The CGI just looks like so much turd polishing. Wow, a few nice battle scenes. But guess what? I'll give evens or hell, 3/2, that the movies are awful. Technology has advanced so much since the early 70s but no matter how many special effects Georgie Boy slathers(or should I say smothers) this dreck with it will still be dreck. Give me the originals any day! George Lucas is already one of the richest mofos going in Sci Fi, why did he feel the need to do these money grabs?
P.S., the turd polishing is a reference to this saying, meaning that no matter how refined you make a bad product it is still that, BAD.
"You can polish a turd all day, and you can polish a turd all night, but when tomorrow morning comes that turd is still a turd."

Oddish 03-18-2005 01:47 PM

Georg Lucas says ROTS will be more emotional.

And I thought SW 2 was emotional...

Nate 03-21-2005 05:12 PM

I heard him say that Clone Wars was a love story, whilst this one will be darker and more actiony.

But I liked that trailer. The action looks cool, though the puppets are still acting better than the humans.

Statikk HDM 03-22-2005 11:19 AM

Lucas said, and this is word for word peeps, that this was going to be "Titanic in Space." Then afterwards he said he wouldn't do a movie with Mace Windu and Darth Vader wrecking everyone's shit because thats what everyone wants, but he won't do it. Thats not his vision. COME ON COCKBITE!!! THIS ISN'T ABOUT YOU, ITS THE CONSUMER!!!! We wanna see lighsaber fu, force choking, and all sort of Dark and Light Jedi going medival on each other, not a friggin' love story. Oh, and if this movie just sucks 1/10 the amount that Titanic did this is going to make Howard the Duck look like Citizen Kane.

Grievous info:

I was walkin through the book store the other day, when I came across a SW: Ep. 3 Artbook. I became interested and picked it up. I immediatly turned to the Grievous page. What I have learned:

Grievous is/was a Kaleesh warrior. Dunring the wars between the Kaleesh and Huk, Grievous fell to a Huk Jedi in battle. His body was harvested, and when his vital organs were discovered to still be intact, he was resurrected as a cyborg.

The book doesn't go on to say if the Kaleesh won that war, but it would seem so.

Grievous' peers taunt him in secret for being resurrected (some kind of honor thing, I'm assuming)

Since the wars, Grievous has hatched an extreme hatred towards all Jedi. He will slaughter any Jedi that crosses his path- except Darth Sideous, of course.

When he kills a Jedi, he takes the Jedi's lightsaber as a trophy. It is said Grievous has hundreds.

Grievous is in no way shape or form a Jedi himself, but his cyborg enhancments make it possible for him to wield a lightsaber more efficiantly than even a Jedi. Grievous' two arms are able to seperate and dislocate, becoming four arms, which enables Grievous to wield four lightsabers at a time.

Grievous has 6 fingers on each hand instead of 5, which could enable him to wield a lightsaber. That, or Kaleesh had 6 fingers to begin with....

Oddish 04-03-2005 12:19 PM

I like this Grievous guy, best the cyborg I seen.

I read it was a shuttle crash. And that deep down he feels humiliated for being resurrected as a cyborg.

Nate 04-03-2005 09:08 PM

Well that makes sense, I was wondering how there could be two apprentice Sith (+ Count Dooku) when there is only ever supposed to be a master and an apprentice.

But I always thought it would be better if Dooku really was fighting a rebellion against Sidious. It would have been way cooler if he were telling Obiwan the truth.

really? the book said it was in a war :\

when the movie comes out, I hope they tell us what really happened

Nate 04-04-2005 06:03 PM

Possibly his shuttle was shot down in the war, which would explain how he survived. I mean, any self-respecting jedi isn't going to pull any punches in one-on-one combat.

Grevius DOES appear in the CN Clone Wars shorts, I havent seen the second "season", but he really is the highlight of the first "season"

SPOILER CN Clone Wars SPOILER

the first series he fights against a group of jedi, first he ambushes them and makes them hide inside some tiny ruin shaped like a hut, the Jedi are terrified, they say they've never seen robots being so organized (it seems he was accompanied by an army), the wiser one (white hair and beard, straps of skin falling at the sides of his face, like the one in the trailer) tells them all to hold, but the youngest one snaps and runs out of the hut, getting slain by Grevious instantly, then a large battle ensues, and while I dont remember details, he does use 4 sabers at once, not only that, because he uses a stance similar to the guy who looks like a kabuki actor (kyoshiro I think..) from "Samurai shodown" series he can hold a lightsabre with his foot, he also does this werid thing where he uses his spine like a rotor, and slashes with all the sabres at once like a helicopter, the jedi arent any contest to him (they were about 5)

Oddish 04-08-2005 01:29 PM

Yeah, I saw that too.

*spoilers*

On the second season General Grevous fight 3 jedis, and kiddnaps that old guy, and the jedis fail their mission. He can aslo hide all of his arms, and climb on walls and such.

Al the Glukkon 04-08-2005 02:56 PM

I bought a graphic novel that was worked on by some of the concept artists. At the very end it had a comic about Grievous's origins. I have no idea if it's canon, but in the comic he was nearly killed in a shuttle crash, which was apparently planned by Sideous.

Yep, that's the information I also got out of the visual dictionary some people scanned it online and I found a page on Grievous and it talked about the shuttle crash and how he feels humiliated about being ressurrected as a droid. And it wouldnt be too weird either if Sidious planned it as another little scheme in his master plan.

Heh heh, that abbreviation amuses me. Star Wars 'ROTS' away...

Strike Witch 04-09-2005 05:40 AM

SPOILERS!

Well I read the book before it came out, (review copy), and here are some excerpts:

"Grievous is a monster.

The Separatist Supreme Commander is an abomination of nature, a fusion of flesh and droid- and his droid parts have more compasion than what remains of his alien flesh. This half living creature is a slaughterer of billions. Whole planets have been burned at his command. He is the evil genius of the Confederacy.
The architect of their victories.
The author of their atrocities.
And his durasteel grip has closed on Palpatine. He confirms the capture personally in a wideband transmission from his command cruiser in the midst of the orbital battle. Beings across the galaxy watch, and shudder, and pray that they might wake up from this awful dream.
Because they know that what they're watching, live on Holonet, is the death of the Republic."

More?

Nate 04-11-2005 06:56 PM

More!

But what do you mean by "And his durasteel grip has closed on Palpatine" ? I thought Palpatine was Sideous. Or can I assume that this just a ruse?

Al the Glukkon 04-12-2005 05:04 PM

Oh, it also says that Grievous had to have a blood transfusion. The blood used was from the long lost Jedi master Sifo-Dyas.

He is Sideous, but Grievous doesn't know it. Grievous desperatly wants to kill Palpatine, but Sideous will not let him (for reasons we know but Grievous does not). I suppose Grievous' desire to kill Palpatine gets the best of him.

Biggy Bro Slig 04-13-2005 07:44 AM

Sifo-dyas?
Is he in a movie?
I know he's mentioned in Attack of the Clones, but who is he?

Al the Glukkon 04-14-2005 01:19 PM

He is the Jedi who supposedly ordered all of the clones. He dissapeared over 10 years prior to AOTC.

Al the Vykker 04-14-2005 03:15 PM

It's official Revenge of the Sith has been rated PG-13 for Scifi Violence and some Intense Images.

Joe the Glukkon 04-14-2005 05:46 PM

Man I can't wait for this film. Now that I've seen some pictures and the trailer, I'm more excited.

I'm surprised it got a PG-13 rating.

According to the Visual Dictionary for Episode 3, Sifo Dyas was murdered by Count Dooku as part of his initiation into the Sith and apprenticeship to Darth Sidious. Sifo Dyas was arranging cloning plans with Kamino etc., and to cover up Sidious' plans etc Dooku erased the records of Kamino and assumed Sifo Dyas' identity when he approached Lamu Su with plans for the army.

Wait, who is Kamino? And why was Sifo Dyas originally arranging for the clones?
