Wait, weren't you the one who made the 'What do you look like?' thread into a 'Criticizing Dress Codes' thread?! Forgive me if I'm wrong, but I don't ever recall that thread being called 'What do you dress like?' and I'm sure you don't either. Let's not get silly about this, now. Practise what you preach. Hypocrite.

That thread was about what people look like, and the last time I checked, the way people dress comes under the catagory of what people look like, since it plays a large part in the way people look. Now, at this point I would forgive you for being wrong (since you asked me to), but because you called me a hypocrite, (and that's not very nice) I'm not going to.

By the way, your double post really dented your credibility. I'd avoid doing that in future if I were you.

soulstice 04-03-2005 11:56 AM

Well, I didn't ask for forgiveness. Especially not from you. I don't expect to be forgiven by anyone - I don't appreciate being patronised and I won't be by you. And, you began talking about dress codes, so in a sense you did what I did in your post. You began straying off the topic and posts followed that began to discuss your estrangement from the topic. The 'What do you look like?' thread was more of a thread to see how people look like facially, not to debate their clothes. You also could've quite politely asked me not to stray off your topic, but as you did so in a rather impolite way, I don't think you can criticize my credibility and I don't appreciate someone who doesn't even remotely know me comment on my credibility. I didn't know people got so petty over someone posting twice. I wasn't planning on posting twice, but as I thought I wouldn't be posting in this thread for a while, I posted two views at the same time. What's the difference? Me posting twice at different time slots or posting twice at the same time? Enlighten me.

AquaticAmbi 04-03-2005 12:16 PM

People get so irritated by that because it's one of the most clearly stated rules of the forums. By the way, Dino, you're now equally responsible for the hijacking of your own thread.

Anywho... Mmyep... Poor Pope guy. I found it sort of funny that the crowd of people had to be told to be quiet so he could sleep though. I didn't mention earlier, like others, that I hated that he suffered so much in his last days. But at least it's over now, and he's in a better place now if you believe in that sort of thing.

Disgruntled Intern 04-03-2005 12:49 PM

I went to the screen-printer and had one hundred 'anti pope' t-shirts printed off.

I sold every one of them for twenty dollars a piece.

The best part was that the news was covering his memorial service at LA's biggest catholic church, and I saw several people outside wearing my shirts. I'm great.

Hunk of Steef 04-03-2005 12:56 PM

The pope finally died.

Read before you post, stupid.-DI

I hope the next Pope is much more liberal. And less Polish.

Statikk HDM 04-03-2005 06:54 PM

JP II was the most liberal pope in CENTURIES. All we can do is hope for someone half as tight as JP II.

Well, I sure hope that he will be as good as John Paul II was.

And what do you mean by 'less Polish'? :fuzconf:

Leto 04-04-2005 01:36 AM

Old man dies. Old man wears a cone hat. Life continues.

I made a cone out of paper for my guinea pig to wear upon his head, so I consider him the new pope.

it was a joke, and they're ruined when you have to explain them, so I won't. :p

Yeah, he IS in a better place and he isnt suffering. People suffering is not good, least some people here got heart :p

Haha! Yeah sure you didn't. Look: "Forgive me if I'm wrong". Quoted from your post. Dumbass.

:

And, you began talking about dress codes, so in a sense you did what I did in your post. You began straying off the topic and posts followed that began to discuss your estrangement from the topic.

If you'd just stop stubbornly defending your position by arguing with me, then I wouldn't have to keep reasoning with you, and the thread would get itself back on track again.

:

The 'What do you look like?' thread was more of a thread to see how people look like facially, not to debate their clothes.

People always comment on hair, clothes, jewellery etc. - from what I've read (and I've been reading this forum for years) this is the way it always has been and everyone has been fine with it. So for you to just suddenly arrive in all your glory, a newbie poster who's been here for less than 3 months, and start dictating the purpose of the 'what do you look like?' thread, is clearly rediculous.

:

You also could've quite politely asked me not to stray off your topic, but as you did so in a rather impolite way, I don't think you can criticize my credibility and I don't appreciate someone who doesn't even remotely know me comment on my credibility.

What you did was not polite, and therefore doesn't warrant a polite reaction. You didn't just stray off topic, you literally just tried to completely hijack the topic. If you did that to someone in a real life social situation, people would be equally pissed off.

Cyber-Slig 04-05-2005 03:01 PM

Actually soulstice, Dino is right. Although he didn't ask nicely, commenting on clothes does matter with appearance. I suppose if one of the male members posted a pic of him wearing a dress, you wouldn't comment on his clothes?

Hee hee. Now I feel about his death. No senile old man who makes goggle things around his eyes with his hands should suffer.

But seriously, why was he doing that? Is there any sort of explanation?

You're too persistent. Can't you just leave it? 'Forgive me if I'm wrong' is a figure of speech and rhetorical-meant to emphasize someone elses negative-if you're an English speaker, you really should know this and the fact that you don't is rather strange. Gosh, you're like a baby who's lost their dummy. It's over! You really need to learn how to move on. And as I see it, you're not exactly and extremely established member here either, so, once again-don't try to make yourself seem higher than me. You're clearly not. You should really learn how to move on. This is where it ends. Full stop. If you carry it on, then it'll be like posting to a brick wall, because I have no time for people who aren't even remotely worth it. Oh, but one question. What do you mean by 'welcome to nirvana'-the Hindu/Buddhist release from the Agniputra (wheel of life)? Or the band?

AAAARRGH!

You ARE STUPID!

You tell me that I'm too persistent and can't leave it, yet the last post I made in this thread had nothing at all to do with you, and the topic had completely moved on from your sissy argument. You tell me that it's over and I need to move on, but YOU are the one who is still posting. You tell me that I'm not as established as you, and not higher than you, yet I have a higher post count and have been reading the forums since 2002. You tell me that this is where it ends, and that if I carry on it'll be like posting to a brick wall, YET YOU STILL WANT ME TO ANSWER YOUR QUESTION! And even the damn question itself is stupid.

What part of this whole thing don't you get? YOU are the one who needs to leave it and go away, so it is absolutely pointless telling me to drop it. And by the way if you respond to ANY of this then you will not only be a hypocrite, but you will be contradicting your own words.

If it will speed up the process of you getting back on topic, then here is your answer: You wanted me to enlighten you on why double posting is pointless, and I did. Therefore you are enlightened, and all those who are enlightened reach nirvana.

Mods, if there's any more bullshit from Soulstice then PLEASE could you close this thread? I'm fed up with him treating this thread like he can use it as his own personal battlefield.

On second thoughts, I'm not even sure if this thread has any further discussion left in it anyway... Feel free to close at will.

TheRaisin 04-06-2005 09:36 AM

We've resorted to blaspheming and impersonating the late Pope for kicks. Yeah, I'd say this thread has lost its steam.

I have 4 words for arses like you-SHUT THE **** UP! And I don't remember saying I'm more established than you, I just said you're not extremely established. Learn to read. Actually, I'm going to leave what I said in my last post. It's not over. It's not over until you learn to shut your idiotic mouth. You need to step off and seek help for that unwelcome aggression. Loser.

"Pope starts riot on Oddworld Forums after demise."

LMAO

Nepharski 04-06-2005 02:28 PM

From what I've gathered, the recent pope was a great guy. Even if you're not relgious, you should tip your cap to him out of respect. Mind you, I'm a Protestant, so I wasn't quite as connected with this, but still.

Sooo...who's all for titling the next one, "Pope Bob." I think that that would be, like, the best thing ever.

SeaRex 04-06-2005 04:12 PM

Play nice, folks.

For reals.

Or else.

Hunk of Steef 04-07-2005 03:48 PM

Yeah, I'm a protestant, but I still respect the pope, though dont really know how the electing a pope works.

Dipstikk 04-07-2005 04:18 PM

A small bud appears on the dead pope's thigh. It slowly grows into a new pope and seperates from the host body quite violently in a bloody mitosis.

It then wriggles (early-stage popes are usually wormlike and referred to as Larvae) until it plops to the floor into the Pope hat (the catalyst).

(the transformation can cease if the pope hat is not on the floor at the time of mitosis, so it is tradition to place it there.)

Its skin bubbles and writhes as it grows into an upright position. it sheds it's hundreds of legs in place of two human legs, and it's jiggly, sectioned body is replaced by a human body. It assumes a normal "human" position and sits in the last pope's chair.

There you go. A full biological study on how a new pope is "elected."

Hunk of Steef 04-07-2005 06:00 PM

Thats a good theory, or maybe not a theory at all, tomorrow ill probably be told that it is proven. I needed a reason to laugh.
