I have another question
how come the boardroom in the intro is in zulag one (because that's where you start) but when you reach the end in zulag 4 the boardroom's there as well?
unless they were built right next to each other which is a dumb design choice :P

Nate 06-09-2012 12:05 AM

Abe ran quite far in the intro movie, and fell a significant distance. They're close, but not that close.

Also, Abe wouldn't have taken the most direct route from Zulag 1 to the boardroom. He needed to travel through all the Zulags to free the other Mudokons.

Here's a question: why are the blind Muds in Exoddus white? Did they ever really give reason for this other than making it so you can tell them apart from the regular green Muds?

Nate 06-11-2012 09:10 PM

I don't know if this is canon or not, but I always assumed it was because they had been trapped underground in the mines for so long.

Sekto Springs 06-11-2012 09:37 PM

Mudokons are chameleonic to some degree. I figured the white palor was due to the trauma of having their eyes sewn shut, like how one's hair turns white in situations of extreme fear and distress. Or perhaps without the ability to see and react to their environment, their chromatophores go "dead" so to speak. Both of these phenomena have been documented in actual chameleonic creatures, so either way.

MeechMunchie 06-11-2012 11:20 PM

They're albinos. They can't see very well anyway, so the Glukkons put them to work in the mines.

Wil 06-12-2012 12:42 AM

They lose their skin pigmentation by spending so much time underground, in the dark. You can see the same effect in Sewer Slegs.

Nepsotic 06-12-2012 06:43 AM

So basically the opposite of a tan?

Wil 06-12-2012 07:16 AM

Yeah, basically.

Bullet Magnet 07-02-2012 06:42 PM

You get the same effect outdoors in England.

Nepsotic 07-02-2012 11:10 PM

Believe me, I know.

MeechMunchie 07-03-2012 08:52 AM

I don't believe you.

Connell 07-03-2012 12:30 PM

What does Sic'em mean? The phrase seen on the Slog Kennels in Oddysee

Nepsotic 07-03-2012 12:37 PM

Something along the lines of get them or kill them I think, its also heard on that movie 'Stand By Me' and the Family Guy spoof, but those are the only times I've heard it. I think its just 'fuck 'em up!' basically.

I do have a question actually, fortunately...in the AO menu screen, with Abe's head, he's surrounded by, what I presume to be tribal hieroglyphs, or pictograms, or something. Any way, I've identified most of them, but I was wondering if anyone knew what the ones I can't work out are..are?

Using http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gtqsThM41jc and going clockwise from bottom left to bottom right I have:

1 elum
2 ?
3 ? (vyker or glukkon?)
4 mudokon
5 scrab
6 slog
7 ?
8 slig
9 paramite

Ta.

Max, do you know what number two is? It's bugging the hell outta me!

It's a Mudokon. His ponytail is sticking out to the right. Above him is an eye symbol.

:fuzcool:

STM 07-04-2012 09:10 AM

Ahh, so perhaps it's a sign of enlightenment or something? Thanks Maximus!

MeechMunchie 07-04-2012 10:12 AM

I think it's the Mudokon symbol for their messiah (i.e. Abe). You have the eye in the "Bring us to the birds" message.

STM 07-04-2012 10:18 AM

It makes sense, I thought perhaps the eye was synonymous with being enlightened with the power of chanting/shrykull. Both ideas are not dissimilar however.

Bullet Magnet 07-04-2012 11:59 AM

http://www.oddworldforums.net/attach...5&d=1341415753

What species has that sort of eye?

Nepsotic 07-04-2012 12:30 PM

None from oddysee, unless it's a Mudokon squinting really hard.

MeechMunchie 07-04-2012 01:32 PM

It's a Mudokon after you turn off the laughing gas. Dropping air pressure and all that.

Phylum 07-04-2012 04:31 PM

That's obviously the front-view of the Shrykull, it just looks like an eye. It's hard to give a beak perspective in that style.

Bullet Magnet 07-05-2012 10:20 AM

It done got no uvula.

MeechMunchie 07-05-2012 11:02 AM

Plus it's missing a pair of arms, even if you justify the legs with perspective and/or style.

Phylum 07-05-2012 03:18 PM

I mean that it was a mud with a floating Shrykull head, not that I really think that.

Does anyone know why the fuzzles in SW look different than the other games?

And does Stranger simply not have horns, or did he have them removed? If he had them simply sanded off, they would just grow back...

'Other game', you mean? Given that they only appeared in one other game.

The Fuzzles in Munch were captively bred for specific features that made them good for testing. That's why they look different.

I don't think there's an official statement on this, but the two main fan theories are as follows:
  1. He removed them. Either surgically (like with his legs) or by regularly sanding them down.
  2. Stranger is a female Steef.

I like to think he was born without them, seeing how he must have been born during a stressful time, what with steefs being hunted into extinction and whatnot.
...hehehe, reminds me of that time you all convinced me stranger was a girl. Excellent trolling.

Can you think of any animal that is born with its horns?
