I'd like to offer a definition of "tolerate": To allow without prohibiting or opposing; permit. Thank you, Dictionary.com.
True tolerance is saying, "You be you, and I'll be me as long as harm isn't brought to anyone." If someone is opposed to the rights of marriage, adoption, etc. given to gay people, then that person is not practicing tolerance. Now, everyone does have the right to his or her opinion even if it's believing homosexuality is immoral, but when it comes to the denial of rights, that's when tolerance is impossible. Neph, another debate starting when you finally returned has been unfortunate, and I sincerely hope you don't leave again. While I disagree strongly with most of what you say, I admire that you've tried to have logical reasons behind your beliefs... unlike most people who dislike homosexuality because "it's yucky". But I want you to ask yourself, if you were given the power to give these people equal rights, would you? I doubt you would, which would make you intolerant... but as the sinner saying goes, I apply the same to this. "Hate the intolerance, love the intolerater." (I don't think that's a word...) Back to poor Spongebob, man, everyone should take a few minutes to do a search for other forums that talk about this.... ones with people who actually agree with it and want to boycott Spongebob. Hilarious. I recommend FreeConservatives.com. Even the people who disagree with it can give you a good laugh. "Boycott Spongebob? No. Boycott Liberals? Yes!" |
Agreed on Tolerating.
Although, I'd prefer to accept them as complete equals and treat them as I would everyone else. |

And the thing about the Hamster-Monkey hybrids isn't true. I wish it was, but unfortunately it is not. :) :

Sorry, i couldn't hear you over the squeaking-chittering Hamkey sounds coming from that giant cage. 'Even if this is true its not relevant because its not a fundamental part of the religion. Its like hating all Americans because of Matthew Shepard.' Oh, it is relevant. As it's a specific Gene called a "Hate Gene" commonly found in Jews. Scientists are working out a way to cancel this Gene out, but thus far are failing miserably. |
Oh Jacob, Jacob, Jacob. What are we going to do with you?

I heard that they were considering calling regular water unkosher because it contains micro-organisms, which could be construed as "shellfish". Probably pure myth, but I thought it was funny. I can really imagine it happening.

Someone really did suggest it but it never happened because everyone was laughing too hard to get around to organising it.
