortal realm, Munch meets up with his old aquaintances, Humphrey and Irwin. They're required to train him to better use his head port, or they spend the next 2 centuries in solitary. As a better, more electrified Munch hops away, Humphrey sticks him with a syringe. They claim it's a "body enhancer," and Munch doesn't know how right they are. Back in the mortal realm, and after they enlist the aide of Wendell, Munch gets sick and tired of being teased by Alf. So sick of it, in fact, that he becomes miffed, angry, and then enraged. His body quakes and he grows to an immense size. His anger has triggered the steroids that were ingected into him, warping his appearance and making him almost invincible. He attacks the team, only to be stopped by Wendell. Once he calms down and reduces in size, he sees the damage his rampage has caused, and the friends he almost killed. Other new stuff http://i11.photobucket.com/albums/a1...ardMembers.jpg (Self-explanitory) http://i11.photobucket.com/albums/a1...s1_smaller.jpg http://i11.photobucket.com/albums/a1...s2_smaller.jpg Mudokon residents of Afterworld http://i11.photobucket.com/albums/a1...de_smaller.jpg Another view of Roid. PURE RAGE. (Heh... you know, "Pure Rage" would be a great title for the issue that introduces Roid.) |
Holy crappers! Roid's HUGE! But very cool. :D Love the new char's, what happened to the Mudokon residents of Afterworld?
Anyway, up to your usual standard as always, and lookin' forward to more, and for Actra's Oddysee as well. :D |
hey, wow! fantastic arts
