Don't get me started on South Park, That show should of died a long time ago.

I definitely don't agree with the "long time ago" part, but I'm pretty sure that they'll quit the show after a season or two, they are running out of ideas. I'm fine with that though, it's had a good run.

Sekto Springs 02-21-2012 03:55 PM

I like South Park. I've noticed several people go through a phase where they try not to watch it/like it, but in the end, you come back to it and realize why it's still on TV. Because it's not a great show, but it's a very watchable one. The kind of show that's ideal for leaving on in the background. Something that you can occasionally tune into and get a quick chuckle without having to commit half an hour of your undivided attention.

sheridanm962 02-21-2012 06:25 PM

No I enjoy it most of the time, it's great for sitting down and watching for the whole time being, you should try it some time :tard:

Sekto Springs 02-21-2012 07:11 PM

I would, except I've seen every episode about a thousand times already.

Mr. Bungle 02-21-2012 07:11 PM

I love the first 7 or 8 seasons of South Park, and there have been some tremendous episodes from the past few seasons. I just think the idea of lampooning recent news events is getting a bit dry, and they need to rework their formula.

Sekto Springs 02-21-2012 07:13 PM

I think both Matt and Trey are kind of sick of making South Park. Their formulaic approach to making this show is probably the only thing that's made it bearable over the the last 15 years.

sheridanm962 02-21-2012 07:51 PM

I do believe there are completely boring episodes that have no point, don't you?

Sekto Springs 02-21-2012 07:52 PM

I haven't seen one yet. I wasn't crazy about the Coon & Friends saga though.

watched Gerry. if you want a movie that keeps you on the edge of your seat throughout, is action-packed, full of funny, evocative, simply amazing dialogue and just throws exciting and exhillarating scenes at you like a machinegun on Viagra, a film you just can't take your eyes off, a film that just wiles the hours away like magical pixie dust, a film that is just jam-packed with deep, rich, interesting characters, then watch this film. it's simply amazing and you will not think "why the fuck am i watching this? DO SOMETHING". see this movie. see it now. bask in it's awesomeness.

No, thats family guy, south park is a great show, granted its not as good any more, the same can be said for family guy, but on a huge scale. Family guy was only good for about 5 years, then it ran out of steam.

Sekto Springs 02-21-2012 11:59 PM

The last few seasons of Family Guy picked up the pace a bit, but Family Guy in general isn't that great and never was. The character dynamics have changed so dramatically from the first few seasons that I don't even really regard them as the same show. I'd still rather watch Family Guy than a recent episode of The Simpsons.

I like American Dad more anyway, but only for Roger. I find the titular character, Stan, to be an insufferable and generally unfunny character.

Nepsotic 02-22-2012 07:42 AM

American dad is the only one of seth mcfarlanes (no idea how to spell that) shows that i still axtually like. I still like south park, last season was great.

Did you see the recent half-season cliffhanger? It seemed as if they were giving up altogether. (showing it intentionally though)

edit- oh cock, sorry

Wings of Fire 02-22-2012 07:55 AM

I hate South Park, I've never found it funny since the movie.

Nepsotic 02-22-2012 07:57 AM

Its grown up since then, (and gotten old)

Dynamithix 02-22-2012 11:46 AM

I watched Drag Me To Hell with my dad earlier and it was actually alright in my opinion.

Nepsotic 02-22-2012 11:50 AM

I watched it when it first came out. I downloaded it. I cried, what can i say? I'm a cat person.
I do like it though, a nice original idea.

The South Park movie is phenomenal, I never get tired of it. Definitely much better than the past few seasons. Season 8 is one of my favourite television seasons ever, though. Let's Fighting Love!

Brofist, that's my favourite season too. The Finnish MTV has shown it at least 5 times in the last two years and I never get tired of it.

Stupid Spoiled Whore Video Playset!

OANST 02-22-2012 01:18 PM

On the subject of Matt Stone, and Trey Parker, I watched Cannibal: The Musical again a few weeks ago. That's my favorite thing that they've ever done.

Nepsotic 02-22-2012 01:28 PM

Season 8 is one of my favourites too. AWESOME-O, a classic.

Sekto Springs 02-22-2012 06:11 PM

What I like about Matt and Trey is that they aren't just lazy funnymen who put all their chips on South Park. They actually try once in a while to be artistic. Whether you love or hate Team America, there was a lot of love put into that movie.

sheridanm962 02-22-2012 07:04 PM

Damn, I love Team America, Fuck yeah!

One of my friends say it's well overdone but that's obviously a hate speech of the latter.

Sekto Springs 02-22-2012 07:17 PM

It's really difficult for me to respect people who can't just laugh at lowbrow humor. It is what it is, just enjoy it and stop being offended by it.

I once met this humorless old bastard who said he was offended by Hogan's Heroes because of it's comedic take on P.O.W.s. If he was actually in a war, perhaps I would have sympathized, but he wasn't. He just had no taste or sense of humor.

Mr. Bungle 02-22-2012 07:20 PM

After years of hearing its praise and people singing "America, fuck yeah!" at school, I've never watched that movie. Dunno why. Probably should.

Wings of Fire 02-22-2012 07:20 PM

I liked Team America World Police plenty. Not nearly as much as the South Park movie, but the South Park movie is pretty much in my top twenty so that's a challenge.

I even like the older South Park seasons. I just don't really like any from the mid 2000s onwards.

Mr. Bungle 02-22-2012 07:24 PM

Really? I find the first few seasons alright, but they can get too stupid and crude for their own good. They started to get pretty smart around season 5 or 6, at least in my opinion.

Wings of Fire 02-22-2012 07:28 PM

I liked South Park when it was stupid and crude.

Also I was a kid.

I took comfort in the fact that I saw that film before it became a forced meme in almost every high school in America.

I've been watching Season 2 of Face Off. For those of you who don't know what it is, it's a project runway-style elimination show where make-up and creature fx artists compete for a grand prize. They're given a make-up challenge, usually something monster or gore-related, and those who make the cut go onto the next round.

So far, it's been pretty pitiful compared to S1. The contestants are comparatively talentless, and from a conceptual standpoint, they seem to miss the mark every single time. There's also a greater emphasis on painting this season, which is funny, because all the paint jobs thus far have been pretty terrible. You can tell the judges are forcing themselves to grade on a curve, because all of the contestants are equally unimpressive.

This is a picture of the winning make-up from S1. The challenge was twisted fairy tales, this guy did the Frog Prince.

I don't have any pictures from season 2, but I'll just say that I've seen better special fx on Power Rangers.

MA 02-22-2012 10:05 PM

dunno if i get the channel that's on, but it sounds great.
