Yahweh, or Jehovah.

Abe's son 02-02-2005 04:34 PM

Yaweh, Jehovah, God, Allah

And the satans - Samael, Satan, Diablo, Devil, Dagon (Because he was the alternitave to worshiping Yaweh. But it was odd because he was fish based), Nyralthotep.

TheRaisin 02-02-2005 05:04 PM

Nergal, yes?

Abe's son 02-02-2005 05:33 PM

Nurgal rather...

Samael - Hebrew for Poisen
Nurgal - Something for plauge.

Gravity 02-03-2005 05:21 AM

I would have to be either
Bast, the egyptian goddess of fire and fertility (Note: Her name isn't Bastet, some stupid explorer bastardized her name!)
or
Kalika, a goddess of death and rebirth. Why? Because smiting things is fun 8D. I believe she comes from Hindu faith.

TheRaisin 02-03-2005 12:53 PM

Hmm, I've heard of a Kali. Might Kalika be a variation upon this name? Or vice-versa?

Nate 02-03-2005 02:52 PM

:

Does god acttually have a name?!

He's got tonnes of them, of which the tetragrammatron (ie Jahweh) is the most famous. Only problem is that most of them are ineffable - even Jahweh/Jehovah is only an attempt to pronounce the letters YHVH (ancient hebrew doesn't have any vowel markers). So in order to get around the non-effing rule Jews call him God or Hashem, which literally means 'The Name'.

Gravity 02-20-2005 09:38 AM

The three name I know her by are Kali, Kali-Ma and Kalika. She has many other names, most are secret.

TheRaisin 02-20-2005 09:47 AM

Interesting.

She makes an appearance in Lamb when Jesus and his best friend Biff travel to India. That's how I know who she is. A bunch of her followers are sacrificing children to her. Mmmmyup. I don't know how accurate a portrayal this is . . .

Gravity 02-20-2005 10:04 AM

I wouldn't be surprised. She also does rule re-birth. Maye the were trying to return their kids to sender, you know?

TheRaisin 02-20-2005 10:12 AM

Heh heh. Manufacturing error. Please reimburse.

Alpha 02-20-2005 11:41 AM

Nurgle is God of pestilence and plague, good job.

i don't really want to be any God, but i will be Odin, just so i can completely ruin the guy who said he wants to be Loki when Ragnarok comes.

Abe's son 02-20-2005 02:30 PM

Right. 40k uses the gods but they are actual gods.

Slaanesh is the Goddess of Fertility and Deception (How nice)
Khrone is war
Tzeentch is Mystery or something along those lines... can't quite remember.

Funny thing is Slaanesh is male...
