Yeah, that brewery pic is very interesting ...
They are mudokons though, as said above, they've got the same hair, spears and everything, otherwise I'd say they're early grubbs. But there's a small thing amounst the muds, I wonder what it is, I'd say it was a gabbit if it wasn't an AE pic. |

They are the natives of SW, they are SW's answer to muds basically, but Lorne wanted to seperate SW from the other games and therefore introduced new speacies.
They were supposed to have toad companions, which brings me to my question, do those toad things technically still exist in oddworld, or was their idea cut? Oh, and to lorne more about grubbs, play SW, I would tell you but they are quite closely intergrated into the story, and I don't want to ruin it for you. |
Scuba Toads had to be removed from the game because their arms were too short to be of any use: the realtime models couldn’t even row, that being their main purpose. They still exist in the Oddworld universe, and I expect we’ll see them properly one day.
|
Max, on the subject of Scuba Toads, do we know any backstory to them? I know that Scuba Toads were big fans of the Steef and rowed down the Mongo River, but anything else? Like, what kind of mutualistic relationship did they have with the Grubbs? Did they share a similar fate as the Grubbs when the Mongo River was being invaded?
|
Question: is this place (I think it is the Ma'Spa) the source of the Mongo River?
And why are Munch and Abe traveling to it (as we can see in other images related to this in the art book)? http://oddworldlibrary.net/archives/...=CAMO0155.jpg6 |

Thank you for yuor answer. I think it was a Munch's Exoddus concept art, because after having rescued Munch, they had to restock Gabbits on Oddworld.
|
Yes, and also the point of their journey to Ma'Spa was to release the baiit eggs there, aswell as abe descovering the isolated mudokons and natives in order to gather them together as one, and ignite a rebellion I believe.

I gots yet another question,
What does Abe, Munch and Stranger eat? PLaying though AO again and after watching the intro when Abe talks about Meech's, Scrabs & Paramites it got me wondering, would Abe continue to eat those things? |
If he got hungry in Rapture farms he wouldn't have much of a choice, but outisde I don't know, natural materials like fruits and such I guess, I think they hunt some animals too (Hense the spears) but in restriction.
Munch eats fish, such as the Worry fish I presume, whilst stranger would eat whatever he got whilst *Spoilers* was in his non Steef form, and would eat what the grubbs ate afteroods I guess, not sure what Steef's eat, I'd say grass due to their stag like look and behaviour, and all hoofed animals are vegetarian, but he has teeth and cat like qualities, so I'm not sure. |
I have another question: what are the Paakos and the Bolamites? I know Paakos and old creatures similar to Scrab oor its ancestor and Bolamites the same for Paramites. But what are these creatures really?
|
I've never heard of Paakos. But Bolamites are a spider-type creature used by Stranger in SW.
|
:
But can anyone post an image of a Bolamite? |
That’s the Italian‐language Wikipedia for anyone who goes on the English‐language version and gets confused. Paakos is apparently just the Italian name of an Oddworld creature with which we’re already familiar. Using Google’s translator, I would guess it’s refering to 1%ers. Abe is now, 1%ers are not some kind of primitive Scrab; they are an early design for Meetles. This is a 1%er:
![]() And Bolomites, which are not confirmed as being closely related to Paramites, look like this: ![]() |
I have a question: why are Abe and Munch guided by a Mudokon in the Song Engine image (that with a strange building)? And are they going to the Ma'Spa? I can't understand where is that image from? Wich game is it?
Thank you for help. |
They aren't guided by the Song Engine. The Song Engine is a piece of ancient Mudokon technology that they happened to walk past.
They are going to Ma'Spa because that's the location where Gabbits traditionally breed and Munch wants to repopulate his species, using the Gabbit eggs retreived from Vykker's Labs. |

How can I get other informations about Ma'Spa, in addition to Oddworldlibrary's explanation?
|
Sorry, we have told you all the information that is currently known.
|
Ok, thank you. But can I ask again? I have about two or three important question. I post one: why were Scrabania and Paramonia enclosed in AE in a early conception of the game?
I link the pics from TOGG. Thank you. http://oddworldlibrary.net/archives/togg/index.php?image=CAAE0080.jpg3[/url] http://oddworldlibrary.net/archives/...=CAAE0071.jpg3 http://oddworldlibrary.net/archives/...=CAAE0080.jpg3 |
They aren't, those are just ancient mudokon vaults, and becuase they too worship scrabs and paramites, there are some resemblances. ;)

It’s hard to say without knowing exactly what you asked them and exactly how they responded. *wink nudge hint*
|
:
The question's words can be wrong because I was inexperienced at english and I don't enclose the greetings. |
Aha! Thank you, abe is now. Now I understand. No one outside of OWI knew before now that a level set in Scrabania was at any point in the game’s production destined to appear in Abe’s Exoddus, so we had all assumed that these production paintings depict the vaults below Necrum—particularly as they’re found in the Mudomo Vault and Mudanchee Vault pages on Oddworld.com.
