Someone is snarky tonight. I'm hurt, Meech. Hurt.

I'm disappointed. I saw you'd posted here and thought, "Oh good, it's OANST here to tell us what art is again".

He already did that recently.

OANST 02-08-2013 01:03 PM

Oh, yeah. Art is jiggling titties.

Mr. Bungle 02-08-2013 01:54 PM

Portlandia was recently added to Canadian Netflix, so I've been watching that. Funny show.

Hang on. Last time I posted jiggling titties everyone decided I was gay.

Varrok 02-08-2013 02:23 PM

There goes the second lesson: Art is gay.

Those titties didn't jiggle. They had tides.

I've just seen Wreck-It Ralph, it was very fun :) there will be a sequel, right?

Crashpunk 02-09-2013 06:52 AM

No doubtingly yes. Everything gets a sequel now :)

Varrok 02-09-2013 07:05 AM

Even the Titanic?

OANST 02-09-2013 07:13 AM

Yes.

Varrok 02-09-2013 07:19 AM

You are kidding me.

Vyrien 02-09-2013 07:24 AM

The film is not a sequel to the 1997 film by James Cameron
Yes.

Yes.

You are being honest with me.

Sekto Springs 02-09-2013 09:24 AM

The Asylum makes the best movies.

MeechMunchie 02-09-2013 12:02 PM

Even just the titles are entertaining enough.

That sentence sounds hideous.

Dynamithix 02-09-2013 12:03 PM

I watched Wreck-It Ralph. It was decent and there were tons of easter eggs/cameos, Q-Bert parts were funny. They could have shown a few more game worlds, I thought the sugar rush world was sort of boring yet that was pretty much the main setting. But yeah, it was a solid Disney quality movie, take that as you will, I myself liked it.

"Battle of Los Angeles" peaked My interest. Why rip off a film that was already bad?

Mr. Bungle 02-09-2013 03:29 PM

Finished the first season of Portlandia today. Awesome show, way different from how I expected. Unlike any sketch comedy show I've seen.

I have no problem with the action scenes. It is, at the very least, a passable action movie.

I thought it was clever when I was, what? Ten? I think the second and third movies had the potential to be smarter, but they had at least as many stupid things and cliches as they had clever bits, and mashed it into an almost incoherent narrative.

The second one had plenty of action which I liked, they shoved all the plot to the third part which sort of bogs it down and it ends on a downer.

Nepsotic 02-10-2013 03:45 PM

I watched the new Silent Hill film. It's hard to overstate My disappointment. Especially after how good the first one was. I was really expecting more. I'm sad now.

Josh 02-10-2013 04:25 PM

I watched a few episodes of Spartacus: Gods of the Arena

i have never seen more unnecessary sex scenes in my life holy shit. And the scene where Gaia pours wine all over her tits seems like it'd look stupid if it wasn't in slow motion

I think the title of the sequel alone - "Silent Hill 2; Revelation 3D" - was not only hinting at it's schlocky awfulness, but guaranteeing it.

Nepsotic 02-11-2013 10:26 AM

I was actually going to see it at the pictures, but due to the fact it had "3D" in it I fucked that idea off and waited for a decent DVD rip.

AlexFili 02-13-2013 12:45 AM

Watched Die Hard on TV. Sort of forgot how much of a classic action movie that one was. It's also strange in that it's set during Christmas and the main character is barefoot throughout most of the film. Looking forward to seeing the new one in the cinemas too (Willis was great in Looper).

Another film I just watched was Ted. There were so many funny moments and great timing from all the cast. The third act took an interesting turn and there were a lot of plot twists here and there. I particularly liked the little references to other things, like the main character reading a Tintin book and then Ted makes a reference to Pink Floyd! Thunder buddies for life!

Nepsotic 02-13-2013 03:30 AM

I thought it was massively overrated.

In other news, I watched the first and second series of The Mighty Boosh again. Man, I forgot how much I love that programme.

Mr. Bungle 02-13-2013 05:01 AM

Portlandia. Holy shit what a funny show.

OddjobAbe 02-13-2013 09:21 AM

I watched some shallow BBC thing about 20th century music. I despised most of the guests they had on talking, George Benjamin especially, the academic goon of a composeur (although honestly, I don't know his stuff. He just strikes me as a contemptible human being). They had fairly big sections on Shoenberg, Stravinsky and the likes, but for some reason just glossed over Varese. Typical of the BBC to waste your time with watered-down homogenised renderings of events.

On an unrelated note, my cousin stayed with us for a couple of days, and it's come to light that she's taken to those Chinese cartoons that WoF and a couple of other folk like. Those five minutes spent in that spare room were my most extensive experience with such media, and I don't think I will ever see the appeal, if I'm honest.
